Thank you for the bug report!

Please note that Plasma 5.25.5 is not supported for much longer by KDE;
supported versions are 5.24, and 5.26 or newer.

If at all possible please upgrade to a supported version and verify that the
bug is still happening there.

If you're unsure how to do this, contact your distributor about it.

[Falkon] [Bug 460997] New: Highlight downloaded file in file manager using D-Bus org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowItems

2022-10-25 Thread probono
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=460997

Bug ID: 460997
Summary: Highlight downloaded file in file manager using D-Bus
org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowItems
Classification: Applications
   Product: Falkon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: FreeBSD
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: prob...@puredarwin.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When double-clicking on a downloaded file in the Downloads window, the file
manager should open the window that contains the file and highlight the file.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download a file
2. From the Downloads window, double-click the downloaded file

OBSERVED RESULT

Currently it only opens the folder without highlighting the file.

EXPECTED RESULT

When double-clicking on a downloaded file in the Downloads window, the file
manager should open the window that contains the file and highlight the file.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Falkon 3.2.0 package on FreeBSD 13.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

To achieve this, D-Bus org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowItems can be used.
Example:

% dbus-send --session \
  --print-reply \
  --dest=org.freedesktop.FileManager1 \
  /org/freedesktop/FileManager1 \
  org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowItems \
  array:string:"file:/etc/os-release" string:""

This should open the file manager at /etc and highlight the os-release file.

Of course this can be done in Qt rather than using the dbus-send command line
tool; the above is just an example to illustrate the concept. If D-Bus is not
available or the call fails, then Falkon could always fall back to the current
method of opening the folder.

[neon] [Bug 460963] neon-keyring is broken or not fully installed

2022-10-25 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=460963

I had a pop-up message during the upgrade saying:

Could not install 'neon-keyring'
The upgrade will continue but the 'neon-keyring' package may not be in a
working state
Please consider submitting a bug report about it

Installed neon-keyring package post-installation script subprocess returned
exit status 1

The upgrade continued but then said

The Upgrade has aborted. Your system could be in an unstable state
A recovery will run now (dpkg --configure -a)

and

The upgrade has completed but there were errors during the upgrade process

followed by a fair amount of detail that included the line:

gpg: invalid key resource URL: /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/home:pzz.gpg

I see this info in:

/var/log/apt/term.log

This was a system where I had previously installed a test version of 'sane
airscan'.

Subsequently offline updates gave a failure as reported (the post-installation
script, exit status 1, failure)

I did have a file:
/etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/home:pzz.gpg
I think dating from that test version of sane.

I rolled back, moved the file out the way, reran the upgrade and all was OK. It
may be that just moving the file out the way after the upgrade is sufficient.

I think it might be a question of remembering what you might have installed
"from elsewhere", whether you still need it and or can remove it.

Summary: Windows are too big to fit the interface inside the

Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.26.1
  Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: wayland-generic

Created attachment 153208

Gwenview as an example, even with the panel to the side the interface doesn't
fit.

SUMMARY
***
NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug
symbols.
See
https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports
***

The default sizes of windows are too big to fit on low resolution screens (HD
resolution).
Because of this part of the interface of the programas get's hidden outside of
the screen..
You have to manually create a rule to force a lower minimal size, but on
Wayland these rules simple don't work.

And while I'm at it, the little "windows/popups" from the widgets on the
notification panel could also be allowed to be resized to a smaller size, I
think they're too big.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Gwenview (for example)
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Part of the interface, specially the bottom part, is outside the screen.

EXPECTED RESULT
All the interface should be visible

macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Neon User Edition
(available in About System)

programs. Windows inside programs that should be small are also bigger than
they should.

[kwayland-integration] [Bug 461001] New: Restoring cursor visibility fails with Blender on Wayland with Tablet events

2022-10-25 Thread Campbell Barton
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461001

Bug ID: 461001
Summary: Restoring cursor visibility fails with Blender on
Wayland with Tablet events
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwayland-integration
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: wayland

 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: ideasma...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

On Blender, restoring cursor visibility fails, leaving the cursor entirely
hidden.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Note that I have worked around this bug in Blender, see:

- To reproduce this bug, use a Blender build without the workaround, SHA1
`c4f9e4afab8c51e271fc6a313ccd2dd0b8d3186c` (using Blender's source with `make
lite` is sufficient, or I can provide a build from our build-server if that's
preferable).
- The issue has been worked around in
`78b13ab3db70cca977585e29407445d2d1502fbf`
(https://developer.blender.org/rB78b13ab3db70cca977585e29407445d2d1502fbf),
which might give a hint to how this can be fixed.

**Exact steps for others to reproduce the error**
1. Load up default cube scene `blender --factory-startup`
2. Switch to the "Rotate tool" (on the left hand tool bar, 4th tool down from
the top)
3. Use a tablet to click on the rotate gizmo and do some rotation.
4. Position the tablet cursor so it is not on the gizmo when the tablet press
is released.
5. The mouse cursor is now hidden (UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOR)

OBSERVED RESULT

The cursor remains hidden on releasing the tablet press.

EXPECTED RESULT

The cursor should be visible (the default arrow cursor) when releasing the
tablet press.

KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- This seems like a bug as it only happens with tablet events, not mouse
events.
- This issue doesn't occur in Gnome-shell (mutter 42.5).

resized. This happens only if the "Wobbly Windows" effect is activated. This
did not happen in 5.25.5 (the window was wobbly without the colours reverting
to normal).

