--- Comment #6 from tomtomtomreportin...@gmail.com ---
I would not say this is fully fixed as there is still at least one case where
the status bar doesn't update properly.

Using beta1 git 7f1fe37, reproduction steps:
1. Scroll down presets using scroll wheel.
2. Statusbar updates with unselected preset and selecting new presets won't
update it until hovering out of the docker (rapidly selecting new presets
somewhat fixes it but not completely)

Haven't been been able to reproduce the issue with a stylus though.

[krita] [Bug 442315] New: Dockers resize when leaving canvas-only mode if it's set to also hide the titlebar

2021-09-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442315

Bug ID: 442315
Summary: Dockers resize when leaving canvas-only mode if it's
set to also hide the titlebar
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.0.0-beta1
  Platform: Appimage
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Dockers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tomtomtomreportin...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Certain dockers will resize when leaving canvas-only mode when the mode is set
to also hide the window's titlebar. Depending on how the workspace is set up,
this issue might not be reproducible, however it is reproducible with the
VFX_Paint workspace that's included with Krita.

Not a regression of Krita 5.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Configure Canvas-Only mode so that it hides the Titlebar in Configure Krita
-> Canvas only settings.
2. Select VFX_Paint workspace.
3. Observe current size of the toolbox and advanced color selector dockers.
4. Tab in, tab out.

OBSERVED RESULT
The toolbox has gotten smaller and the advanced color selector docker has
gotten bigger. Repeat tabbing to exaggerate the effect.

EXPECTED RESULT
Dockers should keep their original size.

Is there an up-to-date branch that can be tried out? Earlier comments are from
2014 suggesting there was a branch that was incomplete then.

My situation: I have effectively three email accounts. My home email account
is on Dovecot IMAP, but my workplace has decided to adopt Office365 (not my
decision, looking forward to no work email when it stops working on Feb29 each
leap year), which despite IMAP namespaces being a Microsoft creation, instead
uses whole separate accounts to represent shared mail directories.

That means that I need to be able to log in to Office365 as both
m...@example.com, and as me\mail...@example.com; simultaneously. --profile
isn't
workable as the whole point of a shared mail box is that you can move emails in
and out of it from your own personal account.

Having experimented with Trojitá it's looking promising, but I'm having to put
up with Claws mail in the interim due to this bug.

I'm affected. I have a laptop with NVidia prime configuration, with both a
touchpad and a connected USB mouse, if that's relevant.

It happens every time when computer goes to sleep automatically due to
inactivity timeout. After resuming, I always have an extra dead cursor
permanently displayed.

"kwin_wayland --replace" is somewhat a workaround, faster than rebooting, but
it still kills the running apps. Any better (less drastic) workaround while it
is not fixed?

(In reply to wolthera from comment #2)

The only solution I can come up with is a new pixel art brush engine.

Each brush position update, calculate if affected pixel's 'center' points are
within the circle of the brush, if so, color it in. If not, don't.

I'd image the extremely simplified calculations would allow the spacing to be
not only extremely small, but possibly even interpolated even further between
updates ensuring there's no gaps like what show up currently.

Thanks for that. The files certainly seem wacky. Different apps, different
results. Possibly related to the libs they use? BTW I tried digikam 7.0 beta 2,
no change.

For the sake of it https://www.webb-dev.co.uk/ I had a look with exifprobe,
that starts to output https://waytowhatsnext.com/ some maker notes, then
segfaults. exiftool runs through fine, but I have to admit I am not sure if the
maker notes are output.

The man pages of exiftool mention that: "A common problem with some image
editors is http://www.iu-bloomington.com/ that offsets in the maker notes are
not adjusted properly when the file is modified. " Maybe it depends on the
cleverness (?) or resillience of the reader to handle that kind of damage?

No http://www.wearelondonmade.com/ bug, an unfavorable situation. The tags are
in the image and not in the sidecar. If you disable the reading of sidecars,
http://connstr.net/ the tags are displayed correctly. The problem is that with
activated reading of sidecars this priority has. http://embermanchester.uk/ If
an entry in the sidecar does not exist, it must be assumed that it has been
deleted, and therefore is not displayed, even if it is present in the image.

