do you know any way to this better?

I had tried in the past to grayscale the contents and afterwards paint them
with QML Colorize but it didnt work nice. At its current state the Colorize
effect respects only transparency from applets and not colors

By the way, shouldn't the monochrome effect be more like a grayscale instead of
just blanking out the icons?

It was the "Paint content based on active window scheme" setting the culprit.
I know it is not ready yest but I didn't thought it would also apply the
monochrome effect in its current state.

SUMMARY
When "force solid background when touching any window" setting is activated, a
monochrome effect is also applied to the panel. I think it would be nice to
have the ability to choose if apply that, or just to force the solid
background.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a new panel
2. Activate "force solid background when touching any window" setting
3. Snap a window to the panel

OBSERVED RESULT
The panel background becomes solid and a monochrome effect is applied.

EXPECTED RESULT
The panel background becomes solid and the user can choose whether a monochrome
effect is applied or not.
