I can't seem to reproduce 'enter' not working when nothing is set, and while
there *is* something odd going on with the tab-order in resize-canvas, I cannot
get into a state where the ok button and the link-width-and-height buttons are
both focused.

Is this with the appimage, or some other version?

I can confirm, it also affects the seperate image dialog, and it seems to be
caused by the 'subtractive blending for CMYK', when setting that to 'additive',
it starts to work as expected. Dmitry's already assigned himself, it seems.

I can reproduce, but unfortunately this isn't easy to fix:

Problem 1 is that apparantly the HSX sliders in the specific color selector are
clipped to sRGB (they use QColor only), problem 2 is that the values are not
linearized before being input into the HSY function, which is the primary cause
of the difference between it and the Wide Gamut color selector.

The "Apps" category is the main one. "File associations" is a subcategory of

Rename it to "apps" instead of file associations, is what I would propose.

But maybe the file associations got so many destinctive bugs, that this would
have disadvantages.

It doesn't seem to be related to where the mouse pointer was originally. In

when the tablet brush strokes start, and the straight lines appear and they
seem to point to a completely unrelated location to where the mouse cursor was.

Git commit 74e6a852d2f55ad9c53f34972fe3ba0c1ad78c42 by ivan tkachenko.
Committed on 18/10/2023 at 12:13.
Pushed by ratijas into branch 'master'.

AbstractApplication*: Fix reparenting of drawers, Clean up bindings

Querying T.Overlay.overlay attached property on a Binding object was
clearly wrong. It just resulted in null at all times, so basically
those Bindings never took effect.

Since `when:` condition does not make much sense (first, those
properties could never be undefined; second, why reparenting only when
visible?), let's demote them into a property change handlers with null
guards.

For other bindings, pointless `when` check was removed as well as
deprecated (and yet again pointless) restoreMode.

The bugzilla lacks the "applications" main category, "file associations" is a
subcategory of it.

So in the main "standard apps" grouped selections (keyword UX!) there are some
categories missing.

This should be pretty easy, I may try to do it myself.

Currently there are these categories lacking:

- standard image viewer (including raw images?)
- video player
- music player
- text editor
- .exe launcher ?

if there was something like a global destinction between "open" and "edit" this
would also be awesome

- image editor
- video editor
- text editor vs. viewer (this may fit better in the exact file

[valgrind] [Bug 456200] Valgrind should not require neon (simd) on armhf

2023-10-18 Thread Mark Wielaard
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456200

Mark Wielaard changed:

 CC||m...@klomp.org

The original reason for using -mcpu=cortex-a8 was:

commit 68f57d0181acae56adf05e0987990c2b41081f48
Author: Julian Seward
Date: Tue May 31 07:17:54 2011 +

On arm-linux, give gcc "-mcpu=cortex-a8" so as to persuade it to
accept the armv6t2 (I think) insns (movt, movw) in
dispatch-arm-linux.S. Some older gccs apparently think they are
compiling for armv6 by default and reject them (gcc 4.4.1 on Ubuntu
9.10, for one.)

So I think generic-armv7-a would be fine too.

Have to find an 32bit arm machine to double check. But given that Debian
apparently already made this change it is probably correct.

Thanks for the information, as you can see from my attached full list above I
do have the file in

/usr/share/color/icc/krita/ITUR_2100_PQ_FULL.ICC

however strace shows the path is missing from kritas search path locations as
it does search in e.g. /usr/share/krita/color/icc but not
/usr/share/color/icc/krita. As "../share" does not work for our cross setup as
we have arch-independent stuff in /usr/share, but arch-depedendent stuff
installed to prefix /usr/.

As I can see e.g. /usr/share/krita//color/icc in addition to
../share/krita//color/icc/ I hope the missing /usr/share/color/icc search path
can be added as another alternative for ../share//color/icc as well.

As a workaround:

export LD_PRELOAD=/lib64/libpthread.so.0

(or whatever is appropriate for your platform).

The problem is that the tools do not link with libpthread but they assume that
the client exe does.

I'm not yet sure why the dlopen isn't making pthread_mutexattr_gettype
available.

[kdevelop] [Bug 475787] New: Session state should be saved more often

2023-10-18 Thread Gaël de Chalendar
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475787

Bug ID: 475787
Summary: Session state should be saved more often
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.12.230802
  Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Session support
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: kle...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I reuse the text from bug #191502 which was closed in 2009, but the same
problem still occurs.

KDevelop crashes frequently, unfortunaley.

This is only really annoying because the session state is only saved on clean
shutdowns, not on crashes.
This means I lose the state of opened files and open projects, and I think of
project configurations as well.
Please save those settings more often, preferably right after they changed, so
that the session can be cleanly restored after a crash.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use kdevelop, open a project in a session, continue to use it some time
2. Make it or the computer crash
3. Restore the session

OBSERVED RESULT
The newly opened project has not been saved in the session before the crash.

EXPECTED RESULT
The session should be saved after successfully loading the project.

