can confirm this issue for myself as well, specifically for kdeconnect

this issue was there once in the past, where the checkmark on the screen share
dialog didnt do anything, but it got fixed at some point, so that i could
seamlessly connect with kdeconnect without confirming it

i think the issue appeared again starting with the big plasma 6 update

[kwin] [Bug 485742] New: HDR Colors Incorrect in Comparison to DRM Gamescope Session

2024-04-18 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485742

Bug ID: 485742
Summary: HDR Colors Incorrect in Comparison to DRM Gamescope
Session
Classification: Plasma
   Product: kwin
   Version: 6.0.4
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: core
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: abhi...@praveen.org.uk
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 168649
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=168649=edit
EDID Dump of the FO32U2P

SUMMARY
HDR Colors using a nested Gamescope session in games under KDE Plasma look
clearly incorrect. I tested at least the following games:
Plague Tale Requiem
FF7 Remake
God of War

In each, I was able to explicitly enable HDR but there were clear issues with
the color. In God of War, reds looked halfway in between red and orange. Blues
in FF7 Remake were closer to a turqoise and Plague Tale Requiem looked as if a
fog was covering the screen. In comparison, running God of War in a DRM
(Embedded) Gamescope Session did not produce these issues. I think that this
indicates that this is a KDE Plasma Bug because HDR seems to be working under a
different compositor (gamescope).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. A HDR monitor, I guess?
2. Start steam
3. Start one of the games listed above under steam with DXVK_HDR=1 and under
gamescope -W 3840 -w 3840 -H 2160 -h 2160 -f -r 165 --hdr-enabled

Also, I have tried many permutations of enabling different HDR layers and
setting different gamescope arguments and nothing seems to solve this issue.
Let me know if there is a specifc setup that I should test.

OBSERVED RESULT
As described above, significant color distortion.

EXPECTED RESULT
Good color output.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: 6.8.7
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0? I have some 5.115.0 packages too though
Qt Version: qtbase is at 6.7.0
Mesa: 24.0.5
Monitor: Aorus FO32U2P (one other monitor is plugged in but not HDR capable)
over DisplayPort 2.1 at 165hz

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For comparison, the gamescope arguments I used for the DRM session were:
ENABLE_GAMESCOPE_WSI=1 gamescope -W 3840 -H 2160 -r 165 -O DP-1 --hdr-enabled

And, in this case I just set DXVK_HDR=1 in the launch arguments for the game
and nothing else (that is relevant).

Pure black icon looks completely out of place. Maybe black outline would solve

[okular] [Bug 485747] New: PDF signature dialog should preselect (only) certificate

2024-04-18 Thread Frank Siegert

Classification: Applications
   Product: okular
   Version: 24.02.2
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux

SUMMARY
When signing a PDF document with Okular, and even with only one certificate
being available, no certificate is preselected. This leads to unnecessary work,
but more importantly, it leads to a spurious error message if the user does not
notice this being inactive: "Enter certificate password" (even if there is no
password for the certificate).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open PDF in Okular
2. Tools - Digitally Sign
3. Choose a position and click.

OBSERVED RESULT
The first field (Select certificate to sign with) is inactive, even despite
looking active in my Qt style.

EXPECTED RESULT
The first field should have a certificate selected by default, at least if
there is only one certificate.

[kde] [Bug 485753] New: Brightness up/down keys' steps could be smaller in low value range

2024-04-18 Thread Sin Jeong-hun
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485753

Bug ID: 485753
Summary: Brightness up/down keys' steps could be smaller in low
value range
Classification: I don't know
   Product: kde
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: typing...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

In Plasma Desktop 6.0, pressing the brightness key changes the brightness level
by 5% each. The problem is that in a dark environment, when the monitor's
brightness is very low, 5% is too big of a step. In the low brightness range,
even 1% change makes a noticeable difference. That is, something like 0% is too
dark but 5% is a bit too bright. I can use the mouse, click the brightness icon
on the system notification, and drag the slider to set values like 3%, but
pressing the keys is more convenient.

So, I wonder what if pressing the brightness keys changes the value by 1%, if
the current monitor brightness is below 5% or 1-digit.

Looks good on both x86_64 and s390x (both fedora 39).
On s390x the ppno.vgtest succeeds.
x86_64 had zero failures.
s390x had one failure (also before you patch): drd/tests/tc04_free_lock
(stderr)

I did push two small fixups:

commit 02bca4fa3a62dafbc8f051a0f766f9d5763f6e1c
Author: Mark Wielaard
Date: Thu Apr 18 15:58:37 2024 +0200

Add pub_core_extension.h to coregrind/Makefile.am noinst_HEADERS

commit 381e2a25fbf8e7d16d66851a5d0e1f919cf69505 (HEAD -> master)
Author: Mark Wielaard
Date: Thu Apr 18 17:45:16 2024 +0200

Don't include pub_tool_tooliface.h in priv_types_n_macros.h

post-regtest-checks complains:
*** File coregrind/m_extension/priv_types_n_macros.h must not include
pub_tool_tooliface.h

Which isn't really necessary anyway since priv_types_n_macros.h
already includes pub_core_tooliface.h.

Furthermore, no Qt MySQL driver seems to be included.

Akonadi Version is: 24.02.2-1 on ArchLinux

For clarification: The entries were there before.
I also tried several methods, including "refreshing" the source in the options
menu etc.
Nothing worked, until I removed and re-added the calendar source.

I see that you are using Qt6ct. Do not use Qt5ct or Qt6ct with Plasma or else
various settings and integration systems will not work. This is because
Qt5ct/Qt6ct replaces Plasma's Qt platform plugin with its own. Qt6ct may or may
not be the cause, but try disabling it and set the color scheme using System
Settings instead.