As you may imagine, this is quite distracting and unpleasant, as there are
colours flashing about every time an inverted window is moved.

Disabling the "Wobbly Windows" effect seems to fix the issue, so I guess there
is something amiss when the two effects are combined.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Invert a window's colour's via an appropriate KWin shortcut OR use the
"Invert Effect" (but not the "Invert Screen Colours" effect)
2. Ensure "Wobbly Windows" effect is activated.
3. Move (either by dragging the toolbar or via the "move" modifier key) or
resize the window.

OBSERVED RESULT
Window colours revert to normal while the move / resize operation is taking
place. The window returns to its reverted mode once the move / resize operation
is complete (e.g. mouse button has been released)

EXPECTED RESULT
Window colours should remain inverted during the move / resize operation.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

KDE Plasma Version: 5.61.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99
Qt Version: 5.15.6

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The "Invert Screen Colours" effect mentioned above (which is different to the
"Toggle invert effect"), which also inverts the whole screen, does not seem to
trigger the bug.

If I recall correctly, Nate Graham mentioned at another instance that one of
the effects is built-in, while the other is a "desktop effects" version (not
sure which is which, though).

Also, moving the window via the "Meta+arrow key" route does not seem to trigger
the effect either (the inverted window is moved without any colour change
triggered. It is also not triggered during the "maximise" animation that
happens when "Meta+PgUp" is used to maximise the window.

[plasmashell] [Bug 461003] New: Cannot remove folders that no longer exist from slideshow wallpaper folder list.

2022-10-25 Thread Tim Carr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461003

Bug ID: 461003
Summary: Cannot remove folders that no longer exist from
slideshow wallpaper folder list.
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Image Wallpaper
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: t...@timcarr.me
CC: notm...@gmail.com, qydwhotm...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a directory. (Doesn't have to contain images, as this bug works
either way)
2. Add that directory as a folder for the slideshow wallpaper to search in.
3. Delete the directory
4. Open the desktop settings panel again, and while the folder still appears in
the list (expected) it can no longer be removed from the list using the "-"
"Remove Folder" button.

EXPECTED RESULT
Should be able to remove folder paths from the list without having to re-create
them in the file system, or having to edit
plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc config to remove the manually.

Can reproduce with NVIDIA, WTF.

Apps being unresponsive is kinda expected side effect, because color picker
"freezes" the picture via KWin effects, and lets you select a color. But I
certainly didn't expect them to become so unresponsive, up to the point that
System Monitor -> History page don't get updated which the picture is "frozen".

Don't run colorcorrectlocationupdater unnecessarily

Don't run the colorcorrectlocationupdater kded module when the user is not
using Automatic location for Night Color. The module would not have attempted
geolocation in that case anyway, but having it show as running would be
misleading, as it would give the impression that geolocation was actually
happening despite the user having disabled it, which isn't the case.

FIXED-IN: 5.27

# Test Plan

## Case 1: Already on Automatic location

1. Change the mode to automatic *before* installing any of the changes in this
MR. Ensure ~/.config/kded5rc does not have a
`[Module-colorcorrectlocationupdater]` group.
2. Build and install MR.
3. Restart system.
4. Check that the "Automatic Location for Night Color" service is running and
set to autoload, in System Settings > Background Services.

**NOTE:** The Background Services KCM does not auto-reload changes to service
status. You need to close and open the KCM for it to pick up on those.

## Case 2: Already not on automatic location

1. Change the mode to something other than automatic *before* installing any of
the changes in this MR. Ensure ~/.config/kded5rc does not have a
`[Module-colorcorrectlocationupdater]` group.
2. Build and install MR.
3. Restart system.
4. Check that the "Automatic Location for Night Color" service is *not* running
and autoload is *disabled*, in System Settings > Background Services.

**NOTE:** If you've already tested Case 1: enabling autoload of the service
from System Settings > Background Services, then installing the old versions of
libcolorcorrect (colorcorrectlocationupdater) and the Night Color KCM, then
restarting, should give you a system which is in the "before installing this
MR" state.

## Case 3: Switching back and forth

1. Build and install MR.
2. In System Settings > Night Color, change between Automatic and non-Automatic
modes and apply.
3. Check that the "Automatic Location for Night Color" service is correctly
running/not-running and autoload is enabled/disabled, in System Settings >
Background Services.
4. Repeat for back-and-forth.

[kde] [Bug 460996] New: qmlkonsole keyboard button doesn't hide the keyboard

2022-10-25 Thread Kevan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=460996

Bug ID: 460996
Summary: qmlkonsole keyboard button doesn't hide the keyboard
Classification: I don't know
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: baker.keva...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
On Plasma Mobile, qmlkonsole does not seem to hide the keyboard when pressing
the keyboard button. Instead, it seems as though the keyboard is killed, and
immediately respawned.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open qmlkonsole
2. Open virtual-keyboard inside of qmlkonsole
3. Try to close the virtual keyboard using the keyboard button on the bottom
toolbar, (not using the v arrow on the navigation bar)

OBSERVED RESULT
The keyboard blinks, as though being killed/respawned perhaps. Ultimately, it
is not hidden

EXPECTED RESULT
The keyboard is toggled away. Pressing the button again once the keyboard is
gone would bring it back. Pressing the button while the keyboard is visible
would make it hidden
