For me it doesn't happen instantly. If I tweak the settings and switch between
tabs a few times it happens.

[systemsettings] [Bug 397367] New: segmentation fault on gitunstable when changing between tabs in system settings

2018-08-11 Thread Brenton Horne
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397367

Bug ID: 397367
Summary: segmentation fault on gitunstable when changing
between tabs in system settings
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: brentonhorn...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: systemsettings5 (5.13.80)

Qt Version: 5.11.1
Frameworks Version: 5.49.0
Operating System: Linux 4.15.0-30-generic x86_64
Distribution: KDE neon Developer Edition

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I was changing between tabs in system settings. It does not always trigger a
crash but still it usually doesn't take long for a crash to occur when
continually changing tabs in system settings. Specifically I was tweaking
aesthetics in it (e.g. window decorations, icons, plasma theme, etc.).

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[systemsettings] [Bug 392704] New: Feature request: add an option to sort by trends in rating as well in the "Get Hot New Stuff" interface

2018-04-04 Thread Brenton Horne
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=392704

Bug ID: 392704
Summary: Feature request: add an option to sort by trends in
rating as well in the "Get Hot New Stuff" interface
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: brentonhorn...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Very new "stuff" (themes/widgets/etc.) is almost inevitably going to have a
lower rating than older, but liked ones, that have accumulated rating over the
years, so maybe it'd be worthwhile having an option to sort by rating trend
(measured as change in rating/change in time). That way people can see new
stuff that is skyrocketing in popularity, as that may be more interesting to
see than ancient "stuff" that has just accumulated rating with time.

I propose a solution: sort themes, or other things in the store, by their rate
of change in ratings (e.g. rating change since added to store/time since it was
added to the store). Possibly even changing it into a more instantaneous rate
of change (close to a drating/dt).

Out of #373802 (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=373802) came an error I

now libpcreposix.so.0 does exist on my system in the /lib64 folder. To confirm
it was properly installed I ran rpm -qf /lib64/libpcreposix.so.0 and it
returned:

org.kde.okular was installed with (which I'm providing in case it helps to
reproduce the error):

In 5.7.4 I can easily ungroup launchers. I am using Arch Linux, maybe it might
be a packaging issue with your distro rasq37?

Now I saw the 5.6.1 changelog
(https://www.kde.org/announcements/plasma-5.6.0-5.6.1-changelog.php) and it
mentioned this fact which I soon noticed myself. Namely that applications can
no longer be left ungrouped in the Icons-only task manager. I would like to
know why, because I liked this feature. Without it, I'm considering switching
to another desktop.

Reproducible: Always

[frameworks-kwidgetsaddons] [Bug 358912] New: The view of the Network Monitor and Memory monitor widgets is obstructed by their labels

2016-02-02 Thread Brenton Horne via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358912

Bug ID: 358912
Summary: The view of the Network Monitor and Memory monitor
widgets is obstructed by their labels
   Product: frameworks-kwidgetsaddons
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: cf...@kde.org
  Reporter: brentonhorn...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org

I have noticed that whenever I add the network monitor or memory monitor
widgets to the KDE Plasma 5 panel the download speed and memory used,
respectively, are obstructed by the "wlp4s0" and "Physical memory" labels,
respectively.

Here are some screenshots to demonstrate what I mean
1. http://i.imgur.com/umvAEmq.png (network monitor)
2. http://i.imgur.com/ZpesjLW.png (memory monitor)

This issue affects KDE Plasma 5 (including the latest version 5.5.4) on at
least three different platforms that I am aware of: Arch Linux, Manjaro Linux
and Sabayon Linux. The theme used for the Plasma panel does not seem to make
any significant impact on this bug and it appears with the default theme Breeze
as well as the custom theme I am using in this screenshot, El General.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add the network monitor widget to the KDE panel
2. Add the memory monitor widget to the KDE Panel
3. Observe their appearance