Kvantum does not work with Qt Quick apps very well. If your theming system sets
QPalette colors properly, there should be no issue with at least matching the
theme's colors. If the theme or theming system does not set QPalette colors
properly, then you're stuck with whatever the default colors used for the
system QPalette are.

I'm still a bit curious about the issue though. Can you post a screenshot? How
did you configure your theme?

  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tool/Text
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: j...@moeller.io
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
0. Be in dark mode
1. Open an image file in Krita

Hey there. I think that this issue has been fixed!

If you can, please test again using the "Krita Next" nightly version from
http://krita.org (or by building Krita's "master" branch from source.)

If "Krita Next" works correctly, then you can expect to see the fix included
with the next stable version release of Krita. However, if you're still having
this issue in Krita Next or with Krita's master branch, please feel free to
reopen this bug report and we can continue to investigate.

Thank you,
Emmet.

Bug ID: 485769

Classification: Applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 6.0.4
  Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

Created attachment 168658
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=168658=edit
State of SDDM screen once existing settings have been manually filled in (Apply
now greyed out)

SUMMARY

The "Login Screen (SSDM)" settings for autologin don't seem to be read into the
UI correctly.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to "Login Screen (SSDM)" and select "Behavior"
2. Configure "Automatically log in" by ticking the box "as user" and selecting
a user. Choose either session (I used Wayland).
3. Apply
4. Go back to SSDM theme settings. The "Apply" button appears to show there are
changes to apply.
5. Check /etc/sddm.conf.d/kde_settings.conf - they should contain the correct
values in the [Autologin] section now
6. Go to "Behavior" again. The "Automatically log in" settings are disabled
again. The Apply button is still showing there's changes to apply.
7. Manually restore the exact settings as before: The Apply button is now
greyed out. It has recognised these are the settings already in the file.
8. Move back to themes and select "Apply". The kde_settings.conf has removed
the autologin configuration.

OBSERVED RESULT

Settings UI does not correctly load autologin settings from kde_settings.conf.
Upon changing the values, it realises those are already set. When changing any
other settings, it will rewrite the file, but without the correct autologin
configuration. If autologin is configured in the settings file and no further
settings are applied then autologin works.

EXPECTED RESULT

The settings UI correctly reads and displays the autologin settings when
opening the UI.

(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I am also having issues changing the background image, but I haven't dug into
that yet and I'm not sure if they are related.

[dolphin] [Bug 485630] Dolphin crashes when dragging png file to a FF window

2024-04-18 Thread Michał Dybczak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485630

Diliam, I agree, that crashing is a duplicate of 471279 .

The second one 483645 also covers part of the issue I experience on a daily
basis.

My guess is, there is no need for my report to exists if earlier reports are
there. Probably, the "3) drag-drop sometimes (sporadically) disables until
Dolphin is restarted" is either something new, or a duplicate of some other
bug. However, it started happening only recently and not so frequently (yet),
so it deserves a separate, clear, focused report, so let's forget it here.

Reports must be focused on one bug only and the crash is already covered, along
with other complaints.

Since I am just a user, I ask moderators here to mark my report as a duplicate
of those two posts and follow the issues there.
Thank you

I wonder if it is a focus issue. After I click on the image to enlarge, escape
does nothing, but if I click on the image to enlarge, and then select either
the previous or next image buttons on the left or right side, then escape does
close the second image.

Git commit e19222a86627c8ba5678e3d0c505a59bbe810212 by Noah Davis.
Committed on 18/04/2024 at 22:31.
Pushed by ndavis into branch 'master'.

Add blur/pixelate strength settings and slider for adjusting them

The strength values are floating point numbers that go from 0 to 1, like
percents.
I chose to make them like percents instead of a scale factor for the pixelate
effect
and a standard deviation (sigma) for the blur effect for the following reasons:

- Making the settings match the internal values used would make them too
dependent on the implementation.
- It would be hard to explain how the values work to users.
- It would be harder to represent the settings in the UI in a reusable way.

I chose a slider instead of a spinbox for the following reasons:

- 0% in a spinbox would imply no effect, but no effect would be useless.
- The minimum position of a slider only implies the minimum value, making it
more semantically flexible.
- The exact values aren't very meaningful, so there's no need to type an exact
percent.
- Sliders are a bit easier to interact with than spinboxes.
- There was plenty of space.

QML <=> MPV integration is broken. Downgrading to MPV 0.37 fixes the bug.

Author: Alexandra Hájková
Date: Thu Apr 18 05:21:49 2024 -0400

Improve file descriptor xml output, add fd and path elements

Add needs_xml_output to none tool so it can also output xml when
--track-fds enabled.

Use xml protocolversion 5 when clo_track_fds is enabled

Split OpenFD pathname and description. Add description when a file
descriptor is closed so it can be used in a future error. On error
print element and (if known) a element.

Add docs/internals/xml-output-protocol5.txt.

Thank you,
Emmet.

Classification: Applications

   Version: 6.0.2
  Platform: Arch Linux

***

SUMMARY

After importing .ics as a separate calendar, events aren't shown until
explicitly updating the folder.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Import .ics file.
2. Choose "Add as new calendar".
3. Right-click newly added calendar and choose "Update Folder" or "Update
Calendar".

OBSERVED RESULT
Events aren't showing up after new calendar is added (step 2.). But they do
show up after updating the calendar.

EXPECTED RESULT
New events should show up immediately after new calendar is created.

Hey again Dynline, I want to let you know that I'm confirming this issue but
reclassifying it as a wishlist item since it seems to be less of a bug and more
of a potential usability improvement.
