[neon] [Bug 421804] New: KDE Neon 5.18 fails
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421804 Bug ID: 421804 Summary: KDE Neon 5.18 fails Product: neon Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: Live/Install images Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org Reporter: rob...@iafrica.com CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I have attempted on at least 4 occasions in last 7 days to install. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use iso downloaded last year, use "other" 2. Hangs on "attempting to restore previously installed packages" 3. Cancel 4. Repeat process 5. Download latest iso 6. repeat process OBSERVED RESULT The first time, I had to do a GRUB fix because I could not start up Linux Mint Cinnamon. EXPECTED RESULT Should work flalessly SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have a 2TB HDD it is partitioned as follows sda1= 1GB; sda2=334GB; sda4=734GB; sda3=931GB (sd4=855GB, sda6=75GB) The dividing up could have been better, and was done before I understood that there was a limit on physical partitions (4, I think) sda3 was intended to be for seldom used online storage to protect the HDD. That purpose was kind of defeated when I created sda6 for Mint. sda4is used for my working data. The default option for Neon want so install into sda6, which makes no sense, since it is only 75GB. My first attempt was to leave what is sda2 as unusable. (I can understand if Neon ignores that because it might be that I do not want to use it for whatever reason. At one point it had held Manjaro. Then I created the partition and attempted again. This time again it chose sda6, ignoring the big sda2. So used the Other option and it hung as mentioned above. That was when I downloaded the iso again. I was struck by the fact that version number reported was the same (after about a year). (it is disappointing that you do not say what the version no is in the ISO filename.) (Why do I try KDE and Manjaro? because without any rational reason, it seems that QT is a better framework than whatever Ubuntu uses; but I far prefer the deb packaging method. Whilst I was a techie 30y ago, these days I simply don't have the time or inclination to be getting into the guts of the system anymore. I have to focus on projects and running small whatever business I am in. I do also prefer KOrganizer over Thunderbird, but rather stick as muc as possible with the LMC vanilla. Also prefer Dolphin over Nemo.) I thought that if I formatted sda2, that Neon would not try to restore "previously installed packages" - how would it know that? I even tried installing without being connected to the internet. No dice. Another thing I noticed: Neon's wifi connection strength reports much lower % than Mint. Not sure why that would be. I have a Nokia router connected to fibre. Not sure what more I can tell you. This seems a duplicate of https://www.reddit.com/r/kdeneon/comments/gdkvrv/installer_crash/ I cannot spend anymore time on this now. So I will have to forget about Neon, but I wish you luck. I will answer any questions that I am able to as a semi-techie. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kdenlive] [Bug 410726] Audio artifacts in export
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=410726 --- Comment #12 from Steve --- Well...I can honestly say that I never would have found that fix. :-) Thanks for all your help! It does bring up another suspicion I had, looking through the code...I would convert all producer audio to floating-point, and do all internal audio processing in that format, so that no matter what the internal transformations, the samples wouldn't clip. But I'm not expecting anyone to jump on that...perhaps I can try to do it, as I get more familiar with the code. There are still some pops left, but I haven't been able to reduce them to a simple reproduction case yet. I will continue to try. (At least there are far fewer pops!) >We could use those skills elsewhere (if you are interested of course) ;) I would love too...energy willing, of course. I have a lot more energy since I started working from home (as part of the reaction to the pandemic), but who knows when that will end. I can continue to try to find reproduction cases for audio artifacts. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 421801] New: Feature Request - Please Add "Open With Default Application" to "Thumbnail Click Action" in Conf > Views > Icons section

For me, I open files of many different formats and have my preferred editors / viewers already, and appreciate the ability to right click and "open with", but it's very cumbersome compared to just double clicking a thumnail (or in my case, mapping a mouse button to a key, and then binding that key to the open with default application action, which then unfortunately interferes with other applications where I need access to that mouse button). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to Settings 2. Select Configure digiKam 3. Select "Views" 4. Select the "Icons" tab from within the views panel. 