So, will this feature be considered?
And is It feasible to convert Chinese numbers into Arabic numbers before
sorting?But...there're also problems. For example Chinese numbers don't always
represent Arabic numbers in meaning...

[kate] [Bug 441340] New: Tabbar incorrectly displays filenames containing ampersand

2021-08-21 Thread Kishore Gopalakrishnan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441340

Bug ID: 441340
Summary: Tabbar incorrectly displays filenames containing
ampersand
   Product: kate
   Version: 21.08.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kishor...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When the name of a text file contains an ampersand (&) and it is opened in
Kate, the name is incorrectly shown without the ampersand in the tabbar.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make sure 'Settings > show tabs' is enabled.
2. Open a text file called 'terms&conditions.txt' in Kate
3. Press the 'Alt' key

OBSERVED RESULTS
The document name in the tabbar is shown as 'termsconditions.txt'. Pressing
'Alt' underlines the letter 'c', confirming that the ampersand in the document
name has been interpreted as an Alt-accelerator.

EXPECTED RESULTS
The document name should be shown correctly in the tabbar with the ampersand.

SOFTWARE VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Also reproducible on KDE Neon unstable (updated today)

[frameworks-kunitconversion] [Bug 441337] New: Krunner currency conversion plugin cannot be triggered until a dotfile is removed

2021-08-21 Thread Kishore Gopalakrishnan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441337

Bug ID: 441337
Summary: Krunner currency conversion plugin cannot be triggered
until a dotfile is removed
   Product: frameworks-kunitconversion
   Version: 5.85.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: jl...@kde.org
  Reporter: kishor...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The krunner currency conversion plugin cannot be triggered until I delete
`~/.local/share/libkunitconversion/currency.xml` and log in again. Deleting
this file makes the currency conversion work for one session.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In a tty, run `rm ~/.local/share/libkunitconversion/currency.xml`
2. Login (to the graphical session)
3. In krunner, type '1 usd'
4. logout
5. Login
6. In krunner, type '1 usd'

OBSERVED RESULTS
Krunner shows currency conversions after step 3 but not after step 6. Repeating
step 1 and logging in again makes the currency conversion work for one session.

EXPECTED RESULTS
Currency conversion should work after both steps 3 and 6.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A. Also reproducible on KDE Neon unstable (updated today).
B. The `currency.xml` file does not change between steps 3 and 6 of the
reproduction steps (checked with diff), so this does not seem to simply be a
case of a corrupted file.

Difference between preview and editor

SUMMARY

When an image is opened to edit, sometimes (not always) the exposure seems to
be corrected to the worse. See attached screenshot: the left half shows the
embedded jpg preview, the right half shows the editor. The left image is how I
wanted it to look when I set the camera to shoot the picture.

The image is taken in ARW format. (Sony camera)

Neither knowingly nor willingly did I set any option that says I want those
changes to be made when editing an image.

There is a button "Defaults" on the bottom of settings panel from the crop
tool. This will reset the crop view.

You can also use the "Max Aspect" button to use the the aspect ratio on the
image with the maximum area possible to apply.

In both cases, this will make the crop view visible.

[yakuake] [Bug 441332] New: Crash when closing tab with running process

2021-08-21 Thread Javier O . Cordero Pérez
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441332

Bug ID: 441332
Summary: Crash when closing tab with running process
   Product: yakuake
   Version: Git (Frameworks 5)
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: javiercorderope...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Yakuake crashes when closing a tab that has a process running. The process
could be either in foreground or in background, it makes no difference. Most
common cause for crash is closing a tab with a second shell running over the
default shell.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Yakuake
2. Run an interactive program or a program that takes a while to run
3. Close tab while program is running

OBSERVED RESULT
Yakuake crashes

EXPECTED RESULT
Tab is closed and all other tabs continue to work. If no other tabs are
present, tab remains closed until Yakuake's interface is invoked again.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon Testing Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426489 bug may be related

Thanks for the great software! Yakuake's a true productivity booster.

[marble] [Bug 441329] New: Marble Maps mobile app: "Vector OSM" map does not honor Plasma Mobile screen scaling, renders only in upper left corner

2021-08-21 Thread Kevin Kofler
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441329

Bug ID: 441329
Summary: Marble Maps mobile app: "Vector OSM" map does not
honor Plasma Mobile screen scaling, renders only in
upper left corner
   Product: marble
   Version: Marble Maps 1.0 (Android)
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android
  Assignee: marble-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kevin.kof...@chello.at
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I tried the Marble Maps mobile application on Plasma Mobile on my PinePhone.
(The latest I tried is from KDE Gear 21.08.0.) The application defaults to the
"Vector OSM" OpenStreetMap vector data renderer (and actually, I do not see any
way to switch to another map). Unfortunately, the rendering is broken (as
described below) due to mishandling screen scaling.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Get a PinePhone running Manjaro Plasma Mobile (or I presume this can also be
reproduced on any other Plasma Mobile distro).
2. Run Discover and install Marble Maps.
3. Run Marble Maps from the menu.
4. Look at what gets rendered. Also notice how moving around the map does not
resolve the issue.

