[kwin] [Bug 471364] New: Sharing window with OBS causes periodic desktop stuttering
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471364 Bug ID: 471364 Summary: Sharing window with OBS causes periodic desktop stuttering Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.27.3 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dead...@dmu.gg Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 159849 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=159849&action=edit UFO Screen Test With Stutter SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** When sharing a window with OBS a brief stutter occurs every second, indefinitely. This stutter affects my entire desktop, including cursor movement. This issue does not occur when using a Screen Capture source. It's worth noting that I have installed OBS as a Flatpak and so it would be using the appropriate screen sharing portals to view windows. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. In OBS create a Window Capture source 2. Select a window to share from the Screen Sharing Portal and share it 3. Observe a periodic lag spike occurring every second OBSERVED RESULT Using a Window Capture source, when a portal is shared with OBS I begin to experience stuttering every second. If I open OBS and no portal is being actively shared I do not experience any stuttering. Sometimes it doesn't happen though, but I have not been able to reliably reproduce this good behaviour. EXPECTED RESULT There should be no stuttering when sharing a window. [krusader] [Bug 471363] New: Mkdir FN bar button does not do tilde expansion
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471363 Bug ID: 471363 Summary: Mkdir FN bar button does not do tilde expansion Classification: Applications Product: krusader Version: 2.8.0 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: krusader-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: m...@hhecht.e4ward.com CC: krusader-bugs-n...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- When creating a directory with the F7 Mkdir button, tildes are treated as literal strings, rather than being expanded to a user's home directory. ~/additional/paths and ~user/additional/paths should work as expected: i.e., they should be expanded to the correct home directory. This expansion works for copy and move, which makes mkdir even more surprising. It is possible that this is really a KIO bug. From briefly looking at the krusader source, it looks like it goes: ListPanelFunc::mkdir files->mkDir whence maybe: DefaultFileSystem::mkDir KIO::mkpath I am not familiar with either the krusader or kio source, however, so this may not be correct. All I'm certain of is that it doesn't work properly as an end user. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open krusader, navigate to a writable directory other than $HOME. 2. Hit F7 or press the Mkdir button on the FN bar 3. Enter, e.g., ~/foo OBSERVED RESULT The directory ~ is created in the current directory, with foo beneath it. EXPECTED RESULT The directory foo should be created in the user's home directory. [kdenlive] [Bug 471362] New: "What's This" popup interferes with shortcuts that use "Shift"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471362 Bug ID: 471362 Summary: "What's This" popup interferes with shortcuts that use "Shift" Classification: Applications Product: kdenlive Version: 23.04.1 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: User Interface Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org Reporter: ruro.rep...@ya.ru Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 159848 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=159848&action=edit The tooltip and pop-up described in the bug report. SUMMARY Some actions trigger a small floating box with explainer text to appear. For example, zooming the timeline results in a small rectangular box appearing in the lower right corner of the window. This popup says something along the lines of ``` Zoom Level: 10/21 Press **Shift** for more. ``` This tooltip is mostly harmless by itself, however if you press `Shift` while the tooltip is present, it replaced with a solid black pop-up with a "What's This?" type of explanation about the element. For example, ``` Slider to adjust the zoom level. ``` This is problematic, because this "What's This?" pop-up steals the focus from the main window and eats the "Shift" keypress. As a result, doing some action quickly followed by a hotkey that starts with "Shift" results in this pop up appearing and the hotkey action not triggering. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Create enough tracks or resize the window so that the timeline can be scrolled vertically 2. Focus the Kdenlive window (click on the timeline) 3. Hover over the timeline, press Ctrl and mouse scroll to zoom into the timeline (the first tooltip shoul appear) 4. Release Ctrl and instead press Shift and mouse scroll (attempting to vertically scroll through the timeline tracks) OBSERVED RESULT A black box steals focus from the kdenlive window and no vertical scrolling occurs. EXPECTED RESULT The timeline is scrolled vertically as expected. [kwin] [Bug 471361] New: Mouse Mark effect remove previous mark works only after second stroke