Shows corruption
http://www.compilatori.com/
SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install digiKam on Windows 10.
2. When you select a RAW photo, it randomly gets horribly corrupted (taken with
Nokia 9 PureView, at least) http://www.acpirateradio.co.uk/
3. Interestingly, issue propagates, and also happens in other programs as
RawTherapee (5.8) BUT NOT TO LIGHTROOM. At least, it hasn't happened yet.
4. Also of note, the medium RAW image that serves for the miniature,
http://www.logoarts.co.uk/ doesn't seem to care either, even though is supposed
to be the RAW itself, not a preview.
4. Can't be traced what triggers this, so I don't know if its camera (Nokia 9
PureView) or software related. But as said Lightroom doesn't show this
http://www.slipstone.co.uk/ behaviour.

OBSERVED RESULT
Image corrupted under both digiKam or RawTherappe, but not Lightroom, although
processing seems different. http://embermanchester.uk/

EXPECTED RESULT
Not corrupted Image.

For me, DNG + sidecar are not management differently than RAW + sidecar. If
yes, this state is not necessary as DNG is a https://www.webb-dev.co.uk/
TIFF/EP pure compliant which is perfectly supported for writing operation by
Exiv2. It's not a read only RAW format.

Also, http://www.iu-bloomington.com/ later 7.3.0, ExifTool will help us to
write metadata in RAW file. So the necessity tio use exclusively a sidecar with
RAW files will become a past. Of course, ExifTool do not support all RAW
formats in writing mode, but at least all major. And yes,
http://www-look-4.com/ not all users want to touch the RAW files, so the option
to support sidecar with RAW must still available for ever...

I'm trying to use Digikam to establish a photo processing workflow entirely
based on open source software. http://www.compilatori.com/

On the input/import end, I'm using OsmAnd on Android to collect GPS tracks,
OpenCamera on Android to take photos. Then I use Digikam to GPS correlate
tracks & photos from my discrete http://connstr.net/ camera (and also to
supplement Android photos with DOP values from the OsmAnd tracks, which the
Android platform doesn't yet support recording in EXIF natively). Currently, I
do all other editing & photo processing within Digikam. http://joerg.li/

For exporting, I typically publish (currently via batch uploads of files
through the web interfaces of each platform) to five different target
platforms: Strava (a group for http://www.jopspeech.com/ stewards of our local
wilderness trail), Facebook (valuable to support discussions with a broader
community not on other platforms), Flickr (mostly as fairly large, "free" cloud
storage), Wordpress (self-hosted), and iNaturalist. Anything I can do to
automate / optimize / cut out redundancy in my workflow would greatly improve
life for me.

A significant barrier in this workflow to uploading efficiently to the
iNaturalist platform is submissions through their web interface of large photo
sets. In Chromium, http://www.wearelondonmade.com/ it is necessary to partition
sets of greater than about 30 photos at a time into subsets, otherwise my
Atom-based workstation with 8G RAM runs out of memory to handle the page.
Integration with Digikam done properly would likely help with this.

The main feature request & other useful features all sound like things that
would help me too. I'd love to see something started, and then those additional
requests filed as separate wishlists once work is underway.

As a professional software developer, primarily in Ruby these days, but with
some proficiency in other languages, and also as a Debian developer of some
years, helping develop an iNaturalist export extension for digikam is certainly
something I'd be interested in exploring. I must caution, though, that I have
no KDE development experience. I don't think that's a huge barrier to me making
some sort of contribution, but it probably rules me out as being a driver for
this effort.

Hi there,

As a powerful digikam user and also a naturalist, I think that an export
feature to inaturalist would be very helpful.
http://www.compilatori.com/
ackground:

inaturalist is a community website which allow to identify both plants and
animals based upon pictures: http://www-look-4.com/ we submit a picture, add
geotag and a date if there are not embedded in the metadatas, suggest a species
and the community will help us to define very precisely the species which have
been shooted. http://www.iu-bloomington.com/

main feature request:
https://www.webb-dev.co.uk/
being able to export to inaturalist from digikam like the google photos export
does (automatic login, save credentials, convert raw files into the supported
formats by inaturalist). https://waytowhatsnext.com/

others useful features requests:

- Being able to identify from digikam which files have been submitted and which
not: it will avoid to being able to compare your submissions from inaturalist
website and digikam, task which can be time consuming.

