You have a 'strange situation' which may (or may not) be caused by some unusual interaction between your Windows 10 system and krita 4.2.6 which does not occur between my Windows 10 system and krita 4.2.6. I'd suggest one more thing which is to download the krita 4.2.7 beta-1 portable zip package and try that: https://krita.org/en/item/lets-test-krita-4-2-7-beta/ (which I've just tried with no problems). Yes I meant clicking "save" in the text edit window. It immediately freezes. I tried doing this with a new file. Same result. However, I did notice I had to save the file, exit, reload the saved file, and then attempt the edit for it to freeze. I tried that and also did a file Save after with no problems. I nevertheless removed all layer effect and still reproduced the freeze. It does take about 20 seconds to open the file because you have a Bevel and Emboss layer style applied to a colour fill background layer.
