If you have a currently open project, it can be closed by File -> Close Project. KMyMoney also has "File -> Close" which is good. 2. When clicking File -> Open..., you are presented with a file/folder open dialog "Open File or Project". If you choose a folder, then it assumes you want to open another project so it asks you to choose one of the options, see screenshot. Until you answer affirmatively here, the current project is not closed. When the .po already exists, I think it should open the existing .po file and may be display a messagebox saying something like "Translation catalog %1 for the template %2 already exists. Lokalize opened the existing catalog for you.If you wanted to create an empty catalog using the template, delete the existing catalog and try again.".