(Note that I was unable to reproduce this on my desktop computer using desktop
Marble and manually setting QT_SCALE_FACTOR=2.)

OBSERVED RESULT
The screen scaling factor (which defaults to 2.00× on the PinePhone) appears to
be ignored: The map rendering only fills the upper left quarter of the canvas.
(And there is no clipping, so larger features can end up drawing into the
unused remainder of the canvas.)

EXPECTED RESULT
The map rendering fills the entire canvas, either by being scaled to twice the
size, or by just drawing more of the map.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: no
macOS: no
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro-ARM (Plasma Mobile edition)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I filed this against the "android" component because this is with the mobile
Kirigami Marble Maps app originally developed for Android. But I am running
Plasma Mobile, not Android.

  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_proxy
  Assignee: konq-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: ezekielsm...@protonmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Authenticated proxys (name:password@proxy) dont save in proxy settings and will
have the username:password string removed and just leave the proxy address. I
dont know how plasma currently handles proxys but I am currently using gnome
which applys proxy settings as an env variable. Plasma proxy even when it works
doesnt affect env variables and I think that it would be a good idea to since a
lot of applications support it and its useful in terminal. I think this is
quite a big issue since it can cause a lot of issues in workplaces that require
proxys for network access.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open plasma proxy settings
2. Select manual
3. Input a authenticated proxy (username:password@proxy)

OBSERVED RESULT

Proxy will save but once clicked out and gone back into proxy settings it
resets to (proxy) instead of (username:password@proxy)

When using an application such as discover it once again proves the
authentication is ignored and just shows (proxy) normally being unreachable
since the proxy requires authentication.

EXPECTED RESULT

Authenticated proxys to be accepted and also applied to enviromnet variables to
use with terminal or other applications that support enviroment variable
arguments.

With Plasma Wayland, this seems like something that should be more doable now
than it was in years gone by.

I've been doing this on macOS for many years, and it's a major thing I miss in
Plasma.

On macOS, workspaces are assigned to displays, and each display has its own set
of workspaces. When you plug in an external display, macOS dynamically creates
a new workspace for it. You can then create more workspaces for that display.
The current workspace on each display are stitched together when in
"multi-display extend mode", which allows applications to move across displays
seamlessly.

Making an application fullscreen in macOS automatically generates a new
workspace to put the application in it, allowing you to easily switch back and
forth between full-screen apps and workspaces freely. This also makes it so you
*always* have access to your desktop, especially if you only have a single
workspace (which is the current macOS and Plasma defaults).

>From my attempts to port over my workflow from macOS to Plasma, these things
are completely missing, which makes it frustrating for me when I do things like
presentations and demos when giving talks. I often take advantage of these
features to pre-prepare the second screen with everything I need to present and
demo without showing the stuff on my main display or shuffling things around
too much.

It's also handy for being able to have something like
Crunchyroll/YouTube/Hulu/Netflix/etc on the secondary display and still be able
to change workspaces on the primary display while I'm doing work and watching
TV. I do this fairly often when I'm doing work leisurely.

My understanding is that a good chunk of this already exists in Enlightenment,
but no other Linux desktop has it, which is a shame.

I'd love to see this implemented for Plasma Wayland because it's a massive
quality of life improvement for usability, efficiency, and desktop reliability.

Note that I'm using Fedora Linux 34 with KDE Plasma, which uses Plasma Wayland
by default. I'm currently using Plasma 5.22.4.

I believe the cause of those rounding errors has been corrected since 2019, so
this is decreasingly likely to cause a problem. I've referenced another bug
about providing the user with more details on why an account can't be closed.
That way, at least the reason will become more obvious to the user.

[kmymoney] [Bug 441324] New: Ease the process of closing an investment brokerage account.

2021-08-21 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441324

Bug ID: 441324
Summary: Ease the process of closing an investment brokerage
account.
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 5.1.2
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: jdmo...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

It can be difficult to close an investment brokerage account in kmymoney.
Because of the way investment transactions may be recorded, a brokerage account
may have a balance in fractions of a cent. So even though the balance may
display as 0.00, the account can't be closed because "the balance of the
account must be zero before the account can be closed". IOW, the balance just
rounds to 0.00, but is not exactly 0 and so the account can't be closed.

In trying to close a big brokerage account, I have had to resort to using a
perl script obtained from this forum thread:
https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=160041 to find and fix the
transactions causing the rounding problem so the account could be closed.

