Attached version is 1.68.0alpha3 which is a little old and buggy too. Outside
is beta version and I think in area 51 too but I don't know which version of
KDE should be installed: 4.35 or wait for version 4.5 or better to install
Nero for Linux?

4.3.2 is VERY bugy. As I heard from Linux users (I'll be one of them soon) is
4.4 much better. And if we waited THREE months for 4.4 FreeBSD users could
wait three months more for version 5 or whatever will be this time. It is just
mine opinion about developing KDE 4 in FreeBSD.

I updated kdebase4 first and than try kdebase4-runtime. I did this after I

I don't know why is polluted but uninstall qt33 and now is "make reinstall"

Looks like that is still something wrong. I deinstall and reinstall qt 3 and I
have at 45% the same error again.

Yesterday I updated to KDE 4.5.1 and it is not the same as before. Settings

for settings (I didn't find), some screensavers works some not...(it is not
important to me but...).

Any suggestions for settings system sound, please?

Thanks.

You wrote "freedom". If KDE, GNOME, Hfce decided to write a desktop for Linux
is this a FREE decission of the develpers.

It is mine opinion.

I installed KDE 4.7.3 which works but when I build it I got a "failed" when I

Thank you very much. It works :).

I am pleased with FreeBSD 9.0 and very thankful to mainteiners of KDE 4 which
in global works (games were "problem" because grandchildren were here :) ).
What bother me is (which I didn't have before) and I found yesterday when I
installed krecipes and than "make deinstalled" I got:
/usr/local/kde4/share is not in the search path of XDG_DATA_STORAGE and
XDG_DATA_DIRS.
and I think there were local search ~/home and /root

The same I got when I reinstalled kdegames4.
And the other is which looks like is a bug but I didn't have problem before
created /.config (in the root file system).

Thank you very much.

Again...

Is it correct that I put in my user .xinitrc:

export PATH

startkde

and than I start with startx.

I did put CC=clang
  CXX=clang++
  CPP=clang-cpp

and make but it still use gcc46. I did as you wrote and it is the same result.
I didn't have anything in /etc/make.conf about gcc.

clang and it works.

[kde-freebsd] calligra

2012-06-01 Thread ajtiM
First, thank you for Calligra 2.4.2. It works excellent and Krita is much much
faster than before in KOffice.

And the second I did try to build Calligra with clang on FreeBSD 9.0 Release
but it didn't work. I don't have any logs. I was not at home and when I came
home I just remove clang from make.conf and it works without problems. And I
have Clang 3.0.

Thanks.

I did what I red in /usr/ports/UPDATING
and I am using the old kmail still:

kdepim4 has been updated to 4.8.3. For those who prefer old
kdepim-4.4.11.1 deskutils/kdepim44* ports have been added.
To stay with kdepim-4.4.11.1 run the following commands:

  # portmaster -o deskutils/kdepim44-runtime kdepim-runtime-4\*
  # portmaster -o deskutils/kdepim44 kdepim-4\*

BTW: I am thinking to start using Thunderbird.

[kde-freebsd] KMail or

2012-06-23 Thread ajtiM
Hi!

I am using KMail 1.13.7 on KDE 4.8.4 but there are same problems which started
with KDE 4 and some more. The first one which is from KDE 4:
In "Local Folders" I have many other folders for people and FreeBSD mailings
list, POP filters which work but if I got an email from someone which I don't
have a filter than KMail looks like searching and searching and it is unusable
to read emails fro example about half a minute or more and if I have more
emails like this...it is annoying.
The new one is after update the last akonadi: when I click for example on
Inbox folder (or any other one) I need to wait 5 or more seconds to open it.

I like to switch to another email client. Doe anyone have experience with
GNOME Evolution under KDE, please? Or is better to install Thunderbird?
After that it is safe to uninstalled kdepim44 and and kdepin44-runtime and
kdepimlibs 4.8?

Thanks in advance.

[kde-freebsd] logout

2012-08-14 Thread ajtiM
Hi!

My system:
FreeBSD 9.0-RELEASE-p4
KDE 4.8.4

I have a "problem" long time, maybe from KDE 4.4..I forgot. When I logout from
KDE I never go in prompt. Every time I need to press Enter. And top shows me
nepomuk and gam_server. If I don't kill nepomuk nextime after restart KDE and
logout to show me two 'nepomuks" and more and more...
Doe anyone has the same, please. Which settings should I look for?

Thanks in advance.

FreeBSD has default clang 3.0, llvm 3.0 which was last time update to 3.1.
LLVM has options:
ASSERTS
DOCS which is built with and
LTOPLUGIN

What I were doing before Krita crashed? Nothing. I just to try open Krita and
it crashed.
I don't know if is helpful but I use Gimp, Inkskape without problem.
LibreOffice
3.5 (all programs) works without problem.
KDE version is 4.8.4 and I don't have problem but wherever I start KDE there
are 3 zombies which hone when I close KDE:
72348 ?? Z0:00.01
72349 ?? Z0:00.01
72350 ?? Z0:00.01

I will try to build Calligra again...

I rebuilt Calligra and when I started Krita I got the same errors. I ran Krita
from promt and I got:

> /usr/local/kde4/bin/krita
krita(75563)/kdecore (KLibrary) kde4Factory: The library
"/usr/local/kde4/lib/kde4/stateshape.so" does not offer a qt_plugin_instance
function.

And I rebuilt LLVM.

Thanks.