- Having an option which doesn't allow submission of pictures which don't have
embedded geotag: this is not a real problem in inaturalist to set afterward the
geotag, but this is another time we'll have to contribute afterward in
inaturalist: it should be done only in digikam, and inaturalist would be there
only for identification.

- being able to embed the taxonomy which have been defined in inaturalist in
the pictures tags: taxnonomy is a very complex classification, and copy them in
the pictures tags is a very long task if we do numerous submissions.
>From my side, I copy all the taxonomy found in inaturalist in my pictures. Our
exchanges on the mailing list highlight that not everyone copy all the taxonomy
so perhaps being able to configure which part of the taxonomy should be copied
would be useful. Take care: taxonomy is provided in differents languages. We
should be able to configure in which lang the taxonomy would be embedded.

As an aside Ubuntu 18.04 has LibRaw 0.19.5 in the repository. As digikam
appimage has all built in, that is irrelevant. http://www.logoarts.co.uk/
Manually upgrading to current exiv2 0.27.2, brings no change in reading the
metadata.

I had a look with exiftool the output for http://www.acpirateradio.co.uk/ an
original S3Pro raw file and the converted DNG. Looking with diff, they are
hugely different.

Could it be an issue of the raw handler that is used? http://www.jopspeech.com/
What is the big difference between Rawtherapee and digikam in this sense?
Thinking into a different direction: could http://joerg.li/ it be that
Rawtherapee demosaics the file before displaying it?

Unfortunately my coding days are long gone, so I'd be challenged to research
into, how the "logic" works here. http://connstr.net/

Maik, you seem to hint that progress with exiv2 is "slowish". What relevance
does exiv2 have for interpreting the raw/dng files? I'm trying to figure out
where the glitch is most likely to be. http://embermanchester.uk/

Thanks,

The problem is, there is no good interface for this (at least nobody found one
yet) that allows to have for KDE stuff the auto-coloring but not touching such
global things. http://www.compilatori.com/

Inside a KDE Plasma session, another plugin will ensure the KIconEngine

I am sorry that you had these issues, it was not clear from testing that our
icon loader behaves differently from the Qt one (beside additional features Qt
applications won't be able to use anyways).

I understand from http://www.slipstone.co.uk/ that DNGs can be used to store
multiple JPEGs with PI edits done on them, and include that PIE data as well,
along with hash verification of each photo to ensure that it has not been
corrupted. I may be incorrect, http://embermanchester.uk/

Interesting solution, to use ffmpeg to wrap image data in QImage container...

Probably other new image container based on wavelets compression and video
codec can be handle by this way, JPEG-XR and BPG.

There are 3 possible bugs : http://www.compilatori.com/

1/ In libraw. After all the Raw mosaic extraction is done with this lib. For
the DNG converter, there is no demosaicing stage. https://waytowhatsnext.com/
The RAw matrix is taken as well as a bytearray and passed to the Adobe SDK for
encoding.
 http://www.acpirateradio.co.uk/
Note : libraw is also used to extract the color matrix of the RAW data, which
is different than all format. I remember that lead libraw author report me that
this matrix was deducted by reverse engineering using...
http://www.logoarts.co.uk/ Adobe DNG converter (:=))). It's and old talk by
mail, and it's difficult to get the right words to explain.

So perhaps the colors matrix need to be updated in libraw, simply...
http://www.slipstone.co.uk/

2/ The DNG converter code as well. The way to play with Adobe SDK API is
complex and of course code can be bugous. http://embermanchester.uk/

If you is curious code is in gitlab :

... and search 'fuji" string to see all specificity to handle colors matrix and
rotation of raw data.