[neon] [Bug 475786] New: plasma-browser-integration does not work in firefox due to apparmor

2023-10-18 Thread Malte S. Stretz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475786

Bug ID: 475786
Summary: plasma-browser-integration does not work in firefox
due to apparmor
Classification: KDE Neon
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Packages User Edition
  Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@apache.org
CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The root issue was already filed as bug 397399 where the result was "This is an
issue with the upstream apparmor profile and currently we can't fix it without
changes in there." While the application itself can't fix it Neon is in a
different position and it should be able to drop in an override which allows
the execution of /usr/bin/plasma-browser-integration-host

I think (but haven tested it yet) that this should be possible by dropping a
file into /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions/kde.d/

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start firefox
2. Install /usr/bin/plasma-browser-integration-host
3. Go the the addons' preferences and notice the "Failed to connect to native
host" error message
4. Verify that the package plasma-browser-integration is installed
5. Go to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox
6. Click on "Inspect" for the Plasma Integration plugin
7. Look at console tab, notice the error message "Not auto-restarting host as
we haven't received any message from it before. Check that it's
working/installed correctly"
8. Google wildly and find pointers to apparmor
9. Finally look at something like `journalctl --since '1 hour ago' | grep
plasma-browser-integration-host` and notice lines like "Okt 18 09:58:52
localhost audit[20833]: AVC apparmor="DENIED" operation="exec" class="file"
profile="firefox" name="/usr/bin/plasma-browser-integration-host" pid=20833
comm=444F4D20576F726B6572 requested_mask="x" denied_mask="x" fsuid=1000 ouid=0"

OBSERVED RESULT
Plasma Browser Integrations do not work out of the box

EXPECTED RESULT
They should work

SUMMARY

In a fresh Kubuntu 23.04 install, I have set the compose key to be on CapsLock.
After every login, I have to open the Keyboard Advanced properties to set it
again. Actually the settings display the correct state, but they aren't in
effect. What Is needed to make them effective again is to reapply them. Since
the "Apply" button is deactivated, one must tick any of the boxes in the
advanced section of the keyboard properties so that the Apply button is
enabled. Then this setting can be applied. Continuing I then untick that option
again and Apply again to return to the state I actually wanted.

[filelight] [Bug 475781] New: Prompt the encountered permission problems after scanning with non-root user

2023-10-18 Thread Xinhui Yang
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475781

Bug ID: 475781
Summary: Prompt the encountered permission problems after
scanning with non-root user
Classification: Applications
   Product: filelight
   Version: 22.08.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Other

  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 162401
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=162401=edit
filelight showing access deined messages in the terminal during a root
filesystem scan with normal user

SUMMARY

When running as the normal user, if we are scanning the entire root directory,
any permission problems are ignored and never shown to the user after
collecting usage information. The error message is only visible in the stdout
if running from a terminal.

Besides that, the result might be inaccurate if those directories contain any
files, which is always less than the actual usage.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make a directory as root, with permission 0700 (makes it unreadable to other
users)
2. Put some large files in it (in order to make some difference between scans
with and without root)
2. Start filelight as the normal user
3. Start scan

OBSERVED RESULT

No error window is shown, and the scan is performed as the directories and
files that have insufficient permissions do not exist, thus generating an
inaccurate result.
If run in a terminal, permission errors are printed to stdout, as shown in the
attachment.

EXPECTED RESULT

There are two possible ways to improve this behavior:
1. Filelight shows a warning window, which contains the directories it can not
read, and tells the user that the result might be inaccurate.
2. Filelight prompts the user to run filelight as the superuser if such file or
directory is encountered.

Here are some examples of possible directories unreadable or unexecutable to
normal users, and may have significant disk space usage:
- Some directories in /var/log

[valgrind] [Bug 475780] New: helgrind and drd: undefined symbol for shared library which calls pthread_mutex_init with attribute

2023-10-18 Thread Piotr Trojanek
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475780

Bug ID: 475780
Summary: helgrind and drd: undefined symbol for shared library
which calls pthread_mutex_init with attribute
Classification: Developer tools
   Product: valgrind
   Version: 3.21.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: helgrind
  Assignee: jsew...@acm.org
  Reporter: piotr.troja...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 162400
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=162400=edit
Script and code to reproduce the problem

SUMMARY

When the application loads a shared library that calls pthread_mutex_init with
its second parameter "attr" being other than NULL, then helgrind and drd die
with message:

undefined symbol: pthread_mutexattr_gettype

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. extract the attached archive and execute ./run.sh
2. this will build the shared library and a program that loads it
3. then it will run the valgrind tools that die

OBSERVED RESULT

./load: symbol lookup error: vgpreload_drd-amd64-linux.so: undefined symbol:
./load: symbol lookup error: vgpreload_helgrind-amd64-linux.so: undefined
symbol: pthread_mutexattr_gettyp

EXPECTED RESULT

The script should only print debug output about activating the shared library
code.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye), x86_64
Valgrind Version: 3.21.0 (compiled from source)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I guess the problem is that the interceptors in helgrind/hg_intercepts.c and
drd/drd_pthread_intercepts.c call pthread_mutexattr_gettype, which fails to be
dynamically loaded by the vgpreload_helgrind-amd64-linux.so and
vgpreload_drd-amd64-linux.so libraries.

I would reference also the bug #454722 - Dolphin becomes frozen if nfs shares
declared in fstab are not available - previously the mount point was just
showing empty. Currently reproduced with Dolphin 23.08.2.
