[kid3] [Bug 487692] allow importing from release UUID from MusicBrainz

2024-06-19 Thread Mikel Pérez
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487692

(In reply to Urs Fleisch from comment #1)

> be999e8e6f4f0944f51f0e65bca364b465951c9a "Support enter URL as search into

> import dialog and then enter a MusicBrainz URL in the first search field and
> click "Find", you will then find a single entry with exactly that release in

o, indeed. it's just I had been trying with the second field, thinking that
it would be more appropiate there since it's the release name and the first
field is the artist's. maybe, if it isn't that difficult, could be done on any
of them?

[kid3] [Bug 487692] New: allow importing from release UUID from MusicBrainz

2024-05-28 Thread Mikel Pérez
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487692

Bug ID: 487692
Summary: allow importing from release UUID from MusicBrainz
Classification: Applications
   Product: kid3
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Flatpak
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: uflei...@users.sourceforge.net
  Reporter: i...@mikelpr.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Some releases share names and are compilations (Various Artists) and it is a
chore and sometimes even impossible to find with the MusicBrainz release
importer, whereas using the release UUID (or the whole URL) would get it done
inmediately

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open Import from MusicBrainz release
2. try to lookup
https://musicbrainz.org/release/bc3adcd4-4720-4e03-ab39-64c6d6b4b86b

OBSERVED RESULT
I can't find
https://musicbrainz.org/release/bc3adcd4-4720-4e03-ab39-64c6d6b4b86b in the
list by searching Sampler Vol. 1 | Various Artists and anyways it is very
impractical and confusing as there are many similarly called releases

EXPECTATIONS
being able to paste bc3adcd4-4720-4e03-ab39-64c6d6b4b86b or
https://musicbrainz.org/release/bc3adcd4-4720-4e03-ab39-64c6d6b4b86b for
instantly getting the data

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20240508
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0
Kernel Version: 6.8.8-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5700G with Radeon Graphics
Memory: 31.1 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I filled that release manually on the musicbrainz website and it is a pain I
can't fetch the tags because it is a common name when I have the UUID which
would perfectly and instantly get me the data I uploaded to musicbrainz

sorry for the late reply, but I don't remember having scaled it to 666 x 555
when I opened while krita still had the aspect ratio bug but then I don't
remember what PPI I used back then nor if that PPI window even showed up...
The PPI bug still exists but I guess it should be filled as another bug.

I think I may have originally missed the XWayland or was very vague just
replying that yes I was running Wayland and that it didn't happen on the X11
session, sorry about that I can't remember lol.
Anyways, this isn't happening to me anymore and I've also tried with
GDK_BACKEND=x11 so it isn't broken on XWayland either. I don't know what fixed
this nor when so I'm going to close it as RESOLVED WORKSFORME.

Indeed, thanks! There is still a bug with GTK apps tho because they don't
respect bigger cursors. Doesn't affect me because I want the 24 cursor and they
do stay the same on 24 but they stay 24 too when 48 is selected

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Input Method
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: i...@mikelpr.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
annoyingly GTK apps do not respect whichever keyboard layout is set when on the

[systemsettings] [Bug 421069] New: touchpad settings reset on many instances

2020-05-05 Thread Mikel Pérez
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421069

Bug ID: 421069
Summary: touchpad settings reset on many instances
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.18.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_touchpad
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: i...@mikelpr.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
touchpad settings, like natural scrolling and speed, reset a lot. an obvious
one being on disconnect - when reconnected, it behaves as on defaults even as
systemsettings reports the settings I want. so I turn device enabled on and off
for the apply button to become available and click apply and it's back to my
settings

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. apply custom (non-default) touchpad settings
2. disconnect touchpad (I'm using a magic trackpad in this case so I just turn
it off)
3. reconnect

OBSERVED RESULT
touchpad settings behave as if they were set to their defaults but
systemsettings reflects the custom settings

EXPECTED RESULT
touchpad behaving with the custom settings

just on disconnects but that's an easy deterministic one to try

I'm aware of that, but I thought the translucency effect was the one adding the
translucency to the menus, but it turned out to be breeze. what I'm saying is
that only the menus that respect breeze's transparency are blurred, in case it
helps you pinpoint the issue

oh, I thought the transparency was due to the Translucency effect -- but it's
actually due to both! breeze's transparency yields the properly blurred
(because i have the blur effect on) translucent menus -but normal ones on
flatpak qt apps and (non-flatpaked) gtk apps-, while the Translucency effect
(in Desktop Behaviour > Desktop Effects) yields the translucent but not blurred
menus on gtk and flatpaks

[kwin] [Bug 405632] New: draws menus offscreen / menus always flow right

2019-03-19 Thread Mikel Pérez
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405632

Bug ID: 405632
Summary: draws menus offscreen / menus always flow right
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.14.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: appmenu
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: i...@mikelpr.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 118905
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=118905&action=edit
mixxx maximized, app menu button on the right of the window decoration

SUMMARY
application menus are drawn offscreen and submenus invisible if I place the
menu on the right side of the window decoration

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. add app menu to the right
2. drag window to be near right, or maximize
3. click app menu

OBSERVED RESULT
cropped app menu, or submenus

EXPECTED RESULT
menus flowing left because they don't fit

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Fedora 29
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0
Qt Version: 5.11.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've attached a pic. I can't see any submenu in mixx, and I suppose I can see
the first menus because they're almost the width of the app menu + its two
friends up there

so, what I got from that, ending with
https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/pull/2065, is that it had to be implemented
by the toolkit, GTK in their case, he implemented something in gtk but he
finally says he's going with a portal instead and the repo he links to says
nothing about it.

am gonna ask there but hopefully anyone (Jan) already knows how to handle this

[kwin] [Bug 405619] kwin won't blur flatpak menus

2019-03-18 Thread Mikel Pérez
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405619

actually on wayland it's something different: it works on non-flatpak apps the
first 3-4 times and then starts only being translucent most of the time but
sometimes it's also blurry. with flatpak apps both effects just don't work
