This can often mean waiting for waveforms to generate twice when starting a new project (once before saving for the first time, and once after.) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Kdenlive 2. Drag a video into the Project Bin 3. Drag the video to the Timeline 4. Wait for some waveforms to appear 5. Save the new project to a non-default directory (e.g. if the project has its own directory where the footage is stored, save it there) OBSERVED RESULT Kdenlive notifies the user: "The location of the project file changed. You selected to use the location of the project file to save temporary files. This will move all temporary files from /old/directory to /new/directory, the project file will then be reloaded" After this, all audio waveforms are gone and the loading bar under the clip in the Project Bin restarts from zero to generate them again. EXPECTED RESULT The already-generated waveform thumbnails should be moved (as the dialog indicates) and generating should not start over from zero. Simply exitng the browsel dialog for those categories is not enough. You must exit the entire Settings app in order for it to start working again. This has been happening for mostly the entire year I've been using Manjaro Linux. I've went through several Plasma updates and this has not been adressed. I can assure you I have no networking issues, as I maintained connectivity on other devices. EXPECTED RESULT In general, these applications ought to be resiliant to potential network disruptions (the network is unreliable!). Network errors should not result in needing to restart the application to be able to use it in the expected manner. When that happens plasmashell grabs a huge amount of memory, 3 gig, and never releases it. In my original report I observed the trouble when I opened the hamburger menu in kdeconnect. I have since seen it happen when opening in other widgets but again not consistently. Now I am pretty sure that some notifications trigger it as well. When I watch "top" for a while I can see the spikes when notifications arrive. Most of the added memory is only held for a short time but it doesn' quite get down to its previous level. With a fresh login and with my desktop set up to my taste I observed that plasmashell was holding on to 365512 according to top. After three days almost exactly, plasmashell was using 516484. I got started on this quest because my laptop was dying due to memory exhaustion. I then decided to compare it with my main computer. This also happens in 5.1.5. SUMMARY If a gradient overlay layer style is applied to a layer using the 0. Foreground to Background gradient, later changing the current foreground or background color and then reopening the layer styles editor on the same layer will automatically update the applied gradient to whatever the current foreground and background colors are set to. This is undesired behaviour as making any change to the layer style later (after having worked on other parts of the image and having changed the selected colors since) will force you to exit the layer style editor, set the current colors properly, open the style editor, and then re-edit the applied gradient overlay once again before making additional changes (like adding another layer style or just modifying the current one). Now, it seems that when the file is saved and Krita is closed and then reopened, one notices that a static copy of the 0. Foreground to Background gradient has been created and applied, thereby avoiding this problem, which is great! However, I feel like this same behavior should be performed when the file is still in memory and being worked on (ideally when the gradient is first selected or at least when the layer style editor is closed) as right now if you keep working on the file without closing and reopening it first, the above undesired behavior is encountered. The question becomes why not create another gradient selection and edit the stops manually? But having a gradient option that automatically picks the current colors is powerful workflow-wise (and is kind of necessary for some functionality I'm building), it's just that it shouldn't change arbitrarily while one is performing other reasonable actions elsewhere. The desired behaviour does exist already, but only when the file is saved, closed, and then reopened. On a different note, several workflow-breaking bugs were fixed in layer styles recently (align with layer, not remembering other settings, etc.) so thanks to those who worked to fix these issues! STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Draw something and apply gradient overlay layer style to layer using the 0. Foreground to Background gradient. Make sure it's visible on the canvas. Close the layer style editor. Make sure nothing is actually selected on the canvas. 2. Change the current foreground and background colors to something drastic and visible. 3. Reopen the layer styles editor on the same layer. OBSERVED RESULT The gradient overlay on the image is automatically updated with the newly selected fore/back colors. You don't actually have to be on the gradient overlay page in the layer style editor for that to happen. EXPECTED RESULT The desired behavior of automatically creating a static copy of the gradient and applying that one until the user chooses otherwise only happens when the file is saved, closed, and reopened, but should be applied to the live working document as well (if possible), ideally right away when the 0.Foreground to Background gradient is selected, or at least when the layer style editor is closed. However, the SSL error I talked about is still triggered, this time inside Konqueror. The WebEngine PDF viewer worked fine. Could you reproduce this error? You didn't mention so I guess not. Instead a pop-up asks to open the PDF externally in Okular, but this represents a problem sometimes as in this case as the following error appears (translated from a different language): It was not possible to open https://www.aei.gob.es/sites/default/files/page/field_file/2023-03/Calendario-AEI-22-03-B.pdf. Reason: It was not possible to connet with www.aei.gob.es: SSL negotiation has failed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Visit https://www.aei.gob.es/sites/default/files/page/field_file/2023-03/Calendario-AEI-22-03-B.pdf OBSERVED RESULT 1. Pop-up emerges (not possible to view the file internally with Okular part) 2.
