I have the same issue with the application menu widget in my latte top panel.
For me, it seems like the issue can randomly start happening even during normal
usage, not just after sleep.
The time it takes for the issue to start after every reboot varies, but once it
happens once, it'll start to reoccur every 10 minutes or so (after which I
restart kwin without rebooting and wait another 10 min)

Missing encryption entries in "context menu"

That's strange, I don't have any encryption-related entries...

I'm not sure how proper it is to keep posting on a "resolved" bug report, but I
would like to find the cause for this and politely ask for help. How should I
go about this?

FWIW, starting Dolphin in a terminal and navigating to the context menu entries
shows me these two warnings:
> kf.coreaddons: "Could not find plugin kcms/kcm_trash"
> kf.itemviews: User of KWidgetItemDelegate should not delete widgets created
> by createItemWidgets!

It would be great to be able to adjust the timeout (currently 30s) value in the

We don't have a bug category for the old Kickoff and it is not officially
supported by KDE. If there is someone maintaining a fork of the old Kickoff, it
is better to report the bug on their bug tracker since they are the ones
actually doing the work of maintaining it. If it's a GitLab or GitHub repo,
that would be their Issues section.

Yeah, this is intentional; we always center titles regardless of what the app
specifies. Unless this behaviour breaks any apps, I don't think it's that
harmful to do it, and improves visual consistency. Marking as RESOLVED

if this does break something.

I was experimenting with using Howdy for some facial recognition unlocks, but
somewhere along the line, I realized that my computer stopped
suspending/locking when the lid was closed! I uninstalled howdy, and it went
back to normal, and investigating `systemd-inhibit` the only difference was
that suspend worked when `UPower` was not present. However, I removed howdy,
and now `Upower` is still there, but it is listed as a dependency of kio, so I
can't remove it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install howdy
2. reboot
3. Check if upower shows up with `systemd-inhibit`
4. If it is, close lid of laptop
5. Open lid, and computer screen goes straight to desktop without any waiting.

OBSERVED RESULT
Screen doesn't lock or suspend

EXPECTED RESULT
It used to lock and suspend just fine.

Ohh I see, "Group by series" does this, but it unflattens the hierarchy, so all

[peruse] [Bug 450849] New: Right context drawer is useless

2022-02-25 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450849

Bug ID: 450849
Summary: Right context drawer is useless
   Product: peruse
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ad...@leinir.dk
  Reporter: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Peruse has a right context drawer with two actions in it:
- Back
- Open Selected book

As mentioned in other bug reports (Bug 450848 and Bug 450847) these actions are
rarely useful and do not need to be displayed so prominently.

Beyond the usefulness of the actions, the drawer is unnecessary because both of
those actions are always available on the toolbar. SO there is no need to also
put them in a drawer.

Peruse's main toolbar has a "Back" button on it which is disabled most of the
time. This wastes space and is inconsistent with how Kirigami apps generally do
page navigation: the back and forward buttons are contextual and only appear
when needed.

Books are single-click/tap only; they always open when clicked or tapped. This
means that if you already have your hand on the cursor, you can just click on
the book you want to open. If you are using a touchscreen device, you can tap
the book you want. If you are on the desktop navigating with the keyboard and
have actually managed to get a book selected but not opened, it is faster to
use the return or enter key to open the selected book. There is no use case
where clicking on the "Open Selected Book" button is faster than your current
input device's primary method of opening things.

Yes. I had a session (check screenshot) . I opened: "Session -> Quick Open
session -> Anonymous" and in next window I clicked "Discard"> After that view
of Kate window changed and ,magically my changes appeared. Seems something was
cached incorrectly.

Your scenario works.

I wonder why when I use "New session" from option "Session" I don't get any
question for new session name only is opened new document. I open new, modify,
try to close and Kate asks me for saving. So seems any (default) session wasn't
created. If this doesn't work, so I'm not I'm not able to create new session
from GUI. When I do the same using option "Manage Session -> New Session" I get
the same result. Please check this. I can raise bug for this if you confirm
that this is the bug.

Given that krita works fine on many different Windows 10 computers and using
many different Wacom drawing tablets and display tablets, I'd suggest that this
is a severe problem associated with your Wacom Mobile Studio Pro which is a
combined computer and drawing/display tablet.

Please go to https://krita-artists.org/ (sign up and log in are needed) then
create a New Topic there in the General Questions category. People there will
be able to give suggestions for 'things to try doing'.
You can include a link to this bug report as introductory information.

useful to me as they show no data. I'd like to just have a way to see the
filesystem organization I've already set up.

For comparison, Elisa gives you the ability to this with its "Files" view.

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

When Peruse is used on the desktop where there is plenty of space, its left
drawer is frustrating to use. It functions as a navigation sidebar, but is only
visible when specifically invoked using the hamburger button. Using hamburger
buttons for navigation is a recommended-against UI convention; see for example
https://www.nngroup.com/articles/hamburger-menus/

Auto-hiding leads to usability issues such as not knowing how to go back or
return to the main navigation. For example when I open the Settings page, there
is no clear way to leave it once I'm done.

For at least the desktop view, consider making the drawer into a
constantly-visible sidebar, like Discover has done.

I'm encountering this on an up-to-date Arch Linux system.

Plasma Desktop: 5.24.2
KDE Frameworks: 5.91.0
Qt: 5.15.2
Platform: X11
Hardware: Nvidia

The bug can be reproduced consistently on my multi-monitor setup:

1. Open "Display Configuration" in System Settings
2. Disable primary monitor
3. Enable primary monitor after some time

The above steps are sufficient to reproduce the problem. Restarting
kwin/plasmadesktop does not help. The problem does not occur on a fresh restart
though. The monitor needs to be disabled to reproduce it.

Examining with Journalctl, I see :

Return 0 for Window if there is no widget

This should be safe: I've checked all calls to window() in the
ui automation module, and they all check whether 0 is returned
before dereferencing the pointer.

[konqueror] [Bug 450840] New: Screen sharing needs additional chromium options

2022-02-25 Thread Antonio Rojas
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450840

Bug ID: 450840
Summary: Screen sharing needs additional chromium options
   Product: konqueror
   Version: Git
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: webenginepart
  Assignee: konq-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: aro...@archlinux.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Screen sharing on Wayland doesn't work out of the box, since the
WebRTCPipeWireCapturer chromium options is disabled by default.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to https://mozilla.github.io/webrtc-landing/gum_test.html
2. Click "Screen capture" and accept permissions

OBSERVED RESULT
Black screen

EXPECTED RESULT
Screen is shared

Setting the env variable
QTWEBENGINE_CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--enable-features=WebRTCPipeWireCapturer" makes it
work.
Note that QtWebengine crashes when compiled with pipewire 0.2 if the compositor
is running a recent pipewire version, so in order to test this a patched
QtWebengine is probably needed (such as the one shipped by Arch Linux or
Flathub)
