Here is one more:

I maximized the KDEPIM.
Ctrl + N for the new message.
Inserted a contact name.
Wrote a small message.
Attached a pdf file.
ctl+ ent, to send.
Went into file menu.
Chose the option "send the qued messages via" and ctrl+L.
It crashed.

There were two mails id's configured to send the mails through the pop/imap
accounts.

Other applications open were Firefox. Open office.

Yes, I'm seeing this problem as well, I fixed it by turning off the spam
filter.

It would be a lot better if the spam filter rules were only applied to new
messages that hadn't already been filtered.

I have found out that it is not the @ character that produces the error, but
the servername which has numbers in it (1und1.de). If I use the ip instead it
works.

The problem of blank lines being removed is already fixed in r856724.
Cleaner HTML output is in the process and will hopefully make it into 4.2.

[Bug 174192] New: Unable to send messages to smtp server with authentification if login has @ (at) character

2008-11-03 Thread geroxp
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=174192

Summary: Unable to send messages to smtp server with
authentification if login has @ (at) character
   Product: kio
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: smtp
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Version: Unbekannt (using 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: gcc
OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-21-rt

Steps to reproduce:

1. Configure a smtp server for outgoing messages which requires
authentification (in kmail)
2. Use you e-mail-address as a login name for smtp authentification (it does
not matter if this account or login name really exists)
3. try to send a mail with kmail using this outgoing smtp account

Result:
Error sending mail:
smtp://john%40example.com:[EMAIL
PROTECTED]:25/send?headers=0&from=john%40example.com&to=marta%40example.com&size=2413

Further investigation of the problem with tcpdump and lsof revealed that
kio/smtp does not even try to connect to the server. It seems that the @
character prohibits it from trying. Other smtp accounts without @ characters in
login names work well.

crashes. Occurs on each execution - within about a minute.

Similar problem here Debian Sid AMD64 with Kmail 1.10.1 under KDE 4.1.2. I
followed the provided step-by-step instructions, but the resulted sort is not
name, date but something different (and very strange).