3/ The Adobe DNG sdk is too old. Code was not updated since 2012, and Adobe has
released 2 new versions since this date. http://connstr.net/
I created few weeks ago a new devel branch in git and updated the DNG sdk to
last version, applied fix to compile and tried to use : it crash quickly. So

These JPEG are calculated automatically as official Adobe DNG Converter do.
There is https://www.webb-dev.co.uk/ no plan to append more JPEG by manual

I know there is no problem in Okular and this is a problem of Popler, i think
there is a posible way for partial solution. Okular could automaticly change
non-ASCII letters to similar ASCII characters. Example:

In "Berberoğlu", letter "ğ" could change to g, and at least we can see
"Berberoglu" instead of "Berberolu".

However, when I drag a file and drop it on a fat32 device in Places panel and
choose "Link here"

[neon] [Bug 442309] New: KDE neon (Live from USB) changes clock under Windows 10

2021-09-11 Thread BOF
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442309

Bug ID: 442309
Summary: KDE neon (Live from USB) changes clock under Windows
10
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Live/Install images
  Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: bugs_kde_org.5.k...@spamgourmet.com
CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have a Laptop with Windows 10 as it's main OS. Sometimes I use KDE neon as a
live system for a USB stick for testing. When I boot KDE neon, restart and boot
back into Windows 10 the system clock is changed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Windows 10 as you main OS
2. Run KDE neon from a USB stick (and ?do nothing? -> see "ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION")
3. Boot back into Windows 10 and see the clock changed

OBSERVED RESULT
The clock is changed by -2 hours. I guess this is because I live in a +2 hours
timezone and KDE neon resets it to +0.
It's easy to fix on Windows 10: Open the time settings and toggle the setting
to automatically get the time off and back on.

EXPECTED RESULT
KDE neon should not change the settings - especially as live system from a USB
stick

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 10 Home (Version 20H2; build 19042.1165)
Linux/KDE Plasma: Will be checked the next time I use the live system (I used
neon-user-20210902-0945)
KDE Plasma Version: per above
KDE Frameworks Version: per above
Qt Version: per above

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Own Laptop: MSI Bravo 17

This *might* be related to KDE neon connecting to the internet. So when KDE
neon is connected to the internet it changes the time setting, if it isn't it
does not. I need to retest this though.

I tested this bug on a company laptop and there it did not change the time.
HOWEVER: That PC had a locked BIOS/UEFI and the Win 10 system was encrypted (So
I would have been surprised very much if KDE neon managed to change the time
setting over there)

A though: Would KDE neon change the date as well on New Years Eve when I'm
already in the next year, but +0 is not?

[digikam] [Bug 432140] Cannot reassign face to 'ignored'

2021-09-11 Thread Jens
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432140

Adding to this bug because mine was marked as duplicate.

The feature works as described, but the "Ignored" tag is confusing.

It should not appear as a dropdown selection option if it cannot be assigned
that way. But in this case it should also be available as a third button while
viewing the image with its face rectangles to make the user experience
consistent. So we have buttons for "add", "ignore" and "delete" a face
rectangle.

Also, the "Ignored" tag in the left sidebar should be "special (maybe by
default in a different color, or with a custom icon, or not be deletable, or
...).

2021-09-11 Thread Jens
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442303

OK, I get it but this is confusing since there are two meanings for "-".

Clicking on "-" while viewing the image will remove the face, but it will be
redetected when re-running the deteection algorithm.

Clicking on "-" while in the "People" browser will do as you described.

Can we maybe unify this experience so that we have

- (+) Accept and tag face
- (/) Ignore face (& move to "Ignored" category)
- (-) Remove this face (& don't detect it again) because this isn't a face

in both views?

[plasmashell] [Bug 436061] Extreme memory usage on idle system

2021-09-11 Thread J.O. Aho
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=436061

I had a bad episode a few days ago, one or two sessions plasmashell had used up
61G RAM and caused a heavy use of the 8G swap, which made the machine
completely unresponsive, wasn't possible to login in via ssh, screen frozen but
heavy use of the SSD on which the swap slice is located on.

