I have a feature request that i think will enhance users productivity while using Okular. Currently, when the user creates a graphical object lets say an ellipse or an underline obect then if he/she right clicks on that object then there is no "copy" option. Instead i(user) can see only three options which are "open popup note", "delete" and "properties". There should also be a copy option. After clicking on this "copy" option the user can/should be able to press Ctrl+V or "paste" and then that copied object should be pasted at that location. I am a regular user of Okular and use it very very frequently. Sometimes i create a lot of objects. And currently i have to create these object again and again, moreover the sizes of these object differ. So i have to manually change their size. Instead i want to be able to just copy and paste the object that i want. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=439699 Emmet O'Neill changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|CONFIRMED --- Comment #7 from Emmet O'Neill --- So I've been making some progress on this bug, but there are a few problems. First off, I've been seeing what Halla has been where the combobox is never blank, and resets to the all tag when changing active storages. This reset to all shouldn't happen though, imo, and I've begun fixing that particular issue. So far, I've been able to get the selected tag to persist across resource changes (good) but I have run into a problem where the resources that belong to a tag don't accurately reflect active resources. I was able to fix a related issue to this w/ bug 440315 where the TagResourceModel wouldn't update on any of the drop down options until a tag was assigned or removed. [valgrind] [Bug 440403] New: Some Arm64 CPU feature is masked when valgrind is running and can not run the memcheck
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440403 Bug ID: 440403 Summary: Some Arm64 CPU feature is masked when valgrind is running and can not run the memcheck Product: valgrind Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: jsew...@acm.org Reporter: kevin.z...@linaro.org Target Milestone: --- Background: We are running PMDK on Arm64 for persistent memory operation. Now we meet an issue for running test suites. PMDK needs to check if Arm64 supports CPU feature: DCPOP, to decide to execute which CPU flushing command. But with the commit: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381556, the CPU features have been masked, so we can not detect the real CPU features such as DCPOP. That will induce that we can not use cpu flushing cmd: "dc cvap" to flushing the CPU, which break the persistent memory working flow. Is there any potential fix for this? Since Permsist memory is more and more important now, and memcheck for persist memory will be an important user scenario for valgrind. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440399 Bug ID: 440399 Summary: Focus between UI elements and canvas don't switch fast enough, often leading to clashing functionality of hotkeys Product: krita Version: 4.4.5 Platform: Appimage OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Usability Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: tomtomtomreportin...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When using canvas inputs on the canvas shortly after using UI elements (such as clicking a preset from the Brush Presets docker or closing the brush settings popup), these inputs will often clash with the UI elements, making the user unintentionally perform certain functions. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Click a brush in the Brush Presets docker. 2. Move cursor over the canvas and press Tab swiftly after, attempting to enter Canvas-Only Mode. Observed result: The next brush preset in the docker is selected instead. Another example: 1. Open brush settings popup. 2. Close brush settings popup. 3. Move cursor over the canvas and press Space swiftly after, attempting to pan the canvas. Observed result: The brush settings popup pops up again. [kwin] [Bug 440397] New: KDE crashes on launch with Wayland and NVidia
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440397 Bug ID: 440397 Summary: KDE crashes on launch with Wayland and NVidia Product: kwin Version: 5.22.4 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: gamer633...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY KDE crashes on launch when trying to use Wayland; it may not be able to find a display? Though that's only a guess from the log. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Run `XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland sudo dbus-run-session startplasma-wayland` from terminal or 1. Choose "Plasma (Wayland)" in LightDM. 