So this is an enhancement request to make this process a little easier. Two
possibilities come to mind, but there are probably others:

1 - A new "Clear balance" menu item/button that can be performed on an account,
that would create a transaction to clear its balance to exactly 0.

2 - Relax the the requirement that an account balance must be exactly 0 to
close it - instead, just require that the account's balance round to 0.00.

I am new to all that development, so sorry… I am figuring out the workflow…
I test everything on my system. Do not use virtual machine right now.
Crashed Kubuntu 20.04 and installed Kubuntu 21.04.

My problem on both versions is exactly with the following:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/kio_krarc.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/kio_iso.so

On Kubuntu 20.04 I needed:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kio_krarc.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/kio_iso.so
else I can’t open zip.

On Kubuntu 21.04 I need the same:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kio_krarc.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/kio_iso.so

I made commits on github, so you can download my code
https://github.com/empyrea1/krusader
Try it on virtual machine and check whether krusader will open iso and zip.
Plugins should be installed like this:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kio_krarc.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/kio_iso.so

[krusader] [Bug 440560] add overwrite all older + open zip archives with kio_krarc.so plugin

2021-08-21 Thread Toni Asensi Esteve

> /qt5/plugins
The git version of Krusader is not the official one :-) so that FAQ must be
talking about the official one.

> By the way for compilation I also needed libkf5notifications-dev.
Thanks for reporting (although the correct way to report a new issue is in a
new bug report :-) to avoid growing problems). A merge request has been
registered on invent.kde.org/utilities/krusader/-/merge_requests/65, where I
used "empyreal@ukr" instead of your whole email address in order to avoid
spammer software getting your real address :-)

I've started a new virtual machine with Kubuntu 21.04, executed `git clone`
[...], `cmake` [...], `make`, `sudo make install`, and Krusader is able to
enter iso and zip and 7zip files, etc.

There, I executed:
$ find / -xdev -name "kdesu" 2>/dev/null
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libexec/kf5/kdesu
/usr/share/doc/HTML/ca/kdesu

and every file of that list to be in its correct place, being consistent with
the list of 'We have "kf5/" path in following files:' that you wrote.

That's a good hint, would you start a new bug report and copy that information
there?

Thanks for reporting about it, I'm very glad that it works better!

Hi Alvin,
yes of course. Pasting my system info below.
After a bit more investigation I can see that the culprit is my dual screen
setup. Windows seems to be scaling one of my displays by 125% and that seems to
trigger the issue.

SUMMARY
It would be great to have the ability to set static custom titles for Dolphin
tabs, to be shown instead of folder name.
Custom tab title should also remain the same on tab's path change, and be kept
after Dolphin restart - up until tab is closed.

[kwin] [Bug 441314] New: Differentiating overview contents from desktop background

background
   Product: kwin

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: effects-overview
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: sk.griffi...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The new overview appears very promising. However, without dimming the
background wallpaper/icons and/or applying a blur layer on it, it becomes
difficult to seperate windows. Problem is more pronounced with wallpapers that
match theme's background colour, but it would certainly benefit almost all
cases if the windows (and maybe workspaces in future) are clearly
differentiated from background.

Ideally, it would appear to be best if a plasma theme property (such as widget
background colour or panel background) is used, however, it will create problem
if the overview intend to display panel as well. So it is better if the
background is slightly dimmed, and blurred for a visually appealing effect. In
case blur is disabled, the dimmed background should be sufficient to
differentiate the content

[kwin] [Bug 441312] New: Add window titles and icons

2021-08-21 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441312

Bug ID: 441312
Summary: Add window titles and icons
   Product: kwin
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: effects-overview
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

The window thumbnails do not display titles or icons overlaid upon them like
the current Present Windows effect does. It should, because the icons make it
easy to switch windows for people whose brains remember app icons rather than
window thumbnails (like me). and titles probably help people whose brain
remember words.

2021-08-21 Thread Nate Graham

Bug ID: 441310
Summary: Plasma dialogs like Kickoff's popup are not excluded,
but are invisible
   Product: kwin
   Version: git master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: effects-overview
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

If I enter the effect and press the Meta Key, the layout changes to make room
for Kickoff, and an invisible thumbnail for it appears in the heap. It displays
no contents but can be clicked on, which will end the effect and show Kickoff's
popup.

[kwin] [Bug 441309] New: No keyboard navigation on X11

2021-08-21 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441309

  Severity: normal

On X11, keyboard navigation does not appear to work. Nothing is
selected/highlighted by default (maybe the active window should be?) and I
can't move focus to anything using the keyboard with either any of the arrow
keys or the tab key.

By easing both in and out, the window movement feels slow when the effect is
invoked. I would recommend only easing out.

This is another of those "safety valve" things for a user who wants to end the
effect but can't figure out how. Also if you've launched the effect by
accident, being able to end without clicking a window is nice because then it
won't switch to a new one.
