[Breeze] [Bug 388146] Make visibility of scrollbars configurable (autohide)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388146 --- Comment #4 from Mike --- Hmmm - in my opinion, if I turn off scrollbars in the settings I expect to see no scrollbars. Very thin scrollbars would be OK for me. If you say people expect scrollbars on Desktop - look at Macs. No scrollbars if I turn them off. To be more precise, on Mac, I have the a setting "Show scrollbars only if scrolling". This works perfectly and does not show these ugly SBs when not needed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[ksplash] [Bug 433048] New: KDE initial startup takes 30-50 seconds when autostarting apps (with and without KSplash)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433048 Bug ID: 433048 Summary: KDE initial startup takes 30-50 seconds when autostarting apps (with and without KSplash) Product: ksplash Version: 5.20.90 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: samping...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 135752 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=135752=edit systemd-bootchart svg output. SUMMARY KDE initial startup takes 30-50 seconds when autostarting apps like Steam, Discord, KMail and GWE (with and without KSplash) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start your computer 2. Enter user password in Display Manager and log-in to a Plasma session (X11 or Wayland) 3. Sit and watch your beautiful splash screen (disabling Splash screen doesnt make difference) load for 30 - 50 seconds or even more when Plasma gets updated. OBSERVED RESULT Whenever I boot into my Plasma Desktop, the splash screen just sits on my screen loading for 30-50 seconds. Disabling Splash Screen from settings doesnt make difference. Even though the Wallpaper loads quickly the plasmoids and panels still take same amount of time to load. I autostart Steam (with "-silent" argument), Discord (with "--start-minimized" argument), KMail with start minimized to systray option and GreenWithEnvy minimized. When I remove steam and Discord from autostart list, I get palsma to load under 30 seconds (around 15-25 seconds) but its still a huge amount of time to wait. GNOME for example loads the GNOME Shell first within 5-7 seconds and then autostarts the apps. Can we get the same functionality with Plasma? EXPECTED RESULT Load Plasma shell within 5-7 seconds like GNOME does (for me atleast) and then autostart apps. Autostart apps should not make a difference in Plasma load time. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Arch Linux / Linux-Zen 5.10.16 KDE Plasma Version: KDE Plasma 5.20.90 => I had this happen ever since I started using Plasma (since 5.18) KDE Frameworks Version: 5.79.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have also attached the systemd-bootchart (though it shows only 20 seconds) svg output. Systemd Bootchart was compiled from David Edmundson's repo. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Pushed by dkazakov into branch 'krita/4.3'. Workaround recursive calls in UndoStack In some cases, when the user clicks in the history docker too quickly, the undo requests may arrive recursively. Because there are a few commands that demand processEvent() calls after their execution. This patch workarounds the recursive issue using the ticket-like system for the requests and ensuring that all of them are executed at the topmost level of recursion. [plasma-integration] [Bug 431923] Keeping arrow keys pressed does nothing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431923 --- Comment #5 from Nate Graham --- I think I may understand what happened. We had an update script that changed people's settings to use a new feature which was stripped out right before the beta, so the update script updated people's settings incorrectly and caused this problem. Then later we fixed the update script to update people's settings correctly to account for the feature being removed and ensure no regressions. However the automatic system for running update scripts only runs them once. Since we changed the same update script between the beta and the final release, people who were running the beta don't get the update script run again with its correct data when they upgrade from the beta to the final release! So the good news is that this won't affect anyone upgrading from Plasma 5.20 to 5.21 (i.e. most people). The bad news is that it will probably affect everyone who tested the beta. Sorry. :( Jan, any ideas for how we can migrate beta users to the final configuration without asking all of them to manually fix this? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 433041] New: Panel extends past monitor with QT scaling
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433041 Bug ID: 433041 Summary: Panel extends past monitor with QT scaling Product: plasmashell Version: 5.20.5 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: nilaypat...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY First off, apologies if the report is confusing. I'll try to provide as much information as I can. It's a niche problem and I'm not sure exactly what's causing it. In my mixed-dpi (multi-monitor) setup, one of the panels extends past its monitor...kinda. The panel itself is not visible on the other monitor, but maximized windows on the other monitor are cut-off at the part where the panel would be if it was visible. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set up 3 monitors (right one vertical) using the script at the bottom of this report. 2. Adjust font scaling to be 192dpi instead of 96 to make things legible. This is unrelated to the bug, but is necessary unless you have eagle vision. 