2. Login OBSERVED RESULT In terminal: the following shows ``` dbus-daemon[34804]: [session uid=1000 pid=34804] Activating service name='org.freedesktop.systemd1' requested by ':1.0' (uid=1000 pid=34805 comm="startplasma-wayland ") dbus-daemon[34804]: [session uid=1000 pid=34804] Activated service 'org.freedesktop.systemd1' failed: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1 Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_md" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_me" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_se" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_so" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_ue" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_us" as value contains unsupported characters dbus-daemon[34804]: [session uid=1000 pid=34804] Activating service name='org.freedesktop.systemd1' requested by ':1.0' (uid=1000 pid=34805 comm="startplasma-wayland ") dbus-daemon[34804]: [session uid=1000 pid=34804] Activated service 'org.freedesktop.systemd1' failed: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1 Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_md" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_me" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_se" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_so" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_ue" as value contains unsupported characters Skipping syncing of environment variable "LESS_TERMCAP_us" as value contains unsupported characters dbus-daemon[34804]: [session uid=1000 pid=34804] Activating service name='org.freedesktop.systemd1' requested by ':1.0' (uid=1000 pid=34805 comm="startplasma-wayland ") dbus-daemon[34804]: [session uid=1000 pid=34804] Activated service 'org.freedesktop.systemd1' failed: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1 dbus-daemon[34804]: [session uid=1000 pid=34804] Activating service name='org.freedesktop.systemd1' requested by ':1.0' (uid=1000 pid=34805 comm="startplasma-wayland ") dbus-daemon[34804]: [session uid=1000 pid=34804] Activated service 'org.freedesktop.systemd1' failed: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1 (kwin_wayland:34817): Gtk-WARNING **: 22:14:16.092: cannot open display: KWin exited with code 1 Launching kwin startplasmacompositor: Shutting down... startplasmacompositor: Done. ``` If launching from LightDM, the screen turns black for a second, then kicks me back to LightDM EXPECTED RESULT KDE Plasma launches successfully SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: Arch 5.13.5 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4-1 KDE Frameworks Version: N/A? Not sure where to find this Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I also have (as following the instructions at https://community.kde.org/Plasma/Wayland/Nvidia): egl-wayland 1.1.7-1 installed and the kernel parameter nvidia-drm.modeset=1, confirmed by `cat /sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/modeset` producing `Y`. I'm using the `nvidia-dkms 470.57.02-3` drivers, with a NVidia GeForce 1070M Mobile Max-Q Other users appear to have similar problems at https://forum.manjaro.org/t/wayland-session-not-working/73886/4 and https://forum.artixlinux.org/index.php/topic,2880.msg18776.html Plasma Wayland launches just fine nested by running `dbus-run-session startplasma-wayland` from within an X11 session. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krita] [Bug 440169] Painting with brushes on canvas slow and unresponsive compared to scratchpad in brush settings
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440169 --- Comment #2 from Michał Staruch --- (In reply to Dmitry Kazakov from comment #1) > Hi, Michal! > > What drawing tablet do you use for this test? Just a mouse - I was simply comparing responsiveness and smoothness of a few painting applications using simple 1px hard pencil and no stabilizer. Scratchpad in Krita works fine, but main canvas is... well, OK for a chess player, but completely unable to handle techniques like scribble drawing - for that you need to work in real-time, so it could feel like a real pencil. Rendering graphics on canvas might be done at monitor refresh rate (usually 60-144 Hz, also depends on v-sync, tripple buffering, etc.), but processing input events should be done independently, at input device rate (typically 500-1000 Hz, for a standard mouse) and absolutely NOT dropped - that dropped intermediate mouse positions are probably root cause of shapes turning into squares, instead of being nicely curved. It's just a wild guess from this side, but... maybe in case of painting on canvas rendering / v-sync interferes somehow with processing input events? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 440396] New: Scrollbar derives its color from view background, often making it impossible to see
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440396 Bug ID: 440396 Summary: Scrollbar derives its color from view background, often making it impossible to see Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Theme - Breeze Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org Reporter: bourne.ident...@hotmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 140400 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=140400&action=edit Scrollbar invisible in Konsole I love KDE, but there is a problem with the Plasma shell that has surprisingly unnoticed. There are two problems with the scrollbar. The Breeze themes don't allow the user to set the scrollbar thickness, which is a problem because the default scrollbar in Breeze is too narrow. The second is that the scrollbar derives its color from the view background, often making it impossible to see. I am attaching a screenshot in which Konsole shows no scrollbar at all. To reproduce the problem, just run a command in Konsole with very output (I ran `pacman -Syyu`). Ideally, the scrollbar color should derive its color from the window background or, even better, be independently tunable. For example, in the screenshot referred, the scrollbar should have been brown -- the color of the Menu Bar. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
