[plasmashell] [Bug 423664] New: Media Player plasmoid shortcuts not working

2020-06-29 Thread Phos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423664

Bug ID: 423664
Summary: Media Player plasmoid shortcuts not working
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.18.5
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Media Player
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: phosph0phyll...@yandex.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
Media keys/shortcuts do not work properly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use the media player plasmoid
2. Change from "choose player automatically" to something else (in my case I
changed to audacious for music with firefox, I have plasma intergration)
3. Changing it back to "choose player automatically" does not fix the issue.

OBSERVED RESULT
Shortcuts such as pressing the media pause key stops working and reassigning
the shortcut fails to fix the issue. Logout/login fixes the issue.

EXPECTED RESULT
Media shortcut keys work properly when pressed.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro 5.6.16-1
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am using the plasma intergration plugin.
Pause/play also does not work with wireless headphones.
Other media keys like next/previous do not work.

2020-07-04 Thread Phos

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1)
> When it's in a broken state, what audio source is displayed in the Media
> Player system tray applet?

It breaks the moment you change it from "Choose player automatically" to
something else. In my case I change it from "Choose player automatically" to
"firefox" (when watching a youtube video), then it breaks. Changing it back to
"Choose player automatically" does not fix the issue.
To clarify, it breaks the moment you change it to something other than "Choose
player automatically"

It shows firefox whenever I change it to firefox. Then it breaks. It is not
unique to firefox either, the same thing happens when you change it to
audacious.

Its not the file that causes it to crash, so the file isn't useful. For
example, if I rename the same file (that causes it to crash) from test.kvtml to
test2.kvtml it won't crash anymore. Renaming it back to test.kvtml will cause

The only file there is the test file in that folder.
There is nothing else.
Its why I'm not sure why this issue is occuring.

Huh, the flatpak version of kwordquiz is now exhibiting the same issue as the
normal package. First it gives me the error "File not readable" then it says
the same "The file is locked by another process" when opening it the second
time.

Deleting all the files in ~/.local/share/stalefiles/kwordquiz doesn't fix the
problem. It gives the "File is not readable" when trying to open the .kvtml
file the first time then outputting "The File is locked by another process"
when opening the same file the second time

IGNORE WHAT I WROTE PREVIOUSLY, IT WAS INCORRECT (I had the flatpak version
installed which is why deleting those files did nothing)

When I tested it again after deleting the files in
~/.local/share/stalefiles/kwordquiz it works again.
So kwordquiz is not handling the lock files correctly for some reason.

SUMMARY

Currently the Overview effect is lacking many features that I find very useful
in the Present Windows effect. The ability to customize the appearance of
windows in the effect, window actions such as right clicking to close a window,
reducing the gaps between each window (I find the gaps to be too large), and
most importantly activating the effect to see windows in the current desktop,
windows with a similar window class, and windows on all desktops.

For reference please take a look at the "Present Windows" effect in System
Settings --> Workspace Behavior --> Desktop Effects --> Present Windows.

Could you please elaborate exactly what is not generally useful and not
relevant to the effect. For example, right clicking to close windows in the
effect is incredibly useful and makes more sense instead of aiming for the tiny
x on the top right

The problem is that it is quite jarring that the "Loading More..." placeholder
just pops up and occupies the whole window rather than being at the bottom of
the list when loading more items. It should be something similar to infinite
scrolling where the "Loading More..." should be at the bottom of the list.

than the associated program in the "File Associations" System Settings KCM

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create and Compress a .md file

[Koko] [Bug 447350] New: Change cropping behavior

2021-12-21 Thread Phos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447350

Bug ID: 447350
   Summary: Change cropping behavior
   Product: Koko
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: phosph0phyll...@yandex.com
CC: n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Change cropping to two clicks

OBSERVED RESULT
Pressing the crop button currently places a large cropping rectangle along the
edge of an image. This is a bit of a pain to use if the image is large and the
crop is small

EXPECTED RESULT
When pressing crop, it should dim the image (to indicate something has changed,
the final crop area will not be dimmed), and clicking the first time will place
the first crop anchor and clicking the second time will place the second crop
anchor.

[kwin] [Bug 455780] WindowHeap-based effects are slightly slower to activate than previous versions

2022-10-22 Thread Phos
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455780

It seems to have gotten worse again in 5.26. The new animation curves are nice
though. Still a very noticeable lag between pressing the button and the
animation.
Another issue with 5.26 is that the animation never plays again when you
activate the effects multiple times. For example, the Present Windows effect
just doesn't play when you press the activation button multiple times.

It takes the animation so long to activate that I have already released the
key. Its pretty jarring how slow it is to activate.

2022-10-22 Thread Phos

OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

 Component: EPub backend
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: phyl...@protonmail.com

SUMMARY
Currently you can only change the default font in the EPUB backend for okular.
I'd like there to be more options to improve the reading experience. For
example adding an option to change margin width and line height to improve
reading comfort. Currently it is quite uncomfortable to read epubs on Okular.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open epub in okular

OBSERVED RESULT
Line heights and margins are tiny

EXPECTED RESULT
Have adjustable options for line height and margins in epub backend
configuration
