[kwin] [Bug 430807] Tap-to-click randomly stops working for the touchpad
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430807 --- Comment #10 from Ilya Bizyaev --- I'm pretty sure it's a software issue, because it influences the touchpad and because the unrelated act of switching Plasma activities can be used as a workaround. There are variations of how this bug occurs when after getting triggered once it starts repeating, and only one tap works as expected, so I have to switch activities after every tap for clicking to work, without any interaction with the Fn key. As established earlier in this thread, the events sent by the touchpad are the same, so it's not some laptop-wide hardware breakage. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 430807] Tap-to-click randomly stops working for the touchpad
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430807 --- Comment #8 from Ilya Bizyaev --- Update on the Kate involvement: it's not Kate, but rather Home/End keys. On my laptop, they are accessible as Fn+(left/right keys). Sometimes when I press Home/End, the text cursor starts moving towards the start/end of the line letter-by-letter instead of jumping immediately. This triggers the tap-to-click bug, and sometimes also scrolling with two fingers stops working. All this mess somehow disappears when I press Meta-Tab twice, switching from an activity and back... This happens randomly, but regularly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 435509] New: Notify when new devices are connected
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435509 Bug ID: 435509 Summary: Notify when new devices are connected Product: plasmashell Version: 5.21.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Reporter: bizy...@zoho.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Recently the "Device can be safely ejected" state gained an option to notify the user with a sound. I noted that it would be nice to also notify the user that a new device was plugged in, like Windows does for USB flash drives. Nate suggested to generalize this idea to 'any devices', e.g. mice and keyboards as well, to let the user know that the system has recognized them. My muscle memory from the past Kickoff and App Dasboard conflicts with this: a single arrow key press there selects the second result. This seems more natural: if you need the first result, you just press Enter; if you need the second result, you press arrow and then Enter. In the new Kickoff, "Enter" and "arrow, Enter" now do the same, which is weird and redundant. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Launch Kickoff and search for something that gives multiple results 2. This is a permanent state in a sense because once it starts you can only temporarily work around it by doing an activity switch (pressing Meta+Tab twice). I suspect that this bug itself gets triggered after nth Plasma activity switch, but I am not certain. [Spectacle] [Bug 430260] New: Annotating images crops and pixelates them
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=430260 Bug ID: 430260 Summary: Annotating images crops and pixelates them Product: Spectacle Version: 20.12.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com Reporter: bizy...@zoho.com CC: k...@david-redondo.de Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When I try to annotate a screenshot with Spectacle's new editor, it gets cropped on the bottom-right. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Press PrtSc 2. Create any screenshot 3. Click "Annotate" 4. Regardless of making edits, click "Annotation done" 5. The resulting screenshot (shown/copied/saved) is always cropped (losing parts on the right and bottom) and looks low-res. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.2 KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Graphics Processor: Mesa DRI Intel® UHD Graphics ADDITIONAL INFORMATION If I make a screenshot of my full screen, the resulting image is of correct resolution, which makes me think the problem is that the annotated image is being upscaled for some reason, and that's why it becomes pixelated and extends the canvas. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
