2020-05-19 Thread Marcel
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421808

Bug ID: 421808
Summary: Ignored directory does not clean up database
   Product: digikam
   Version: 7.0.0
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Database-Albums
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: maes...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
"Ignored directories" does remove all ignored albums, but does not ignore
previous artefacts from this pictures.

Artefacts are produces from:
- Detect faces (in the folder Unknown)
- Similarity
- ...

All works fine again when removing the ignored directory

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Produce artefacts (e.g. Face detection)
2. Ignore that folder with detected faces
3. Look to artefacts (e.g. person unknown)

OBSERVED RESULT
The current behaviour is, that this artefacts still exists but with very
strange GUI affects:
- No album titles
- Spacing is wrong (lots of empty place holders)
- Multiple icons on same place (according to mouse position)
- ..

EXPECTED RESULT
Artefacts from Ignored directories must be removed from the database

Opening with the default application was always been possible with "Windows"
key and left double click. Now you can configure it as desired and simply open
it with a left double click.

[neon] [Bug 421804] New: KDE Neon 5.18 fails

2020-05-19 Thread Elmar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421804

Bug ID: 421804
   Summary: KDE Neon 5.18 fails
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Live/Install images
  Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: rob...@iafrica.com
CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have attempted on at least 4 occasions in last 7 days to install.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use iso downloaded last year, use "other"
2. Hangs on "attempting to restore previously installed packages"
3. Cancel
4. Repeat process
5. Download latest iso
6. repeat process

OBSERVED RESULT
The first time, I had to do a GRUB fix because I could not start up Linux Mint
Cinnamon.

EXPECTED RESULT
Should work flalessly

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:

KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I have a 2TB HDD it is partitioned as follows
sda1= 1GB; sda2=334GB; sda4=734GB; sda3=931GB (sd4=855GB, sda6=75GB)
The dividing up could have been better, and was done before I understood that
there was a limit on physical partitions (4, I think)
sda3 was intended to be for seldom used online storage to protect the HDD. That
purpose was kind of defeated when I created sda6 for Mint.
sda4is used for my working data.

The default option for Neon want so install into sda6, which makes no sense,
since it is only 75GB.

My first attempt was to leave what is sda2 as unusable. (I can understand if
Neon ignores that because it might be that I do not want to use it for whatever
reason. At one point it had held Manjaro.

Then I created the partition and attempted again. This time again it chose
sda6, ignoring the big sda2. So used the Other option and it hung as mentioned
above.

That was when I downloaded the iso again. I was struck by the fact that version
number reported was the same (after about a year). (it is disappointing that
you do not say what the version no is in the ISO filename.)

(Why do I try KDE and Manjaro? because without any rational reason, it seems
that QT is a better framework than whatever Ubuntu uses; but I far prefer the
deb packaging method. Whilst I was a techie 30y ago, these days I simply don't
have the time or inclination to be getting into the guts of the system anymore.
I have to focus on projects and running small whatever business I am in. I do
also prefer KOrganizer over Thunderbird, but rather stick as muc as possible
with the LMC vanilla. Also prefer Dolphin over Nemo.)

I thought that if I formatted sda2, that Neon would not try to restore
"previously installed packages" - how would it know that? I even tried
installing without being connected to the internet. No dice.

Another thing I noticed: Neon's wifi connection strength reports much lower %
than Mint. Not sure why that would be. I have a Nokia router connected to
fibre.

Not sure what more I can tell you.

This seems a duplicate of
https://www.reddit.com/r/kdeneon/comments/gdkvrv/installer_crash/

I cannot spend anymore time on this now. So I will have to forget about Neon,
but I wish you luck. I will answer any questions that I am able to as a
semi-techie.

SUMMARY

I was submitting a crash report about Thermal Monitor widget in KDE-neon. In
the last step, I received the following message:

Error sending the crash report /[113] Sorry but you are not allowed to (un)mark
comments or attachments as private../

The issue is that I don't know what is the problem with the report, and I can
not go back to check and fix either. The only options available are Cancel,
Retry and Show Contents of the Report, none of which lets me fix the report.
Back is grayed out.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Let your system crash.
2. Login to the assistant, mark as duplicate, add some details manually.
3. Click next, next, and so on until you get the error message.

OBSERVED RESULT
Back button was disabled

EXPECTED RESULT
Back button enabled, and hopefully a better explanation of the problem.

reproducible with digiKam-7.0.0-RC. If no new digikam version is available for

I'm on a roll...after several blissful hours of effort, I managed to narrow
down an affected part of my video to reproduce more audio pops. (I was even
able to do it with only two sound effects...truly a miracle.) Anyway, the
enclosed sample has six loud pops, three of which are clearly visible when the
output is viewed in Audacity. Hopefully the source of these pops can be found
as quickly! I would certainly be grateful.