At that time I had the following installed:
plasma: 5.22.5
kde framework: 5.85.0
Qt: 5.15.2
Kernel: 5.13.12 (64bit)
Xorg: 1.20.13
nVidia driver: 470.63.01

My current session has raised from 0.8% to 1.2% of the 63G that is left after
kernel has been loaded.
It seems that there are quite many ThreadWeaver threads in GlobalQueue, and it
don't seems to be flushed out at all, it just keep on getting more of those.

See gdb_for_pid_13064.txt

2021-09-11 Thread Eugene Shalygin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442308

Bug ID: 442308
Summary: High CPU usage with network activity
   Product: plasma-systemmonitor
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ksysguard-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: eugene.shalygin+bugzilla@gmail.com

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 141477
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=141477=edit
illustration

Basically a duplicate of #414036 with very same problem: any network activity
maxes out CPU usage of the monitor app, so that it eats up the whole CPU core.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open system monitor
2. Got to the "Applications" tab
3. Initiate network activity

OBSERVED RESULT

The monitor app utilizes a full CPU core.

[konsole] [Bug 442306] New: Konsole doesn't send Ctrl+Left click to terminal application

2021-09-11 Thread Gustavo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442306

Bug ID: 442306
Summary: Konsole doesn't send Ctrl+Left click to terminal
application
   Product: konsole
   Version: 20.12.3
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: keyboard
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: cadast...@claroenigma.com.br
  Target Milestone: ---

Hi!

I'm a user of the Kakoune editor. One of its features is multiple selections,
that is, multiple cursors each selecting a different region of text.

To manually place a new selection, we can use Ctrl + Left mouse click. It works
well on every terminal I've tested so far except Konsole, which seems to not
send the corresponding event to Kakoune.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Install any recent version of Kakoune (the version in your distro repo
should do the job, albeit colors will only work properly on Konsole with the
last Kakoune's release: version 2021.08.28; this bug can be reproduced also in
previous versions though)

2. Run `kak` in Konsole; it will open a scratch buffer

3. Press `Ctrl+Left click` on any word in that scratch buffer

OBSERVED RESULT

The cursor jumps to the word pointed by the mouse as if the `Ctrl` modifier is
not pressed.

EXPECTED RESULT

A new cursor should be created at the mouse position, adding to the cursor
already present when Kakoune starts, resulting in two cursors.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 21.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.21.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.80.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Also tested on Opensuse Tumbleweed with Konsole 21.08.1.

Tweaking settings in `Settings -> Edit current profile -> Mouse ->
Miscellaneous` doesn't take any effect on the observed behaviour.

Terminal emulators I can attest `Ctrl+Left click` works properly: Kitty,
Alacritty, Gnome Terminal, Wezterm.

2021-09-11 Thread Lyubomir
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442304

Firefox Nightly and Firefox 92 Stable can reproduce this issue, but please test
in Nightly as it has a lot of Wayland-related changes and i believe that the
issue is exacerbated there.

If Firefox Nightly is extracted in /opt/firefox/ for example you should run
Nightly with the following commands:
export MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1
/opt/firefox/firefox

nd just as I reported this there's an update: seems to happen at random as
well, not only when some sliders are muted and others are not

[plasma-pa] [Bug 442305] New: muting a source or output sometimes greys out the nobs of unmuted sliders

2021-09-11 Thread Reid
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442305

Bug ID: 442305
Summary: muting a source or output sometimes greys out the nobs
of unmuted sliders
   Product: plasma-pa
   Version: 5.22.5
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: applet
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: this.is.r...@tutanota.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 141475
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=141475=edit
the nobs are both grayed out and semi-transparent

SUMMARY
muting a source or output sometimes greys out the nobs of unmuted
sources/outputs

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. have a source and an input in the volume applet (may also work with 2
outputs, couldn't test)
2. mute one and make sure the other is unmuted

OBSERVED RESULT
see attachment, both nobs are grayed out, can also see a small white line on
the unnmuted slider, likely an artifact of the slider being both grayed out and
not grayed out

EXPECTED RESULT
only the muted slider should be grayed out
