[Bug 284310] mail loss (content) when filtering emails not in cache

Interestingly enough, your email is probably not gone at all. I see one email with kmail2 in my sent-mail dated 25 November. If I ssh into the server and look at the folder with Mutt, I see 5 emails dated 25 November. F5 and all trials to trigger synchronization doesn't create any activity. Even with Akonadiconsole, it doesn't synchronize at all as it believes to be up to date. So try to look at your imap-folder with mutt and see if the emails are really lost. I think this is a serious issue as people believe they have lost email and they haven't. There should be a hard synchronization from scratch possible if triggered by the user to update all the metadata. This isn't the case today. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 288338] New: Kmail breaks on .ics file attachments if no calendar resource is available.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288338 Summary: Kmail breaks on .ics file attachments if no calendar resource is available. Product: kmail2 Version: 4.7 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: p...@muddygoat.org Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3) OS:Linux If there is no calendar resource available (i.e. you have not created one yet), then receiving an email with a .ics (an ical file) attachment causes problems for kmail. I have the preview pane enabled, and the message does not display in it. I just get the blue screen telling me that it is trying to load the folder. Selecting any other message leads to the same behaviour and no messages can be viewed until kmail is restarted. This is not an akonadi problem, just one triggered by trying to display ical attachments inline, I believe, when there is no calendar resource. Thanks. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) Remove all calendar resources. 2) Ensure the preview pane is enabled in kmail. 3) Select an email in kmail with a .ics attachment. 4) Try to view any message. Actual Results: No messages can be viewed. [Bug 288340] New: Kolab address book disappears
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288340 Summary: Kolab address book disappears Product: kaddressbook Version: unspecified Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: mays...@web.de CC: to...@kde.org Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.3) OS:Linux Since a few versions of kontact/kaddressbook (probably since akonadi integration) I've got the problem, that my kolab based address book disappears from time to time. I've created some folder for my addresses in kmail and marked its content as contacts. The folder is not located in its default position because my mail account do not allow me to create folders in the toplevel. Everything is located in an INBOX folder. After setting up the folder everything works fine, but the folder is not visible in kmail anymore. This was possible in older versions. But after some time, I don't not know any reason or circumstances, the addressbook is gone and the folder is still not visible in kmail. As workaround I've figured out, that I can use the akonadiconsole to delete the HIDDEN attribute of the folder and then set it up as contact folder in kmail again. This works but is really annoying. Probably no one can give me a solution for this problem because of missing details. But perhaps someone can give me a hint where to look for further information. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: Add a kolab address book Actual Results: Addressbook is not visible in kaddressbook and folder is not visible kmail Expected Results: kaddressbook shows addressbook -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 287871] Accessing remote iCal in akonadi crashes plasma-desktop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=287871 --- Comment #4 from Jari Laamanen 2011-12-06 22:21:28 --- Plasma-desktop does not crash if the "Digital Clock" plasma widget is removed from the desktop panel. However, the ical resource does not work correctly even then. Mysqld, akonadiserver, virtuoso-t, akonadi_nepomuk, nepomukservices and kontact use all the cpu power until "/usr/bin/akonadi_agent_launcher akonadi_ical_resource" process has been killed a few times, after which the kontact gives up on updating the ical file. In kontact the new ical resource flickers until the akonadi_ical_resource processes have been killed. After that the new ical resource sits in korganizer unticked, but can be ticked (selected) and the entries can be read from the calendar. The next akonadi restart begins the power-hungry endless loop. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 288364] New: "Retrieving Folder Contents" hanging without showing content
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288364 Summary: "Retrieving Folder Contents" hanging without showing content Product: kmail2 Version: 4.7 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: message list AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: art...@gmail.com Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3) OS:Linux Instead of showing the content of a message, it shows "Retrieving Folder Contents" screen forever. Starting the program from terminal it shows "kontact(5365) MessageList::Core::ModelPrivate::findMessageParent: Circular reference loop detected in the message tree". Only some few old emails are shown correctly after a while and not always. Mails are apparently fetched correctly (via POP3), but set filters are not applied properly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: It started one day after launching the program, and then always (except once). Just open a message folder. Actual Results: What described above. [Bug 288368] New: KMail conflict dialog hard to read (different column widths)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288368 Summary: KMail conflict dialog hard to read (different column widths) Product: kmail2 Version: unspecified Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: UI AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: kde-b...@cboltz.de Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.2) OS:Linux (initially reported as https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=734595 ) The KMail 2 conflict dialog (when KMail detects that it has possibly stored 2 copies of a mail (or something like that) and asks which one to keep) is very hard to read. The reason is that the columns showing the two mails have a different width (see screenshot at https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=465660 ), which means you can't directly visually compare both mails. I'd propose the following changes: 1. easy to do and very useful: give both columns the same width 2. also easy: increase the default window size of the conflict dialog 3. harder: additionally implement highlighting of the differences - maybe you can reuse kdiff3 for that?
