https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477318 Noah Davis changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|NEEDSINFO Resolution|--- |WAITINGFORINFO --- Comment #1 from Noah Davis --- I am on the unreleased 24.02 version, but I cannot reproduce this. What is your system info and what video format are you using? I need to know things like your GPU and CPU in case GPU encoding is affecting the colors. I am using an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H CPU with integrated AMD Radeon graphics (Renoir), Mesa graphics drivers 23.2.1 and Linux kernel 6.6.1. The video formats I tried are WebM (VP9, CPU encoding) and MP4 (H.264, GPU encoding). Since you're on Spectacle 23.08.2, you should have WebM (VP8) and MP4 (H.264) as your options. Whether or not they encode with the GPU or CPU depends on what your GPU supports. You can find out by running `vainfo | grep Enc` if you have libva-utils installed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 455444] Custom Shortcuts are gone in 5.25 on Wayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455444 --- Comment #45 from Nate Graham --- There's nothing to fix; the old unmaintained "Custom Shortcuts" page in System Settings has been removed for Plasma 6, and was hidden in the Wayland session for Plasma 5 starting in 5.25. So this isn't a bug but rather an intentional decision. In its place is the newer actively maintained "Shortcuts" page in System Settings. If you have further questions, including questions about how to migrate to the new system, I'd recommend asking them on https://discuss.kde.org/c/help/6, as I mentioned earlier. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 470391] Cannot uninstall or update Nightly build
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470391 --- Comment #22 from Judah Richardson --- (In reply to caulier.gilles from comment #21) > Judah, > > Please try the new Windows installer 8.2.0 pre-release build under Windows > with VCPKG toolchain and MSVC. This one is not cross compiled : > > https://files.kde.org/digikam/ > > Gilles Caulier Well, some progress in this one: I actually did get past the UAC prompt to the installer. However, it suffers from the orphan process bug too, and this time I can't find any way to get around it. After killing all the rogue digiKam processes as described previously (the installer's kill option doesn't work, just as before), I get an error message saying: "You have C:\Program Files\digiKam\uninstall.exe running in C:\Program Files\digiKam. Select "Yes" to kill the process(es), "No" to retry or "Cancel" to quit." Clicking "Yes" dumps the installer back to digiKam 8.2.0 initial setup dialog, where clicking "Yes" presents the error message above all over again. Killing the rogue uninstall.exe process above doesn't fix or change any of the above. As before, I had to use Process Explorer to kill the rogue processes. I'm still confused as to how/why digiKam leaves orphan processes after exit 🤷♂️ So, in summary: different variation of the same problem, with the same result. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[KBibTeX] [Bug 426856] File encoding is not always stored
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426856 Thomas Fischer changed: What|Removed |Added Latest Commit|https://invent.kde.org/offi |4c2d0c3acdcfea0ab263a5ba688 |ce/kbibtex/commit/1e649222e |0ed22ebe7a6d8 |d54060eb561fcc5b70568ba7f60 | |98fb| Version Fixed In|0.10|0.10.1 --- Comment #9 from Thomas Fischer --- Comment #7 has the important point here: probably every of your BibTeX files where you reported that KBibTeX switched from LaTeX encoding to UTF-8 was due to KBibTeX not knowing how to map an Unicode character to a LaTeX equivalent. Thus is was falling back to UTF-8 encoding in order to preserve the data, i.e. it is a feature, not a bug ;-) This is for two reasons: First, the mapping is manually crafted and simply does not cover the thousands of characters and symbols that are in use. Second, for some symbols, no clear mapping is possible. One particular example is the Greek letter mu. Unicode knows U+00B5 (micro sign), U+03BC (Greek small letter mu), U+1D6CD (Mathematical bold small mu), and possibly others. On the LaTeX side you have \mu (in math mode), \textmu, \upmu, \muup, \textmugreek, and possibly others. Anyhow, I added U+00A0, U+2010, and U+202F to the manual mapping, as those were mentioned earlier and seem most pressing. U+2010 and U+202F are "unidirectional", i.e. they will be mapped to a simple ASCII dash/minus/hyphen and '\,', respectively, and when again encoded to UTF-8 will stay ASCII minus or become U+2009, respectively. If you want to add more manual mappings or update existing ones, please let me know, e.g. by commenting in this bug report and providing both Unicode number and corresponding LaTeX command. The manual mapping is coded in src/io/encoderlatex.cpp, in case you want to look at the technical details. (In reply to nobodyinperson from comment #7) > Thanks for bringing this up again. It's currently also a big pain point for > me. It seems that KBibTeX v0.10.0 doesn't how to encode some Unicode > characters (non-breaking spaces, weird dashes, etc.) to LaTeX. [kwin] [Bug 477262] Incorrect window stacking order of transient windows