Bug ID: 421802
Summary: menu bar goes missing after using rdp for a while
   Product: krdc
   Version: 19.12
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: RDP
  Assignee: uwol...@kde.org
  Reporter: im_drac...@hotmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Using GTK apps while running KRDC seems to cause the menu drop down bar to
crash. Sometimes it just disappears during the session and cannot be restored.
have to alt+tab to another window and then unset fullscreen from the window
context menu and then ctrl+shift+f a few times to restore the menu bar.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start an RDP session in KRDC
2.
  a) switch out of full screen, open a gtk app, switch back to full screen
  b) work for an indeterminate amount of time in rdp session, note that the
menu bar goes missing. may have firefox or bash open sometimes when this
happens, occasionally VLC (rpmfusion repo) and pulseeffects, not sure if other
apps?
3. after an indeterminate amount of time, the menu bar goes missing, requiring
manually exiting full screen with alt+tab (assuming you have another
application open)

OBSERVED RESULT
menu drop down bar in rdp session goes missing/crashes (not autohidden)

EXPECTED RESULT
menu drop down bar remains in place until you exit full screen

2020-05-19 Thread Steve
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410726

Well...I can honestly say that I never would have found that fix. :-) Thanks
for all your help!

It does bring up another suspicion I had, looking through the code...I would
convert all producer audio to floating-point, and do all internal audio
processing in that format, so that no matter what the internal transformations,
the samples wouldn't clip. But I'm not expecting anyone to jump on
that...perhaps I can try to do it, as I get more familiar with the code.

There are still some pops left, but I haven't been able to reduce them to a
simple reproduction case yet. I will continue to try. (At least there are far
fewer pops!)

>We could use those skills elsewhere (if you are interested of course) ;)

I would love too...energy willing, of course. I have a lot more energy since I
started working from home (as part of the reaction to the pandemic), but who
knows when that will end. I can continue to try to find reproduction cases for
audio artifacts.

[digikam] [Bug 421801] New: Feature Request - Please Add "Open With Default Application" to "Thumbnail Click Action" in Conf > Views > Icons section

2020-05-19 Thread Fuji Lives

  Platform: Other

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

  Reporter: yfujili...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Feature Request - Please Add "Open With Default Application" to "Thumbnail
Click Action" in Conf > Views > Icons section

I am primarily a Windows user who has tried several similar programs, and feel
digiKam is "doing things right", However there is one major hold-up that really
slows me down or makes me create odd-workarounds, and that's the ability to
"open with default application" by default, instead, double clicking an icon
only allows it to be previewed or opened via the internal digiKam editor. For
me, I open files of many different formats and have my preferred editors /
viewers already, and appreciate the ability to right click and "open with", but
it's very cumbersome compared to just double clicking a thumnail (or in my
case, mapping a mouse button to a key, and then binding that key to the open
with default application action, which then unfortunately interferes with other
applications where I need access to that mouse button).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Configure digiKam
3. Select "Views"
4. Select the "Icons" tab from within the views panel.
5. Select "thumnail click action"

OBSERVED RESULT
The only available options are "show preview" and "start image editor".

EXPECTED (hoped for / wished for) RESULT
I would request (and would really appreciate!) another option to "Open with
default application".

missing/messed up icons Kolourpaint

SUMMARY

I have been using Kolourpaint perfectly, on-and-off for the last year installed
on Manjaro XFCE. Currently running on kernel 5.4.40-1
Unfortunately since the last time I run the program again, the icons in de main
toolbar (on the left) are missing or are messed up.

I honestly don't know if this is a bug, or some kind of other issue.
There are some other reports with the same issue (in Manjaro).
I have been looking for a way to fix this for quite a while, but unfortunately
without any success.

KolourPaint version: 20.07.70

When running from terminal I get:

qt5ct: using qt5ct plugin
qt5ct: D-Bus global menu: no

Trying to reinstall qt5ct, or saving the config tool etc didn't work.

If not a bug, i would like to get some technical assistance how to solve this
issue and/or in what direction I have to look.

Why not implement this by using several instances of the konsole kpart instead
of expecting a single konsole instance to manage activity membership of tabs?

Yakuake would then have one (different) window in each activity, and each
window would contain a different instance of the kpart.

Doing so would not require any modification of the konsole kpart, or would it?

[kaffeine] [Bug 421795] New: DVB-T channels received on multiple frequencies

2020-05-19 Thread Valerio Vanni
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421795

Bug ID: 421795
Summary: DVB-T channels received on multiple frequencies
   Product: kaffeine
   Version: 2.0.5
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: mchehab+sams...@kernel.org
  Reporter: valerio.va...@inwind.it
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
In my antenna system I receive some MUX and its channels on multiple
frequencies.
This is fine, they come from different repeaters and they are redundant. If one
falls, I can see the channels from the others.
When I launch channels scan, they are all found, but then kaffeine stores them
once in channel list. Only one of the frequency (I don't know why one instead
of another: perhaps signal strength?).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Scan channels, some are on multiple frequencies
2. Add them to list

OBSERVED RESULT
Multiple channels are stored only one time. For example, I receive a MUX on 618
Mhz and on 778 Mhz: only "778" copies are stored.

EXPECTED RESULT
Both channels are stored, with a different name (channel-1, channel-2, as it
already happens for multiple lcns).

I can reproduce exactly what you described in a dual monitor virtual machine.

