[plasmashell] [Bug 356219] New: Keyboard layout switched randomly when switching between applications

2015-12-02 Thread Ondřej Kučera via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356219

Bug ID: 356219
Summary: Keyboard layout switched randomly when switching
between applications
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.4.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: ondrej.kuc...@centrum.cz
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

I'm using two keyboard layouts: English and Czech. I've set "Switching Policy"
to "Application" and I've also assigned a custom global shortcut (Meta+K) to
layout switching (I don't know whether it's relevant). What happens from time
to time (but definitely at least ten times a day, probably more often) is that
when I switch to an application that had English layout the last time it had
focus, now it suddenly has Czech layout.
I actually can't remember for sure whether this happens when switching between
applications on the same desktop but it definitely happens when switching
between applications by switching desktops (again: maybe this is relevant,
maybe not).
Unfortunately I haven't found an exact way to simulate this, it just "happens".

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
See above. I don't know a reliable way to reproduce this.

[telepathy] [Bug 356220] New: Keyboard layout not being switched using a keyboard shortcut

2015-12-02 Thread Ondřej Kučera via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 356220
Summary: Keyboard layout not being switched using a keyboard
shortcut
   Product: telepathy
   Version: 15.08.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: text-ui
  Assignee: kde-telepathy-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: ondrej.kuc...@centrum.cz

I'm using two keyboard layouts (English and Czech) and a custom global shortcut
(Meta+K) for switching. When I'm in the chat window, the Czech layout is
activated (for example) and I press Meta+K, Plasma shows me an "OSD image" of
keyboard being switched to English but that in fact doesn't happen.
When I use the icon in the system tray instead of the keyboard shortcut,
everything works as expected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure two keyboard layouts.
2. Open the chat window.
3. Press a keyboard shortcut for layout switching (Ctrl+Alt+K by default,
IIRC).

Actual Results:
The layout isn't switched.

Expected Results:
The layout should be switched.

When I go offline, some of the contacts that were online at that moment
disappear from the contact list (which makes sense because "Show Offline
Contacts" is off) but others still remain shown as online, which is weird (esp.
the part where some of them do disappear and some of them don't).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go online.
2. Check that "Show Offline Contacts" is off.
3. Go offline.

Actual Results:
Some contacts remain shown with their last online status.

Expected Results:
No contact should be seen at that moment.

When using OTR for chatting with a contact, no messages are saved to the

Still it would be nice to have an option in the settings that I know what I'm
doing and that I indeed do want to save even messages from an OTR session. (I
trust my ability to protect the data on my hard drive generally much more than
I trust the people I'm chatting with to do the same. If they use a different
client which saves even OTR sessions, it's more likely the data are unsafe on
their computer than on mine.)

The overall list of contacts in the log viewer either isn't sorted at all or by
criteria I can't figure out. It is structure by contact groups, that's good,
but even contact groups aren't sorted either alphabetically or perhaps by the
latest message (the only two criteria that would make sense to me). Contacts in

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360127

Bug ID: 360127
Summary: Items in the log viewer aren't sorted by any apparent
criteria
   Product: telepathy
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: log-viewer
  Assignee: kde-telepathy-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: ondrej.kuc...@centrum.cz

The overall list of contacts in the log viewer either isn't sorted at all or by
criteria I can't figure out. It is structure by contact groups, that's good,
but even contact groups aren't sorted either alphabetically or perhaps by the
latest message (the only two criteria that would make sense to me). Contacts in
the groups aren't then again sorted at all (either by name or by time).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the log viewer.
2. See the order of contacts.

Actual Results:
The items are assorted.

Expected Results:
The items are sorted by something reasonable. In my opinion by name but some
might argue that by the time of the lase message would be better for them.

[telepathy] [Bug 360128] New: Cannot import Kopete logs

2016-03-05 Thread Ondřej Kučera via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360128

Bug ID: 360128
   Summary: Cannot import Kopete logs
   Product: telepathy
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: log-viewer
  Assignee: kde-telepathy-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: ondrej.kuc...@centrum.cz

When selecting "Logs -> Import Kopete Logs" from the menu, I only get an
information window saying "No Kopete logs found."
The logs are where they should be, as far as I know, that is in
~/.kde4/share/apps/kopete/logs/JabberProtocol.
It might be a good idea to provide a way for the user to manually select the
directory where to look for the Kopete history when the automatic detection
fails.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have Kopete history in ~/.kde4/share/apps/kopete/logs/JabberProtocol.
2. Select "Logs -> Import Kopete Logs" from the Log Viewer menu.

Actual Results:
The Kopete history isn't found.

Expected Results:
The Kopete history is imported.

I haven't noticed this behavior for at least a few days (maybe even weeks), so
it seems fixed in 5.5.4. I've always suspected that it might have been somehow
connected to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356220 which is also already
fixed (but maybe it's a coincidence).

[plasmashell] [Bug 356219] New: Keyboard layout switched randomly when switching between applications

2015-12-02 Thread Ondřej Kučera via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356219

Bug ID: 356219
Summary: Keyboard layout switched randomly when switching
between applications
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.4.3
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: ondrej.kuc...@centrum.cz
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

I'm using two keyboard layouts: English and Czech. I've set "Switching Policy"
to "Application" and I've also assigned a custom global shortcut (Meta+K) to
layout switching (I don't know whether it's relevant). What happens from time
to time (but definitely at least ten times a day, probably more often) is that
when I switch to an application that had English layout the last time it had
focus, now it suddenly has Czech layout.
I actually can't remember for sure whether this happens when switching between
applications on the same desktop but it definitely happens when switching
between applications by switching desktops (again: maybe this is relevant,
maybe not).
Unfortunately I haven't found an exact way to simulate this, it just "happens".

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
See above. I don't know a reliable way to reproduce this.

[telepathy] [Bug 356220] New: Keyboard layout not being switched using a keyboard shortcut

2015-12-02 Thread Ondřej Kučera via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356220

Bug ID: 356220
Summary: Keyboard layout not being switched using a keyboard
shortcut
   Product: telepathy
   Version: 15.08.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: text-ui
  Assignee: kde-telepathy-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: ondrej.kuc...@centrum.cz

I'm using two keyboard layouts (English and Czech) and a custom global shortcut
(Meta+K) for switching. When I'm in the chat window, the Czech layout is
activated (for example) and I press Meta+K, Plasma shows me an "OSD image" of
keyboard being switched to English but that in fact doesn't happen.
When I use the icon in the system tray instead of the keyboard shortcut,
everything works as expected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Configure two keyboard layouts.
2. Open the chat window.
3. Press a keyboard shortcut for layout switching (Ctrl+Alt+K by default,
IIRC).

Actual Results:
The layout isn't switched.

Expected Results:
The layout should be switched.

Icon in System Tray showing the number of unread feeds looks as if scaled up
from a very small size. I looks much worse than other System Tray icons.

[telepathy] [Bug 356268] New: Some contacts still shown as online when going offline

2015-12-04 Thread Ondřej Kučera via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356268

Bug ID: 356268
Summary: Some contacts still shown as online when going offline
   Product: telepathy
   Version: 15.08.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: contactlist
  Assignee: kde-telepathy-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: ondrej.kuc...@centrum.cz

When I go offline, some of the contacts that were online at that moment
disappear from the contact list (which makes sense because "Show Offline
Contacts" is off) but others still remain shown as online, which is weird (esp.
the part where some of them do disappear and some of them don't).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go online.
2. Check that "Show Offline Contacts" is off.
3. Go offline.

Actual Results:
Some contacts remain shown with their last online status.

Expected Results:
No contact should be seen at that moment.