Committed on 21/11/2023 at 20:26. Pushed by vladz into branch 'master'. Preserve relative order of transient siblings If a constraint indicates that window A must be below window B but it's not the case at the moment, the workspace will move window A right after window B. This can invert the relative order of transient siblings, for example let's say that there are three constraints - A <- B (window A must be below window B) - A <- C - A <- D and the unconstrained stacking order looks as follows: [B, C, D, A]. The final constrained stacking order is expected to look as [A, B, C, D], but currently it's [A, D, C, B] instead: - starting stacking order: [B, C, D, A] - apply A <- B constraint: [C, D, A, B] - apply A <- C constraint: [D, A, C, B] - apply A <- D constraint: [A, D, C, B] In order to fix this issue, this patch makes the workspace traverse the constraint graph in the reverse order. In addition to that, it ensures that the relative order of transient siblings in unconstrained stacking order is preserved in the constrained one. Committed on 21/11/2023 at 20:11. Pushed by vladz into branch 'master'. Fix screen becoming black when its geometry changes while overview is active Offscreen quick views are repainted in the pre paint step because that requires a QOpenGLContext and we don't want it to mess with kwin's opengl context. After a view is updated, its QOpenGLContext is going to be unbound. During normal operation mode, it works as expected: - the view gets updated in the pre paint stage - kwin opengl context is made current when starting the paint stage - the offscreen view is painted on the screen However, effects->renderScreen() has no such separation. The OpenGL context changes from the pre paint stage will leak to the paint stage. So we have - the workspace notifies that the screens have changed - the screen transform effect sees that, makes opengl context current and renders the screen - the offscreen quick view is updated and after OffscreenQuickView is done, it's going to call QOpenGLContext::doneCurrent() - effects->renderScreen() calls m_scene->paint() - since there's no current opengl context, vbo allocation in GLTexture::render() will fail and nothing will be rendered on the screen As a way around it, this change adds a makeOpenGLContextCurrent() call before the paint stage. It doesn't quite belong there, the opengl context has to be made current in the paint stage, e.g. by the ItemRenderer or something. But atm we have no good place where we could stick it in. [kscreenlocker] [Bug 477341] New: Turning off the screen should not lock
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477341 Bug ID: 477341 Summary: Turning off the screen should not lock Classification: Plasma Product: kscreenlocker Version: 5.27.9 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: puspitaadak9...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- There are a few ways to forcefully turn off the screen, such as the "Turn Off Screen" shortcut and `xdg-screensaver activate` command. Each of them does turn the screen off, but the screen also gets locked, even if automatic screen locking is disabled in system settings. This gets very annoying because the password needs to be typed every time I want to turn off the screen. I remember this didn't happen in the previous version of kscreenlocker. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set a shortcut for "Turn Off Screen" or run the command `xdg-screensaver activate` . 2. Invoke the shortcut. OBSERVED RESULT The screen gets locked alongside turning off. For example, you have no idea if an app will respond to touch inputs properly, or if a game will work well with a gamepad. However, it has come to my attention that the Appstream specification allows apps to list what s they support. see here: https://freedesktop.org/software/appstream/docs/chap-Metadata.html When viewing an app in Discover, would it be possible to add icons to indicate what forms of input this app supports? Screenshot attached as a rough mockup of what I'm thinking. If this is an acceptable idea, I am willing to take an honest stab at implementing this myself in a pull request. It can (easily) be that, if you are using BTRFS and have multiple subvolumes, the partition "appears" with a different minor device number on a reboot as the of a race during the initial (parallel) mount. Baloo uses a combination of the device number and inode as its internal Document ID. If it sees a file, even one it has seen before, appearing with a different device number it thinks it is a new file and indexes it again. It has been OpenSUSE users who have suffered most from this but recently also Fedora. A fix for this has landed with Frameworks 5.111.