> But the explanation given there claims that the height method would give me
> the height of the complete virtual desktop
If you refer to "Read
[https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qdesktopwidget.html#screen-geometry] for details...",
there they say: "for desktops with multiple screens, the size of the desktop is
the union of all the screen sizes". That's not too explicit, but my guess is
that "union" means not the same as "complete virtual desktop". It's probably
more like with variables in a C-union, i.e. not laid side-by-side, but each put
at the same starting location and then measure the bounding rect. But again,
that's no real explanation.

2020-05-19 Thread Benjamin Vallin

recognised
   Product: ktouch

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: sebastian.gottfr...@posteo.de
  Reporter: benjamin.val...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Ktouch doesn't recognise bépo dead keys ^ and ¨ (to get the characters â, î, û,
ô, ï, ä, ë, ü.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Follow the training course with and for French keyboard Dvorak-bepo until
module 16 where the dead keys for î, û, â, ô, ï, ä are introduced
2. Start typing...
3. When reaching the 5 character of the word "paraît", type the bépo dead key ^
(located on the Y key of a qwerty keyboard) followed by "i".

OBSERVED RESULT
The character obtained is "i". Rightly considered by Ktouch as a typing error.

EXPECTED RESULT
Should be "î", which is the correct character.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

3,8 Gio
Intel® Core™ i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz × 4

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Because one can't finish this training module, one can't reach the following
ones either: not possible to complete the full bépo training.
It seems also that Ktouch doesn't support the bépo dead key for ¨, nor other
characters such as "…" or non no-break space.

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: File formats
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: anna.medonos...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When a directory name resembles incremental version naming scheme, 'Save
incremental version' fails. The file path is parsed incorrectly - instead of
the file name, Krita increments the number in the directory part of the path.
Since such directory does not exist, saving fails.

The behavior is the same in git master, 4.3beta1 and 4.2.9.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a directory test_1.t
2. Create a document, save to test_1.t
3. Make a change
4. Save incremental version with File -> 'Save Incremental Version'

OBSERVED RESULT
"Could not save [...]/test_2.t/test_increments.kra
Reason: Cannot open file for writing. Reason: The file could not be opened."

EXPECTED RESULT
The file name is correctly incremented and saved.

[kstars] [Bug 418159] Polar Alignment Fails

2020-05-19 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418159

--- Comment #15 from mountainai...@outlook.com ---
Jasem, you called it! It seems that the StarSense hand controller does indeed
have an issue. If you power on the mount and try to slew in RA (either
direction) before slewing in DEC, the RA values do not change. When you slew
in DEC, the RA values will change but can be non-sensical (jumping from 10 to
22 hours of RA in less than a second, before settling down). I have reported
this to Celestron, and will likely switch to the NexStar+ Hand Controller
(which does not exhibit this behavior).

This was a new symptom while using KStars/EKos because I had recently been
powering up the mount and going right into the Ekos PA routine. Previously, I
had been doing a StarSense alignment and ASPA, which was exercising the DEC
motor and freeing up RA so it could update. Strange behavior indeed.

It was intermittent because somewhere along the way I would move DEC, and the
problem would mysteriously vanish.

I have not tested this at night with an assembled telescope yet; tomorrow,
weather permitting.

I did a little bit of investigation and the problem seems to be that if you
have a panel on your right monitor attached to the left side, Plasma creates a
x11 strut area, which essentially spans over your entire left monitor. This
leaves no space for yakuake to open on that monitor.

Not 100% sure what the best way to handle this is, because using workArea with
the list argument - I think - is actually the correct implemented one.

As a quick fix you could set in your panel settings "Windows can go cover".

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Kdenlive (tested with last appimage) in Italian
2. Open the "Insert track" ("Inserisci traccia") dialog from the "Timeline"
menu

OBSERVED RESULT

The options are "Traccia video", "Traccia audio" (for "Audio track"), "Traccia

EXPECTED RESULT

A different label for each option. I have no idea of the distinction between
"Audio track" and "Audio record track", so I can't suggest a proper fix.

Use more compact OSD

Summary:
A frequent complaint over the years is the size of the OSD. It was tried to
alleviate that by having it start fading out slowly immediately but the way it
was done wasn't ideal, didn't work on Wayland, and also causes flickering
issues in recent Qt versions.
This changes the OSD to a bar-like design similar to the one used in Plasma 4.

That's quite a bunch indeed.
Lemme make a guess:
0=LVDS1<-- Your LCD panel on the laptop itself
2=LVDS-1-unknown <-- Your LCD panel on the laptop itself seem to have been
duble-detected an one point. Maybe remove.
3=XWAYLAND1<-- No idea. Some virtual display from Wayland?
4=:0.0 <-- Usually this one is the mysterious entry that spooks
around. I just delete it. It randomises itself from time to time. No idea why
though.
5=Screen30 <-- No idea. Another virtual display?
6=HDMI1<-- At some point you had an external display connected to
your laptop. It has been registered and saved at position 6.

I guess you could reove everything but the ones you know you use. May I suggest
trying this? (Save the old setup in case you need to refer to it again)
