[kpat] [Bug 487231] New: Hint button is too close to the demo button
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487231 Bug ID: 487231 Summary: Hint button is too close to the demo button Classification: Applications Product: kpat Version: 24.02.2 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: co...@kde.org Reporter: cmdrkoto...@gmail.com CC: kde-games-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When playing a game while focusing on the cards (instead of the mouse), moving the mouse near the end of the toolbar with your peripheral vision can sometimes land the mouse cursor on the demo button instead of the hint button. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start spider solitaire game 2. Click hint without being overtly careful about where the cursor is OBSERVED RESULT Mouse cursor sometimes misses hint and presses demo EXPECTED RESULT Mouse hits hint every time SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.2.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 Kernel Version: 6.8.9-arch1-2 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Failing a gui overhaul, perhaps a popup could be added asking if the demo mode is desired. You may ask, "Why even bother with this?" Well accidentally entering demo mode even for short while and undoing the computer-made moves will change the ending text from "congratulations you have won" to "congratulations we have won". Naturally, when one did not wish to enter demo mode, this diminishes the sense of accomplishment of completing a game. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

This tinting feature was in KDE3, but was removed during the upgrade to KDE4. Why? I have a nice wallpaper of clouds (1), but it would be absolutely perfect if it was slightly darker. If plasma drew black/dark-grey (or some other color of choice) at 25% opacity (or other desired value) over the image, I wouldn't have to make a separate image to achieve the same effect. KDE3 also had a setting for tinting with gradients. This could make the bottom of the wallpaper darker than the top for example. But if gradients are no longer possible then fair enough. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. right click desktop 2. click Configure Desktop and Wallpaper OBSERVED RESULT The setting to add sedate tinting to the desktop image has been removed. [systemsettings] [Bug 478891] New: Controls rendered behind kcm title on Qt 6.7
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478891 Bug ID: 478891 Summary: Controls rendered behind kcm title on Qt 6.7 Classification: Applications Product: systemsettings Version: 5.91.0 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: cmdrkoto...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 164369 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=164369=edit Screenshot of kcm_access and the same module in systemsettings SUMMARY Controls on some pages on systemsettings are rendered under the kcm title. It is possible to click through the title to the control underneath. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Be on Plasma 6 Beta 2 2. Use QML_DISABLE_DISK_CACHE=1 to get around Qt 6.7 specific bug preventing the modules from loading 3. Open any systemsettings module that is notably affected (such as accessibility, any of the theme modules) OBSERVED RESULT Controls are obscured by the module's title EXPECTED RESULT Controls are placed below the title SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux running kde-unstable repo (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.91.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.247.0 Qt Version: 6.7.0 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I can also reproduce by running `kcmshell6 kcm_access` as shown in the picture. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kate] [Bug 478717] New: Duplicate keyboard accelerators in the file menu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478717 Bug ID: 478717 Summary: Duplicate keyboard accelerators in the file menu Classification: Applications Product: kate Version: 24.01.80 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: cmdrkoto...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Duplicate keyboard accelerators in the file menu break Alt+F S. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open file in kate 2. Press Alt+F S 3. Save is highlighted but not activated OBSERVED RESULT To actually save, I have to press enter after highlighting the save item. With the file menu open, repeatedly pressing S switches the highlight between Close Other and Save As The same thing also happens when I press A (switching between two menu items - Save As and Reload All). EXPECTED RESULT Save is activated and the file is saved immediately. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux with kde-unstable repo (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.90.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.246.0 Qt Version: 6.6.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Alt+F Q works fine in kate and quits the application as expected. So does Alt+F C for closing the file. It just seems that the save menu item (and the other items above) are bugged. The keyboard accelerator for Save (Alt+F S) and Save As (Alt+F A) are probably the more important keyboard accelerators to keep, due to consistency with other word processing applications. My LANG is EN_AU.UTF-8 if that means anything. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 478546] New: Sticky note widget's minimum size is too large
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478546 Bug ID: 478546 Summary: Sticky note widget's minimum size is too large Classification: Plasma Product: kdeplasma-addons Version: 5.90.0 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: notes Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: cmdrkoto...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 164185 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=164185=edit Screenshot of the desktop with adjacent indicator widgets SUMMARY Sticky note's minimum size is now too large. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have a sticky note on the desktop in a column with other widgets, resized to the same width 2. Update plasma 5 to the latest beta OBSERVED RESULT See attachment. This is the minimum size of the widget. I've had to shrink (vertically) some indicator widgets to make room for the sticky note. The sticky notes is now comically large in comparison to the adjacent widgets; I can't make it smaller. EXPECTED RESULT Sticky note inherits the size from plasma 5, like the indicator widgets do. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux running the beta from kde-unstable repo KDE Plasma Version: 5.90 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.246.0 Qt Version: 6.6.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I couldn't find the right component to file this under, (the page doesn't say anything about the stock widgets,) so I picked the closest. Hope this helps. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Koko] [Bug 470662] New: Koko should inhibit the screensaver
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470662 Bug ID: 470662 Summary: Koko should inhibit the screensaver Classification: Applications Product: Koko Version: 23.04.1 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: General Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: cmdrkoto...@gmail.com CC: n...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Koko should inhibit the screensaver while playing long videos. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Play a video longer than the screen locker timeout without touching the mouse or keyboard OBSERVED RESULT Screen does not lock EXPECTED RESULT Screen locks while the video is playing SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.106.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is a solved problem in one of my applications (mpc-qt), and I am willing to license all of the files from https://github.com/mpc-qt/mpc-qt/tree/master/platform (files beginning with 'screensaver' in particular) under the license terms used by koko or the larger kde ecosystem. And/or you may take an educational look at how I solved this issue, I don't care which. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[ktorrent] [Bug 454637] New: Ktorrent should show session upload/download columns
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454637 Bug ID: 454637 Summary: Ktorrent should show session upload/download columns Product: ktorrent Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: joris.guis...@gmail.com Reporter: cmdrkoto...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY ktorrent should show session upload/download columns (like qBittorrent). At present there is only a global session transfer value in the bottom-right corner. A session upload column would for example allow one to see which torrents were recently active. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open ktorrent with partially seeded torrents 2. Wait a while 3. Try to determine which torrent had uploaded OBSERVED RESULT I can't determine which torrents were active because I can't remember what every torrent's upload amount was at the beginning of the session. EXPECTED RESULT An easy way to check which torrents were active.
