[kwin] [Bug 442720] New: transient window cannot be focused after focusing a windowed_fullscreen game
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442720 Bug ID: 442720 Summary: transient window cannot be focused after focusing a windowed_fullscreen game Product: kwin Version: 5.22.4 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: core Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: redartofc...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I have successfully set my overlay window above the game in windowed fullscreen by using either the "critical notification" window type or setting "transient_for" attribute with the game window id. BUT even if the overlay is visible, I cannot interact with it after i focus the game. The overlay window can only be interacted with IF i alt-tab to it, otherwise it just stays visible but with no way to focus it with mouse. Is this the intended behavior or should the visible window should be focusable? STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. run a game in windowed_fullscreen mode. 2. create a new window the attribute transient_for set to the game window id 3. click in the game window to focus it, then try to click on the new window which will just do nothing for the transient window and instead interact with the game window. OBSERVED RESULT Transient Window still appears above the game, but is not clickable/focusable unless we use alt-tab EXPECTED RESULT Clicking on a Transient Window should focus it just like it would happen if the game was running in normal window mode. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: kernel 5.10.66 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION this is related to my attmept of keeping a overlay window above a windowed fullscreen window, which is how it works on windows. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441074 Pretty much the same issue with setting the window type to "_KDE_NET_WM_WINDOW_TYPE_CRITICAL_NOTIFICATION" which technically makes the window visible over the game window, but doesn't accept focus. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I restarted the programme and repeated these actions with the same result, so I unistalled the programme and re-installed it again with the same result, then uninstalled it again. I downloaded all the update files from the first openSuse 'install', then re-installed Kpat to find that the behaviour was just the same. I'm new to this style of 'reportage' (and the file systems used), but could there be a need for a 'graphical interface' to simplify the identity of 'duff sectors' of an old HD such as I use for this O/S (similar to the 'win' 'chkdsk' application)? If there is one it needs to be 'advertised'. - Custom settings of the application: None. This activity caused the 'crash'. Hope this helps. If there is a child directory named "somefolder", and another child directory named "somefolder_A", the latter is incorrectly displayed first in the list of suggestions, contrary to the order that Dolphin itself displays its directories. If using the "Automatic" or "Dropdown List & Automatic", this actually causes a very annoying behavior that makes it pretty hard to enter "somefolder". If we type in the exact full path to "somefolder" (without the trailing slash), the completion mechanism will suggest "somefolder_A" and that is where we are taken if we press ENTER. This also happens if we have a "somefolder.A" or "somefolder-A", probably even other special characters. It doesn't happen if the next character after the "somefolder" string is a letter or a number. See attached screenshot for clarification. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create a folder named "~/test" 2. Inside this new "~/test" folder, create directories "somefolder" and "somefolder_A" 3. In Dolphin, make the location bar editable, right-click it and make sure "Dropdown List & Automatic" is selected under the "Text Completion" menu. 4. Manually type "~/test/somefolder" (without quotes) into the location bar, but don't press ENTER yet. 5. Observe the bugged ordering in the dropdown list 6. Observe that it is suggesting to autocomplete to "~/test/somefolder_A" 7. Press ENTER. You will be taken to "~/test/somefolder_A". But you typed the exact path to "~/test/somefolder", your intention was likely to go to "~/test/somefolder". OBSERVED RESULT We see that special characters currently have priority over an "End-Of-String" char in this ordering EXPECTED RESULT "End-Of-String" char should have priority over any other character SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.14.5-arch1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I enabled the Specific Color Selector so I could see > the numbers of the colors, and they all changed properly. Odd. I can consistently reproduce the bug on my end, even as I'm typing this comment in version 4.4.8. If need be I can find some screen recording software and show the bug in action. Also going to raise the possibility of it being an OS-related bug, if you're not using Windows. I've had Krita just break when selecting colors after a Windows Update, but the devs pushed out an update shortly after and fixed it. Plus I did get