[Falkon] [Bug 460997] New: Highlight downloaded file in file manager using D-Bus org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowItems
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=460997 Bug ID: 460997 Summary: Highlight downloaded file in file manager using D-Bus org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowItems Classification: Applications Product: Falkon Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: FreeBSD Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: now...@gmail.com Reporter: prob...@puredarwin.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When double-clicking on a downloaded file in the Downloads window, the file manager should open the window that contains the file and highlight the file. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Download a file 2. From the Downloads window, double-click the downloaded file OBSERVED RESULT Currently it only opens the folder without highlighting the file. EXPECTED RESULT When double-clicking on a downloaded file in the Downloads window, the file manager should open the window that contains the file and highlight the file. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Falkon 3.2.0 package on FreeBSD 13.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION To achieve this, D-Bus org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowItems can be used. Example: % dbus-send --session \ --print-reply \ --dest=org.freedesktop.FileManager1 \ /org/freedesktop/FileManager1 \ org.freedesktop.FileManager1.ShowItems \ array:string:"file:/etc/os-release" string:"" This should open the file manager at /etc and highlight the os-release file. Of course this can be done in Qt rather than using the dbus-send command line tool; the above is just an example to illustrate the concept. If D-Bus is not available or the call fails, then Falkon could always fall back to the current method of opening the folder. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Your system could be in an unstable state A recovery will run now (dpkg --configure -a) and The upgrade has completed but there were errors during the upgrade process followed by a fair amount of detail that included the line: gpg: invalid key resource URL: /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/home:pzz.gpg I see this info in: /var/log/apt/term.log This was a system where I had previously installed a test version of 'sane airscan'. Subsequently offline updates gave a failure as reported (the post-installation script, exit status 1, failure) I did have a file: /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/home:pzz.gpg I think dating from that test version of sane. I rolled back, moved the file out the way, reran the upgrade and all was OK. It may be that just moving the file out the way after the upgrade is sufficient. Because of this part of the interface of the programas get's hidden outside of the screen.. You have to manually create a rule to force a lower minimal size, but on Wayland these rules simple don't work. And while I'm at it, the little "windows/popups" from the widgets on the notification panel could also be allowed to be resized to a smaller size, I think they're too big. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Note that I have worked around this bug in Blender, see: - To reproduce this bug, use a Blender build without the workaround, SHA1 `c4f9e4afab8c51e271fc6a313ccd2dd0b8d3186c` (using Blender's source with `make lite` is sufficient, or I can provide a build from our build-server if that's preferable). - The issue has been worked around in `78b13ab3db70cca977585e29407445d2d1502fbf` (https://developer.blender.org/rB78b13ab3db70cca977585e29407445d2d1502fbf), which might give a hint to how this can be fixed. **Exact steps for others to reproduce the error** 1. Load up default cube scene `blender --factory-startup` 2. Switch to the "Rotate tool" (on the left hand tool bar, 4th tool down from the top) 3. [kwin] [Bug 461002] New: "Invert Window Colours" effect cancelled by "Wobbly Windows" effect when window is moved or resized in Plasma 5.26.1
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=461002 Bug ID: 461002 Summary: "Invert Window Colours" effect cancelled by "Wobbly Windows" effect when window is moved or resized in Plasma 5.26.1 Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.26.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: effects-various Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: a.skemb...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY After updating to Plasma 5.26.1 from 5.25.5, when a window's colours are inverted via KWin's "Invert Window Colours" or the "Invert Effect" (please note, this is *different* from the "Invert Screen Colours" effect), the window colours temporarily revert to the normal ones when the window is moved or resized. This happens only if the "Wobbly Windows" effect is activated. This did not happen in 5.25.5 (the window was wobbly without the colours reverting to normal). As you may imagine, this is quite distracting and unpleasant, as there are colours flashing about every time an inverted window is moved. Disabling the "Wobbly Windows" effect seems to fix the issue, so I guess there is something amiss when the two effects are combined. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Invert a window's colour's via an appropriate KWin shortcut OR use the "Invert Effect" (but not the "Invert Screen Colours" effect) 2. Ensure "Wobbly Windows" effect is activated. 3. Move (either by dragging the toolbar or via the "move" modifier key) or resize the window. OBSERVED RESULT Window colours revert to normal while the move / resize operation is taking place. The window returns to its reverted mode once the move / resize operation is complete (e.g. mouse button has been released) EXPECTED RESULT Window colours should remain inverted during the move / resize operation. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.61.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99 Qt Version: 5.15.6 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The "Invert Screen Colours" effect mentioned above (which is different to the "Toggle invert effect"), which also inverts the whole screen, does not seem to trigger the bug. If I recall correctly, Nate Graham mentioned at another instance that one of the effects is built-in, while the other is a "desktop effects" version (not sure which is which, though). Also, moving the window via the "Meta+arrow key" route does not seem to trigger the effect either (the inverted window is moved without any colour change triggered. It is also not triggered during the "maximise" animation that happens when "Meta+PgUp" is used to maximise the window. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Check that the "Automatic Location for Night Color" service is running and set to autoload, in System Settings > Background Services. **NOTE:** The Background Services KCM does not auto-reload changes to service status. You need to close and open the KCM for it to pick up on those. ## Case 2: Already not on automatic location 1. Change the mode to something other than automatic *before* installing any of the changes in this MR. Ensure ~/.config/kded5rc does not have a `[Module-colorcorrectlocationupdater]` group. 2. Build and install MR. 3. Restart system. 4. Check that the "Automatic Location for Night Color" service is *not* running and autoload is *disabled*, in System Settings > Background Services. **NOTE:** If you've already tested Case 1: enabling autoload of the service from System Settings > Background Services, then installing the old versions of libcolorcorrect (colorcorrectlocationupdater) and the Night Color KCM, then restarting, should give you a system which is in the "before installing this MR" state. ## Case 3: Switching back and forth 1. Build and install MR. 2. In System Settings > Night Color, change between Automatic and non-Automatic modes and apply. 3. Check that the "Automatic Location for Night Color" service is correctly running/not-running and autoload is enabled/disabled, in System Settings > Background Services. 4. Repeat for back-and-forth. Try to close the virtual keyboard using the keyboard button on the bottom toolbar, (not using the v arrow on the navigation bar) OBSERVED RESULT The keyboard blinks, as though being killed/respawned perhaps. Ultimately, it is not hidden EXPECTED RESULT The keyboard is toggled away. Pressing the button again once the keyboard is gone would bring it back.