5. Select "thumnail click action" OBSERVED RESULT The only available options are "show preview" and "start image editor". EXPECTED (hoped for / wished for) RESULT I would request (and would really appreciate!) another option to "Open with default application". https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421795 Bug ID: 421795 Summary: DVB-T channels received on multiple frequencies Product: kaffeine Version: 2.0.5 Platform: Debian stable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: mchehab+sams...@kernel.org Reporter: valerio.va...@inwind.it Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY In my antenna system I receive some MUX and its channels on multiple frequencies. This is fine, they come from different repeaters and they are redundant. If one falls, I can see the channels from the others. When I launch channels scan, they are all found, but then kaffeine stores them once in channel list. Only one of the frequency (I don't know why one instead of another: perhaps signal strength?). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Scan channels, some are on multiple frequencies 2. Add them to list OBSERVED RESULT Multiple channels are stored only one time. For example, I receive a MUX on 618 Mhz and on 778 Mhz: only "778" copies are stored. EXPECTED RESULT Both channels are stored, with a different name (channel-1, channel-2, as it already happens for multiple lcns). https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421634 Tobias Deiminger changed: What|Removed |Added CC||haxti...@posteo.de --- Comment #2 from Tobias Deiminger --- I can reproduce exactly what you described in a dual monitor virtual machine. > But the explanation given there claims that the height method would give me > the height of the complete virtual desktop If you refer to "Read [https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qdesktopwidget.html#screen-geometry] for details...", there they say: "for desktops with multiple screens, the size of the desktop is the union of all the screen sizes". That's not too explicit, but my guess is that "union" means not the same as "complete virtual desktop". It's probably more like with variables in a C-union, i.e. not laid side-by-side, but each put at the same starting location and then measure the bounding rect. [kstars] [Bug 418159] Polar Alignment Fails
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418159 --- Comment #15 from mountainai...@outlook.com --- Jasem, you called it! It seems that the StarSense hand controller does indeed have an issue. If you power on the mount and try to slew in RA (either direction) before slewing in DEC, the RA values do not change. When you slew in DEC, the RA values will change but can be non-sensical (jumping from 10 to 22 hours of RA in less than a second, before settling down). I have reported this to Celestron, and will likely switch to the NexStar+ Hand Controller (which does not exhibit this behavior). This was a new symptom while using KStars/EKos because I had recently been powering up the mount and going right into the Ekos PA routine. Previously, I had been doing a StarSense alignment and ASPA, which was exercising the DEC motor and freeing up RA so it could update. Strange behavior indeed. It was intermittent because somewhere along the way I would move DEC, and the problem would mysteriously vanish. I have not tested this at night with an assembled telescope yet; tomorrow, weather permitting. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396697 Maximilian Schiller changed: What|Removed |Added CC||manim...@hotmail.de --- Comment #19 from Maximilian Schiller --- I did a little bit of investigation and the problem seems to be that if you have a panel on your right monitor attached to the left side, Plasma creates a x11 strut area, which essentially spans over your entire left monitor. This leaves no space for yakuake to open on that monitor. Not 100% sure what the best way to handle this is, because using workArea with the list argument - I think - is actually the correct implemented one. [okular] [Bug 421778] Add feature to navigate to next and previous documents in current folder
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421778 --- Comment #2 from John Veness --- Thanks for the reply. The Windows open-source PDF viewer Sumatra PDF has this feature (using ctrl+shift+left or right) and it works very well. It would be great to have this feature in Okular too, which I prefer for other reasons, including being able to set a "dark mode" using the Accessibility colours. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Could I remove all > those connections? That's quite a bunch indeed. Lemme make a guess: 0=LVDS1<-- Your LCD panel on the laptop itself 2=LVDS-1-unknown <-- Your LCD panel on the laptop itself seem to have been duble-detected an one point. Maybe remove. 3=XWAYLAND1<-- No idea. Some virtual display from Wayland? 4=:0.0 <-- Usually this one is the mysterious entry that spooks around. I just delete it. It randomises itself from time to time. No idea why though. 5=Screen30 <-- No idea. Another virtual display? 6=HDMI1<-- At some point you had an external display connected to your laptop. It has been registered and saved at position 6. I guess you could reove everything but the ones you know you use. May I suggest trying this? (Save the old setup in case you need to refer to it again) [ScreenConnectors] 0=LVDS1 1=HDMI1 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