pushed a Windows Update a couple of days ago, hence the possibility. :Oc -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Committed on 19/09/2021 at 19:37. Pushed by bdevries into branch 'master'. Enable multi-selection and context menus on all lists of entries This commit adds keyboard navigation to entry lists. Selection of items can be done through keyboard (shift+up/down), mouse (left, left+shift, left+ctrl) or touch (long press). When items are selected, contextual actions will show up on the page (useful for touch screens), or, alternatively, a context menu with the same actions can be opened through right mouse click (useful for desktop). If a single entry is selected, then only the relevant actions will be shown (e.g. only "Mark as Played" if the entry has not been played yet). Additionally, (database) transactions for the actions have been optimized. This was necessary to make sure that actions on large selections of entries finish within an acceptable time. E.g. actions on a list of 1000 items should finish within a few seconds (on all but underpowered hardware). [plasmashell] [Bug 442706] New: [Plasma][Wayland] Constant micro-reloading of Plasmashell cripples Wayland sessions making it unusable
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442706 Bug ID: 442706 Summary: [Plasma][Wayland] Constant micro-reloading of Plasmashell cripples Wayland sessions making it unusable Product: plasmashell Version: 5.22.4 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: temptem...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY I'm only putting "Normal" severity because I haven't seen many complaints about this but Plasma on Wayland is useless for me with this bug as it is. Plasma constantly re-detects my screens, creating some sort of micro-stutter all over the session (interrupts keystrokes as well as it steals focus from the current window). It does so on Xorg, polluting my logs as well, but it poses real problems on the Wayland session. After enough time of this behaviour, PlasmaShell will eventually crash: [...] QObject::connect: Cannot queue arguments of type 'Consumer::ServiceStatus' (Make sure 'Consumer::ServiceStatus' is registered using qRegisterMetaType().) kf.plasma.quick: Couldn't create KWindowShadow for ToolTipDialog(0x56130a032c30) kf.plasma.quick: Couldn't create KWindowShadow for ToolTipDialog(0x56130a032c30) kf.plasma.quick: Couldn't create KWindowShadow for ToolTipDialog(0x56130a032c30) file:///usr/lib/qt/qml/org/kde/plasma/components/ModelContextMenu.qml:38:1: QML ModelContextMenu: Accessible must be attached to an Item wl_display@1: error 0: invalid object 2015 The Wayland connection experienced a fatal error: Argument invalide [...] Culminating at some ~2GB RAM when it does usually. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have 2 monitors. Have them plugged in with one suspended (off from an XRENDER PoV) 2. Use Plasma 5.22.x 3. Observe UI being weirdly refresh every ~5 secs and loosing focus OBSERVED RESULT Session is hardly usable EXPECTED RESULT Normal operation like under Xorg. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.13.12-zen1-1-zen (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor Memory: 31.3 Gio of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Video illustration: https://transfert.free.fr/download/Pa9fks7MSljLYVzYP5UqbatpUY -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasma-nm] [Bug 416643] Importing opvn-file doesnt import tls-crypt-cert
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416643 --- Comment #3 from Erik Logtenberg --- Actually, please mind that it's not but or for the per-client variant. This is somewhat confusing because the setting is "tls-crypt somefile" but the corresponding tag is "" without the dash. For v2 it's "tls-cryptv2 somefile" versus "" so with a dash but at another location :D More details here: https://openvpn.net/vpn-server-resources/tls-control-channel-security-in-openvpn-access-server/ Anyway, tag gets ignored by importer so it's still the same issue, just wanted to point this out for clarity. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasma-nm] [Bug 416643] Importing opvn-file doesnt import tls-crypt-cert
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=416643 Erik Logtenberg changed: What|Removed |Added CC||e...@logtenberg.eu Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED --- Comment #2 from Erik Logtenberg --- Plasma-nm 5.20.5 here, same issue. Related: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/NetworkManager-openvpn/-/issues/54 setting gets ignored, as a result, openvpn can't connect. What would be worse (and I haven't extensively tested this, but it seems possible), is that one of the security features in openvpn config gets ignored, while connecting still works. Result: user is not aware of ignored settings as everyting appears to work, all the while security is now less. I would suggest fixing this in such a way that either the full .ovpn file gets successfully parsed, every single line included - or importer throws an error at the user about unsupported settings in .ovpn file, to prevent this kind of "silent" failing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