2. Set the following environment variables export QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=2 export QT_SCALE_FACTOR=1 export PLASMA_USE_QT_SCALING=1 # this also works with 0 instead of 1. in fact, there doesn't seem to be a difference at all between 0 and 1. 3. Add a panel to the middle monitor at the bottom 4. Try to open a window on the vertical (right) monitor. OBSERVED RESULT See attached file. The window on the right side is "maximized" (note: i forgot to disable the Grid Tiling extension before taking this image, but even without the extension, the same effect happens) EXPECTED RESULT The maximized window should properly take up the whole page SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.10.15-1-MANJARO (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have a mixed-dpi setup - laptop monitor is hi-dpi and the two external ones are low-dpi. I use an xrandr command on-startup to set the per-monitor scaling (2x for low-dpi, 1x for high). The laptop monitor is 3000x2000 and hi-dpi and both external monitors are 1920x1080 and low-dpi. And of course, after the scaling, the de-facto resolutions are 3840x2160 for the two external monitors (the vertical one is 2160x3840 since it's rotated). Here is the command I use: xrandr --output eDP-1-1 --scale 1x1 --pos 3840x0 --mode 3000x2000 --rate 60.00 --rotate normal --primary \ --output DP-4 --scale 2x2 --pos 0x0 --mode 1920x1080 --rate 143.98 --rotate normal \ --output DP-0 --scale 2x2 --pos 6840x0 --mode 1920x1080 --rate 143.98 --rotate left There are a few things which make me think it's the panel. 1. The cutoff point is exactly at the panel height 2. If you move the panel to the top of the screen, the gap on the vertical monitor moves to the very top (not as large; just as if an invisibble panel was on that monitor) 3. If you set the panel to autohide, everything works properly (the bug happens on "always be visible") 4. On the main monitor, parts of maximized/large windows get hidden under the panel, making it impossible to click on those parts. In a similar vein, if you don't use the export commands above, everything works almost perfectly except some QT apps. Also, the icons in the right click menus in plasma are noticeably smaller than when they're all set. That is actually what first made me set the QT scale values and discover this bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[rkward] [Bug 433040] New: RKWard aborted after installing recommended packages
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433040 Bug ID: 433040 Summary: RKWard aborted after installing recommended packages Product: rkward Version: unspecified Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: rkward-de...@kde.org Reporter: matthew.fagn...@utoronto.ca Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I was using a Fedora 34 KDE Plasma installation with Plasma 5.21.0 on Wayland. I updated the system with sudo dnf upgrade. The update included R-4.0.4-1.fc34.x86_64 and rkward-0.7.2-2.fc34.x86_64. I rebooted and logged in to Plasma on Wayland. I started RKWard, and its wizard suggested that I install R2Html and rmarkdown. I installed those packages with their ~15 dependencies to /usr/lib64/R/library as root. The installation completed succesfully. I clicked Done in the installation window. RKWard aborted right after that. The functions at the top of the stack seem to indicate some sort of memory management error such as a bad allocation in frames 8-9. [palapeli] [Bug 432909] Moving pieces generates hard drive activity
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432909 --- Comment #7 from Ian Wadham --- So you are a hardware geek. Fine. I respect that. C++ is only the first of several hurdles to conquer before you could make a change to Palapeli. Software development has become a lot more formal and controlled since the old days of PEEK and POKE and is based on vast amounts of shared software. It sounds as though you have an SSD and an external rotating hard drive and you have your personal (login) files on the external drive. KDE Games and other apps (including Palapeli) save user files in a special directory in your login area. You might be able to work around your problem by moving that directory to your SSD and using a link or shortcut. Please email me privately if you wish to find out more, because Bugzilla is a bug-reporting database, not a forum. I am 82 years old and fading fast, so am no longer developing or maintaining software. I work on an Apple MacBook Pro, so no flashing lights. On my previous MacBook I did months of development work on Palapeli for handling large puzzles (300-10,000 pieces). The graphics processor died but not the rotating hard drive... ;-) On my current machine I ran a check and O/S processes generate much more disk activity than Palapeli. Who knows why... but I don't really care any more. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmymoney] [Bug 432948] Funds and Bonds are wrongly reported as Stocks into several Reports
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432948 --- Comment #1 from Jack --- This is not really a bug, but an unfortunate terminology issue. In this case "Stock" refers to the type of account (e.g., cash, savings, credit card, ...) and not the type of security held in that account. I'll give some time for more comments, but I'll probably convert this to a wishlist, requesting that on these reports, account type should be taken (perhaps optionally) to include security_type for any stock accounts. This would only be possible since a stock account only holds a single security. However, I do not know how easy or difficult this would be to program. Another option would be to create a similar report, but only for stock accounts, broken down by security type. This is just another facet of the difficulty of finding a clear and consistent terminology when dealing with stocks/equities/shares/... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
