Git commit a0c8d4b24d816331f4865f167d09880620a61a19 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 17/07/2022 at 02:55.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

WindowHeap: expand size of highlight

Currently, the highlight effect is not very visible because it only
barely peeks out of the window thumbnail. We can make it bigger by
making it peek out a little bit more, and also by including the window
title and icon (when visible) within it.

[plasmashell] [Bug 456391] broken/nonexistent keyboard layout

> Does the tray icon show up if you restart the computer?

I see does on one older Neon PC with a Dell USB 104-key keyboard and IBM PS/2
model M 101-key, which the latter is on main family PC (no layout detected) and
mine, which, mine, however, is plugged into a Belkin KVM switch detected
(lsusb) as 'Belkin Components F5U120-PC Dual PS/2 Ports / F5U118-UNV ADB
Adapter' except temporarily plugged-in with KVM switch's USB connector (for
keyboard & mouse.)

I thought hardware detection is a matter of the Linux kernel but seems KDE
usually (in our cases) isn't getting full information from it or started
ignoring pre-GUI OS standard keyboards.

At present, I can confirm it on manjaro and kde neon installed on seperate
hardware. I have also had this issue in ubuntu but that was many years before.

Yes, unencrypted hotspot works. Also encrypted hotspots created through
utilities like linux-wifi-hotspot also work

There should be no side effects since that option was removed in recent ffmpeg.

[plasma-pk-updates] [Bug 456810] New: The select-all-packages tick is automatically set when ticking only one package

2022-07-16 Thread flo37
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456810

Bug ID: 456810
Summary: The select-all-packages tick is automatically set when
ticking only one package
   Product: plasma-pk-updates
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: jgrul...@redhat.com
  Reporter: einkaufs.adre...@gmx.de
  Target Milestone: ---

In my KDE system the app is called:
"Software Updates 0.3.2 - Plasma PackageKit Updater"
I hope, here is the right place for reporting the bug. Please direct me to the
right place if not.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Untick the "Select all Packages" tick
2. Try to tick only one of the 1000 updates which are currently available

OBSERVED RESULT
the "Select all Packages" tick is automatically selected again (in grey)
in my case the updates therefore don't work due to the current issue with tlp
1.5 that is in the list of the 1000 updates (I want to do all other updates
but not this one).

EXPECTED RESULT
Only the one package that was manually ticked should be updated (I tried with
many, 7zip amongst them, which I am pretty sure should not be connected to tlp
1.5).

[peruse] [Bug 450844] "Group by series" unflattens filesystem hierarchy, making it difficult to find anything

2022-07-16 Thread Remko van Wagensveld

Remko van Wagensveld changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||remgg...@gmail.com

--- Comment #3 from Remko van Wagensveld ---
This behavior of series is intended as far as I see. This is for structures
where you have multiple comics of the same series in one folder. E.g.:

$ tree All-New*
All-New\ Hawkeye\ (2015)
|-- All-New_Hawkeye_2015_1.cbz
`-- All-New_Hawkeye_2015_6.cbz
All-New\ Ultimates\ (2014)
|-- All-New_Ultimates_2014_1.cbz
`-- All-New,_All-Different_Avengers_2015_9.cbz

This helps if the Comic Book Archives do not have any metadata embedded
describing the comic.
What you are suggesting would be a folder browser in peruse. In general I would
like a folder browser, but that is a new feature, as the "Group by series"
works as intended.

The code for adding the folder as a series is here:
https://invent.kde.org/graphics/peruse/-/blob/master/src/qtquick/BookListModel.cpp#L244

However, what I think is a problem with this feature is that the folder name
gets added as series even if the comic book has the appropriate series
information.

[krita] [Bug 456807] New: Problems with the gradient fill for vectors in the Tool Options docker.

2022-07-16 Thread YetAnotherKritaUser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456807

Bug ID: 456807
Summary: Problems with the gradient fill for vectors in the
Tool Options docker.
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.0.6
  Platform: Android
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tools/Vector
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ses...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug
symbols.
See
https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Within the gradient fill for vectors Tool Docker: select a color to make a
gradient
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
The selected area is deselected after I chose the 1st color. It does the same
thing when I chose the 2nd color. I can’t get the right color from the source
photo.

