[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 388439] Find -> Filename - doesn't find anything in Dolphin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388439 --- Comment #7 from tagwer...@innerjoin.org --- What's the state on this now? I don't think Dolphin's behaviour has changed a lot - you do still have to be careful and make sure you know if you are asking for a filename or a content search, you sometimes have to refresh Dolphin's search results page as it can show cached results and you generally need to type two or three characters before you see results. I think skierpage's summary in Comment 3 is still correct: Baloo returns any exact matches it has if you do a single character search, not treating the query as an "o*", but a for two characters a search for "or" or treated as a search for "or*". This is for filenames, for content searches if you type one or two characters you get the exact matches, you need to type 3 characters before you get a search for "org*" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I > think accidentally dragging a tiny icon (intending to simply click it) is a > much more likely/frequent occurrence than purposely dragging one. > > If you need to configure tray icons, there's already only one place you can > configure *when* an icon is shown/hidden -- the Entries list. So I'd say > that, if you want to configure the *order* too, it makes sense to have that > in the same place, rather than having the configuration split between the > settings and the tray itself. > > I suppose draggable tray icons could be a toggleable option if users really > want it though. Just might complicate the implementation a good bit. Maybe it would, anyhow, the absolute best option in my opinion is being able to manually rearrange the order and have the list be a way to sort the icons *exclusively* in the entries list, I am genuinely completely confounded as to why how it works now is even how it works? Like, maybe most people don't have an opinion on it whatsoever, but I do personally think it would be an almost objective improvement to be able to manually order the icons. I have no idea how complicated icons you could drag would actually be, but even just having the ability to change the order of the icons at all would be nice. As far as I have seen for years, is that the answer is that you can't change the order unless you change the names of the items and put them into different groups, and I have no idea how somebody would even change this behavior. The documentation regarding the system tray could maybe be more in depth or something, I don't really know. I know that you can change where the expander arrow is by modifying the main.qml file and literally just moving it to load before the rest of the icons, but I don't know how one would link this to a config, or make it able to be modified without restarting the plasmashell. Currently I do this every update because I like the arrow on the left rather than the right (it makes it like a mini version of the menu and taskbar arrangement). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kcalc] [Bug 489790] Inconsistent behavior of result display and base conversion
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=489790 Gabriel Barrantes changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #2 from Gabriel Barrantes --- (In reply to Zakk from comment #1) > Hmm, I think this may be covered under 489660 > I see there's a commit related to fix this, I will try it and see if this > workflow is improved Is an unintended side effect... I think the best solution would be to do something as proposed in: https://invent.kde.org/utilities/kcalc/-/merge_requests/21 to keep consistency with all modes... Those fields under the radio buttons are way too small to be useful anyway and now that they are actually doing what they were intended to do the flaw is now really notorious. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 488947] Plasmashell immediately crashes when you have the wrong version of KWayland installed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488947 --- Comment #3 from zacharyta...@gmail.com --- I learned how to read a backtrace, and completely resolved my issue! --> tl;dr it's my fault, my kwayland was out of date... <-- The long version: over a year ago, I experimented with KWinFT, which required installing the git version of kwayland from the AUR, kwayland-git. *-git packages are special, because the onus falls on users to rerun installation after a version bump. (The AUR makes way more sense to me now. Bumps don't come from nowhere!) Fast-foward to the present, and I'm trying to find "wayland-plasma-window-management-client-protocol.h" from the backtrace. I attempt to build plasma-workspace for myself, and receive the error: `Could not find a configuration file for package "KWayland" that is compatible with requested version` Looking through the partially-completed build, I don't spot my desired file. So I double-check my installed kwayland version, and... yep! I've changed the title of this bug report. Original title: "Plasmashell immediately crashes on Wayland+NVIDIA" Here's the guide that taught me how to read a KCrash backtrace: http://floss.booktype.pro/kde/reading-backtraces/ -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
