[kwin] [Bug 443872] New: Inconsistent adaptive sync behavior in KWin Wayland session
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443872 Bug ID: 443872 Summary: Inconsistent adaptive sync behavior in KWin Wayland session Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Debian testing OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: shtetl...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- I just tried Plasma 5.23.0 (built for Debian testing) since it has a number of major Wayland related bugs fixed, and noticed a problem with adaptive sync. When running Cyberpunk 2077 game (Wine-staging + vkd3d-proton), framerate hovers around 70-85 fps in the game for me. Monitor's built in refresh rate meter shows that adaptive sync is working (most of the time it indeed matches the framerate fluctuating around 70-85 Hz), but it also periodically jumps to 144 Hz which looks strange, since Mesa HUD which I use with the game to compare never shows framerate jumping that high and it's my monitor's limit. In X11 Kwin session I don't see such behavior in the same place in the game and monitor's built in meter never shows such spikes in refresh rate. Configuration details: * Plasma / KWin: 5.23.0 * Display setting for adaptive sync: automatic. * GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 6800 XT. * Display: LG 27GL850 (144 Hz, adaptive sync capable, DisplayPort connection). * Wine-staging: 6.16 (the game runs in XWayland) * Wayland: 1.19.0 * XWayland: 1.20.11 * Kernel / amdgpu: 5.14.12 * Mesa: recent main build - 22.0.0-devel (git-d31ca63527) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Although it is possible to duplicate a dock and then move the duplicate to another monitor, this unlinks their configuration meaning that changes to one won't affect the other. What I'm proposing is that as well as having explicit screen configurations as well as a follow primary screen, it'd be cool to have an "all screens" option so that the dock or panel would appear on all screens that are available. [plasmashell] [Bug 422111] Battery applet not showing up in tray.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422111 --- Comment #76 from Sam Edwards --- No worries, I figured as much. :) Small update: I switched to a new laptop recently, and even when booting the exact same disk image, the problem doesn't happen for me at all anymore. I still have the old laptop for trying out patches, but I can't troubleshoot this problem quite as easily now. This new laptop has 16 (logical) processors while the previous had 4. I'm wondering if this race only happens when all N threads used by KDE startup are forced to use a smaller set of processors (everybody else who has reported this has 8 or 4 processors). It might be worthwhile to try taking 12 of my processors offline and restarting KDE to see if that brings the race back. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

In a dark screen, 5% is too high and 0% is turned off (actually, 1% is still a bit too high on this screen for my eyes, being able to set 0.5% would be perfect). Committed on 16/10/2021 at 21:29. Pushed by ahmadsamir into branch 'release/21.08'. kio_filenamesearch: fix crash due to KCoreDirLister changes Error reporting was changed in KCoreDirlister, to match the original behaviour we need to explicitly disable auto error handling. This fixes a crash while searching in Dolphin, kio_filenamesearch intrenally uses a dirlister, and a nested event loop, if there is an error while listing some dir it tries to report it using a job ui delegate, but the parent job could well be dead by that time, which causes a crash: "QWidget: Cannot create a QWidget without QApplication" Note that this crash only happens if KDE_FORK_SLAVES is _not_ set. FIXED-IN: 21.08.3 (cherry picked from commit 5dff395ecea2977cf149c293c16c4d4a5151493b) M +1-0filenamesearch/kio_filenamesearch.cpp https://invent.kde.org/network/kio-extras/commit/c3d52ebecb7f4890e8a412930bce9c74fc9e2f1f -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443855 Bug ID: 443855 Summary: Options to disable middle click paste, but keep middle mouse click Product: systemsettings Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: kcm_mouse Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: bronsonmath...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I have several web apps that rely on middle mouse for panning and navigation. However it always pastes my clipboard into the app. This is a real nightmare as it pastes in confidential information or whatever you have in the clipboard. Figma (https://www.figma.com/) is a prime example of this. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Middle mouse text field, notice it pastes. OBSERVED RESULT Paste on middle mouse.