EXPECTED RESULT
What I expect: ability to select color for gradients and solids from the
reference image, and/or the raster layer.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Android: 12
Windows: 10
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version:
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version: 5.12.12

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I reported the bug as suggested by @AhabGreybeard in this thread:
https://krita-artists.org/t/trouble-with-gradient-for-vector-on-android/43394

>From AhabGreybeard who also tested and found the following:
Testing on Windows 10 with 5.0.6 and 5.1.0-beta2:
The 5.1.0-beta2 no longer has the refusal to edit the end stop problem but it
seems to have more problems.
At one point with 5.0.6, I totally lost the FG-> BG gradient and had two GPS
Eye (Blue) gradients.
Then the gradient collection went back to normal after I closed 5.0.6 and
started 5.1.0-beta2 and then had more bugs.

What is happening: Color selection for gradient is not working when on Vector
layer, cannot select colors from reference image. Also, colors selected from
raster layer aren’t carried over to Vector layer. Color seems to be able to be
chosen from the installed palettes Only.
Suggestion: The Gradient tool should use the gradient that’s been set up
already.
On a side note: when moving the gradient handles, (within the Vector shape) the
gradient area seems to blink (on Android).
Problem is present on both Android and Windows 10

[kwin] [Bug 456686] kwin_wayland_drm: an error occurred while swapping buffers "EGL_BAD_ALLOC" when Kwin tries to update the cursor image

2022-07-16 Thread postix

Regarding the SUMMARY of the OT: The EGL error is not always reported when
moving the cursor. So at this state, it's not clear to me by what the issue is
initially triggered.

(In reply to Zamundaaa from comment #1)
> Are there any other errors or warnings from kwin in the log?

Yes there are. Here's the journalctl output regarding kwin for the last two
days.
There are often but not always the following log lines

`kwin_wayland[2823]: QMetaProperty::read: Unable to handle unregistered
datatype 'KWin::SessionState' for property
'KWin::EffectsHandlerImpl::sessionState'`

or

`kwin_screencast: Dropping a screencast cursor update because the compositor is
slow`

 followed by

`kwin_wayland_drm: an error occurred while swapping buffers "EGL_BAD_ALLOC"`

At least that is what was most obvious to me at a first glance. Thanks for
looking into it.

> KWIN_DRM_NO_DIRECT_SCANOUT=1

So put one in /etc/environment, reboot, see if it works, remove it again and

So I looked through Mesa and the only situation I can see where EGL_BAD_ALLOC
can be caused is when the surface never got rendered to. In KWin all code paths
do render to the cursor surface though...
Are there any other errors or warnings from kwin in the log?

[plasmashell] [Bug 456803] New: Plasma crashes after screen inactivity

2022-07-16 Thread Alfonso Murolo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456803

Bug ID: 456803
Summary: Plasma crashes after screen inactivity
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.25.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: generic-crash
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: almur@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Turning screens on after the screens turned themselves off for inactivity makes
plasmashell crash.

 Once they are off

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Using Wayland with two Displayport screens, let KDE be without interacting
until the two screens turn themselves off for inactivity.
2. Once they are off, come back to the computer and move the mouse to wake the
screens up
3. Observe at least plasma crashing, if not failing to wake screens up at all
(in which case, a hard reset is required)
4. If the screens were to come back up correctly, logging in with the password
shows the unlock button and it does not continue the login procedure, hanging
there, since plasma crashed behind the scenes.

OBSERVED RESULT
Plasma crashes and sometimes fails to wake up screens.
journalctl shows multiple instances of:
plasmashell[1473]: qt.qpa.wayland: Wayland does not support
QWindow::requestActivate()

and multiple instances of:
plasmashell[1473]: requesting unexisting screen 3

EXPECTED RESULT
The screens should wake up normally and plasma should not crash.

kmail (5.20.2 (22.04.2)) using Qt 5.15.4

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Exiting and restarting KMail.

