[marble] [Bug 441329] New: Marble Maps mobile app: "Vector OSM" map does not honor Plasma Mobile screen scaling, renders only in upper left corner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441329 Bug ID: 441329 Summary: Marble Maps mobile app: "Vector OSM" map does not honor Plasma Mobile screen scaling, renders only in upper left corner Product: marble Version: Marble Maps 1.0 (Android) Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: android Assignee: marble-b...@kde.org Reporter: kevin.kof...@chello.at Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I tried the Marble Maps mobile application on Plasma Mobile on my PinePhone. (The latest I tried is from KDE Gear 21.08.0.) The application defaults to the "Vector OSM" OpenStreetMap vector data renderer (and actually, I do not see any way to switch to another map). Unfortunately, the rendering is broken (as described below) due to mishandling screen scaling. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Get a PinePhone running Manjaro Plasma Mobile (or I presume this can also be reproduced on any other Plasma Mobile distro). 2. Run Discover and install Marble Maps. 3. Run Marble Maps from the menu. 4. Look at what gets rendered. Also notice how moving around the map does not resolve the issue. (Note that I was unable to reproduce this on my desktop computer using desktop Marble and manually setting QT_SCALE_FACTOR=2.) OBSERVED RESULT The screen scaling factor (which defaults to 2.00× on the PinePhone) appears to be ignored: The map rendering only fills the upper left quarter of the canvas. (And there is no clipping, so larger features can end up drawing into the unused remainder of the canvas.) EXPECTED RESULT The map rendering fills the entire canvas, either by being scaled to twice the size, or by just drawing more of the map. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: no macOS: no Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro-ARM (Plasma Mobile edition) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I filed this against the "android" component because this is with the mobile Kirigami Marble Maps app originally developed for Android. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441328 Bug ID: 441328 Summary: Manual proxy not working with authentication. Product: systemsettings Version: unspecified Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: kcm_proxy Assignee: konq-b...@kde.org Reporter: ezekielsm...@protonmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Authenticated proxys (name:password@proxy) dont save in proxy settings and will have the username:password string removed and just leave the proxy address. I dont know how plasma currently handles proxys but I am currently using gnome which applys proxy settings as an env variable. Plasma proxy even when it works doesnt affect env variables and I think that it would be a good idea to since a lot of applications support it and its useful in terminal. I think this is quite a big issue since it can cause a lot of issues in workplaces that require proxys for network access. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open plasma proxy settings 2. Select manual 3. Input a authenticated proxy (username:password@proxy) OBSERVED RESULT Proxy will save but once clicked out and gone back into proxy settings it resets to (proxy) instead of (username:password@proxy) When using an application such as discover it once again proves the authentication is ignored and just shows (proxy) normally being unreachable since the proxy requires authentication. EXPECTED RESULT Authenticated proxys to be accepted and also applied to enviromnet variables to use with terminal or other applications that support enviroment variable arguments. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION There seems to be another bug with proxys not saving after being saved and being wiped when moving between setting windows. [kwin] [Bug 107302] Per-screen virtual desktops
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107302 Neal Gompa changed: What|Removed |Added CC||aleix...@kde.org, ||jgrul...@redhat.com, ||m...@michaeltunnell.com, ||ngomp...@gmail.com, ||rdie...@gmail.com --- Comment #47 from Neal Gompa --- With Plasma Wayland, this seems like something that should be more doable now than it was in years gone by. I've been doing this on macOS for many years, and it's a major thing I miss in Plasma. On macOS, workspaces are assigned to displays, and each display has its own set of workspaces. When you plug in an external display, macOS dynamically creates a new workspace for it. You can then create more workspaces for that display. The current workspace on each display are stitched together when in "multi-display extend mode", which allows applications to move across displays seamlessly. Making an application fullscreen in macOS automatically generates a new workspace to put the application in it, allowing you to easily switch back and forth between full-screen apps and workspaces freely. This also makes it so you *always* have access to your desktop, especially if you only have a single workspace (which is the current macOS and Plasma defaults). >From my attempts to port over my workflow from macOS to Plasma, these things are completely missing, which makes it frustrating for me when I do things like presentations and demos when giving talks. I often take advantage of these features to pre-prepare the second screen with everything I need to present and demo without showing the stuff on my main display or shuffling things around too much. It's also handy for being able to have something like Crunchyroll/YouTube/Hulu/Netflix/etc on the secondary display and still be able to change workspaces on the primary display while I'm doing work and watching TV. I do this fairly often when I'm doing work leisurely. My understanding is that a good chunk of this already exists in Enlightenment, but no other Linux desktop has it, which is a shame. I'd love to see this implemented for Plasma Wayland because it's a massive quality of life improvement for usability, efficiency, and desktop reliability. Note that I'm using Fedora Linux 34 with KDE Plasma, which uses Plasma Wayland by default. I'm currently using Plasma 5.22.4. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441324 Bug ID: 441324 Summary: Ease the process of closing an investment brokerage account. Product: kmymoney Version: 5.1.2 Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org Reporter: jdmo...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- It can be difficult to close an investment brokerage account in kmymoney. Because of the way investment transactions may be recorded, a brokerage account may have a balance in fractions of a cent. So even though the balance may display as 0.00, the account can't be closed because "the balance of the account must be zero before the account can be closed". IOW, the balance just rounds to 0.00, but is not exactly 0 and so the account can't be closed. In trying to close a big brokerage account, I have had to resort to using a perl script obtained from this forum thread: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=160041 to find and fix the transactions causing the rounding problem so the account could be closed. So this is an enhancement request to make this process a little easier. Two possibilities come to mind, but there are probably others: 1 - A new "Clear balance" menu item/button that can be performed on an account, that would create a transaction to clear its balance to exactly 0. 2 - Relax the the requirement that an account balance must be exactly 0 to close it - instead, just require that the account's balance round to 0.00. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 441314] New: Differentiating overview contents from desktop background
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441314 Bug ID: 441314 Summary: Differentiating overview contents from desktop background Product: kwin Version: git master Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: effects-overview Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: sk.griffi...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The new overview appears very promising. However, without dimming the background wallpaper/icons and/or applying a blur layer on it, it becomes difficult to seperate windows. Problem is more pronounced with wallpapers that match theme's background colour, but it would certainly benefit almost all cases if the windows (and maybe workspaces in future) are clearly differentiated from background. Ideally, it would appear to be best if a plasma theme property (such as widget background colour or panel background) is used, however, it will create problem if the overview intend to display panel as well. So it is better if the background is slightly dimmed, and blurred for a visually appealing effect. In case blur is disabled, the dimmed background should be sufficient to differentiate the content -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