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471361 Bug ID: 471361 Summary: Mouse Mark effect remove previous mark works only after second stroke Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: effects-various Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: ash...@linuxcomp.ru Target Milestone: --- When removing previous mark, the first stroke does not remove mark. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Draw some mark (shift + meta + move mouse), then release all buttons. 2. Try to remove previous mark (press and hold shift + meta, then press and release F12). Observed: Mark not deleted. Expected: Mark should be deleted. 3. While still holding shift + meta, try to remove mark again (press and release F12). Observed: Mark is deleted. Well, actually, first F12 stroke _does_ remove mark. You can see it, if you did not yet finished marking, and press F12, it will delete current mark. However, if you are not currently drawing, and just want to delete previous mark, hitting shift + meta before F12 already creates a mark (it is yet zero length). And from user perspective of view, it feels like first stroke did not work. My guess is that here https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/blob/master/src/plugins/mousemark/mousemark.cpp#L193 the check `!drawing.isEmpty()` maybe should be something like `len(drawing) == 1`. [kwin] [Bug 471360] New: Notification Tooltip Text Scaling Issue
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471360 Bug ID: 471360 Summary: Notification Tooltip Text Scaling Issue Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.27.6 Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: compositing Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: abys...@yahoo.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 159845 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=159845&action=edit Example SUMMARY When moving mouse between notification icons the tooltip will warp and scale smaller text when moving between tooltips with more text to those with less text. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Move mouse over notification icons in quick succession OBSERVED RESULT Text scaling seems to stretch the text to fill the notification area when there is less text to display when moving from a larger tooltip. EXPECTED RESULT Text not to scale to a larger size, possibly not show the text until the animation for resizing the tooltip is finished or possibly decrease the time it takes to resize the tooltip window display area between separate item mouse overs. If I attach a backup disk and then unmount it via Dolphin (eject from the sidebar but not safely disconnect), and then unplug the disk, the applet seems to (never?) recover again and keeps showing the combined values. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Attach an external USB drive. 2. Wait for the applet to catch up and show the new combined values. 3. Eject it from the eject icon next to it in Dolphin. 4. [frameworks-kirigami] [Bug 468211] Closed and interactive context drawer adds a column of dead space on the right side of the window that eats clicks
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468211 --- Comment #6 from Nate Graham --- Git commit 6df31bbb78145633a187c56aa25389fee7e45a10 by Nate Graham. Committed on 22/06/2023 at 21:00. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'. Make context drawer non-interactive It's interactive by default, which generates a column of dead pixels on the right side, per https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468211. [krita] [Bug 462528] Sudden Crashing while Animating After Applying Transformation Mask
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462528 YRH changed: What|Removed |Added CC||yavn.w...@gmail.com Ever confirmed|0 |1 Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED --- Comment #15 from YRH --- I think I was able to reproduce this, but it's probably not a bug. As far as I understand it, it's very easy to shoot yourself in the foot with the transform mask. The bad behavior I got was huge memory consumption and unresponsiveness due to transformation calculation. I'll attach a video below. Repro: 1. Create a new document (big canvas and depth will likely make it worse). 2. Use the animation workspace 3. Scribble something on the canvas 4. Add a transform mask to the animated paint layer 5. Go to animation curves tab 6. Insert a control point, select Scale X or Y 7. Drag the point to a high value (e.g. Scale to 500%) 8. Open animation timeline and click on the paint layer 9. Start drawing again 10. Observe the memory usage go up 11. Keep drawing and using the UI, eventually the app will become unresponsive when you try to switch the tabs. The video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDrxC8snIXo (may be still processing, it should be 4K eventually) Not sure about the status, I'll move it to confirmed, but please adjust as necessary. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I installed 0.11.1 the latest one from snap and it still had the same issue for me i kept the old one on still but i confirmed when trying to open and check the version i was using the right one to make sure But i dont install flatpaks or even snaps usually since i despise them i can think of a million issues that they have one being that the interface is incorrect for this app at least the normal one runs fine for me since the snap one i installed was the wrong colour and style and also had missing or hard to read text, so i avoid them when possible If i can get a non flatpak or snap version it would be appreciated through it might do the same thing with the file opening either way unless the issue is now because it was the snap version of it Im also opening it from a different drive which might also affect it.