- Custom settings of the application:

I use both an Exchange server (Office 365 business) and a pair of IMAP servers.
The Exchange connection dies on a regular basis, so I close KMail and it
crashes when I try to immediately reopen it.

Using MySQL for the backend.

Cross referencing:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394750#c15

Baloo has had an exclusion added for *.swp files (as created by vim, see Bug
433095), this exclusion doesn't work for *.kate-swp. The 'repeated reindexing'
impact on system performance is likely similar.

The impact *may* differ as a mimetype lookup of the kate-swp file comes up
with:
$ kmimetypefinder .testfile.txt.kate-swp
application/x-font-tex-tfm
Parallel issue perhaps...

[kwin] [Bug 456800] New: Plasma Mobile: Wallpaper reverts to default occasionally

2022-07-16 Thread Wilbur Jaywright
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456800

Bug ID: 456800
Summary: Plasma Mobile: Wallpaper reverts to default
occasionally
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: zargulthewiz...@outlook.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When using KDE Neon+Plasma on my desktop, and Manjaro with Plasma Mobile on my
PinePhone, the desktop background has repeatedly reset to the default wallpaper
upon unlock/login. I initially thought this had to do with the wallpaper being
stored on an external hard drive that wasn’t always mounted on my PC, but I’ve
since moved it to my home folder, and the problem persisted. Once it occurred
on my pinephone, I realized this was probably specific to Plasma. Thankfully,
it seems to be happening far less often on my desktop now, but I have no idea
why.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set a custom wallpaper on Plasma Mobile (a photo, for example)
2. Continue normal use of locking and unlocking regularly, shutting down and
rebooting occasionally.
3. If that doesn’t trigger it, try a couple forced shutdowns.

OBSERVED RESULT
Eventually, the wallpaper would reset to the default (currently “Safe
Landing”).
I think this may have something to do with a graphical reset or plasma
restarting, because one time I unexpectedly witnessed the KDE booting screen
while unlocking the phone when it was already on, and the wallpaper reset.

EXPECTED RESULT
The wallpaper stays the same unless I change it or delete the file in cache
somewhere.

As stated above, it seems to no longer be occurring on my desktop. The phone
software is up-to-date.

SUMMARY

On 7zip and other applications there is a feature that can be very useful when
compressing files and folders: creating one compressed file per file or folder.
It's important when you want to compress many files or folders independently.

Till the date, for example, a user is forced to click on each file from Dolphin
and pulse on "compress to".

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Ark and add some files, or select some files or folders on Dolphin
2. Click on "Compress to"
3. There is no option to compress the files or folders into individual files

OBSERVED RESULT

All files or folders are compressed into one file.

EXPECTED RESULT

The user can choose if compressing files or folders into one file or
independent files.

What distribution does this happen on for you? I have a feeling this bug
depends heavily on non-KDE components. Also to be clear, unencrypted hotspot
works, right?

I don't have this widget but still get this issue from time to time (with X11,
didn't try in Wayland).

Meanwhile, I did some reconfiguration and remove a widget called "Launchpad
Plasma". I'm unsure if this is the cause but since then I can use "Overview"
normally without any issue.

I don't know if this (or maybe other widgets) can interfere with "Overview",
but actually it works

[kmymoney] [Bug 456792] Adding support for new banking format CAMT.053

2022-07-16 Thread Thomas Baumgart

Thomas Baumgart changed:

Thanks for the information. CAMT.053 itself is not that new. I found traces
dating back into 2018
(https://www.sepaforcorporates.com/swift-for-corporates/a-practical-guide-to-the-bank-statement-camt-053-format/).
Since it is a SEPA thing, it is used throughout Europe.

KMyMoney relies on the software provided by the (also open source) AqBanking
project for this kind of interface. Scanning AqBanking, I found traces of
camt.053.001.04 in its sources. So it could well be, that KMyMoney already
supports that format through AqBanking. To gain more information, I added the
AqBanking maintainer to this request.
