--- Comment #11 from Thomas Olsen tho...@tanghus.net ---
As Jan says in comment #9 it looks very much like the issue we have in
ownCloud. I run KDE SC 4.8.3 but with KDEPIM 4.8.2 and I don't have any
problems. Most (all?) of the reporters on
http://bugs.owncloud.org/thebuggenie/owncloud/issues/oc-831 use KDEPIM 4.8.3.

[Bug 300047] CardDav not syncing, no errors, while CalDav is ok for the same resource

2012-06-05 Thread Thomas Olsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300047

--- Comment #12 from Thomas Olsen tho...@tanghus.net ---
(In reply to comment #10)
Does OC work around broken clients? It seems that the Akonadi DAV resource
does not include the filter and limit properties in its requests. (See
 #300915)

OC uses SabreDAV - https://code.google.com/p/sabredav/ - as backend, AFAIK
without any modifications.

[Bug 300869] New: Addressbook messaging entries doesn't follow the RFC

2012-05-30 Thread Thomas Olsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=300869

Bug ID: 300869
  Severity: normal
   Version: unspecified
  Priority: NOR
CC: to...@kde.org
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: Addressbook messaging entries doesn't follow the RFC
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: tho...@tanghus.net
  Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: general
   Product: kaddressbook

When you enter a messaging protocol through the popup (btw: I would have never
found out how to change protocol if someone hadn't told me) it writes an entry
in the form:

X-MESSAGING/SKYPE-ALL:somehandle

This violates the RFC [1] because slashes are not allowed:

   x-name = X- 1*(ALPHA / DIGIT / -)
; Reserved for non-standard use

I discovered this because of a bug report for ownCloud where some vcards failed
to import. So at least SabreDAV which is used by ownCloud cannot parse vcards
with IM entries created by KAddressbook.

[1] https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc2426#section-4
[2] https://code.google.com/p/sabredav/

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a contact in KAddressbook and add an IM address.
2. Export to vcf.
3. Import to ownCloud.
Actual Results:
The import fails with the error line N did not follow the icalendar/vcard
format.

Expected Results:
The import shouldn't fail because of malformed vcard.

KDE 4.8.3
KDE-PIM 4.8.2
Kubuntu 11.10
ownCloud 4.0

[Bug 252070] kontact crashed when deleting contact tags

2012-05-18 Thread Thomas Olsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=252070

--- Comment #8 from Thomas Olsen tho...@tanghus.net ---
I just tried the same under KDE 4.8.3, KDEPIM 4.8.2 and Qt 4.8.1 with no
problems and I could see in my ownCloud that it actually removed the category
;-)

Looking at your bt it looks like a Qt crash, so maybe this issue should be
filed upstream?

And an additional 'confirmed' here with Kleopatra 2.1.1 on KDE 4.8.2. I can't
send any signed messages either, as the composer window just stays disabled
until I choose to close it. This may be a different error though.

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

It happens *very* often, when I either select a mail or delete one so a new
mail is selected, that I get this crash.
This morning I went through around 100 mails and I had around 10 crashes.
The reports I've marked as possible dupes have very similar backtraces, but not
exactly so I chose to create a new report.

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.

I confirm this bug on Kubuntu 11.10 w backports ppa and on Kubuntu 12.40
 Beta, both using KDE 4.8.1

I can also confirm it using Kubuntu 11.10 w backports ppa and an ownCloud DAV
resource.

I also have crashes where the debug packages for soprano couldn't be found. On
Kubuntu the package was called libsoprano-dbg. Dunno if it's the same for SuSE.

I MAY have been fixed in KDE SC 4.8. My mail provider semi-often cuts the IMAP
connection, but I don't think I've seen the sudden flood of notifications for a
while.

I've just had several that slipped through a CC filter:

[17:56:53] Evaluating filter rules: (match all of the following) List-Post

I have now changed the filter to 'all' instead of any to see what happens.

For me an IMAP account from a Courier server. Some messages do get filtered,

I believe Sascha has both POP and IMAP.

kontact (4.7.4) on KDE Platform 4.7.4 (4.7.4) using Qt 4.7.4

- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I was attempting to delete empty tags from the Contact editor.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Empty tags keeps being created both in KMail and the Contact part (KABC?).
ToDos (and Calendar?) seems to behave alright.

- Custom settings of the application:
I use Cal-/CardDAV resources with ownCloud as backend. Before that I used
Memotoo.com with traditional resources and had the same problem.

[Bug 288869] New: If backend is unavailable local cache is hosed

2011-12-12 Thread Thomas Olsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288869

Summary: If backend is unavailable local cache is hosed
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.7
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tho...@tanghus.net

I have a CalDAV and a CardDAV resource which both points to a remote ownCloud
instance. If the server doesn't respond for a while I set the resources to
offline to avoid annoying notifications.
If Akonadi is restarted the local cache is trashed and the resources wont sync
when I set them to online again. The only solution afaik is to delete the
resources and add them again.

Regarding the version asked for when adding this bug I presumed it was the KDE
version. I don't know how to query the version of the resources, but akonadictl
reports 'Akonadi 1.6.2'. I'm on KDE 4.7.3.

There are still some 'missing links' as auto completion doesn't work in KMail
and it's not possible to set which resources should be used for
Events(Journals/ToDos.

How come KDE Resources has been deprecated?

  Events(Journals/ToDos.

You can set the default calendar in korganizer.
How come KDE Resources has been deprecated?
 Has been replaced by akonadi

OK, name confusion detected ;-) I didn't mean the Traditional KDE resources, I
meant the UI where you could configure which (Akonadi) resource to use as
default.
I have my ownCloud resource as default calendar, but I used to be able to set a
default for eg. Journals. It was handy as I have my ToDo to be written as a
Journal entry upon completion, but I have my Journal in a different Akonadi
resource.

Likewise not being able to set a default Address book means auto completion
doesn't work.

I can confirm this, but it seems that they (Diaspora*) are working on the
notification emails now.
It had been disabled for a day but now they are coming again and without the
double as in:

from: XX (Diaspora*) DIASPORA* no-re...@joindiaspora.com

Now they have the correct format:

from: no-re...@joindiaspora.com no-re...@joindiaspora.com

Sorry to have to reopen this.

The on so on part of the information needed I wasn't sure what was about ;)
I've had (at least) one more of these crashes, where I didn't have the time to
report it.

When I reported it the first time I only had one IMAP account - the Gmail one -
so my guess is it's the one that it crashed on. On that account I have set up
time based expires on several folders (mailing lists). Could that be a reason.

Same use case a bit more simple:

Select a folder.
KMail2 jumps to selected message (A) as I have chosen in the settings
Select first unread message.
Move to trash by pressing DEL.

Actual results:
KMail2 jumps to A

Expected results:
jump to the next read/unread message but certainly not A

New crash information added by DrKonqi

plasma-desktop (0.4) on KDE Platform 4.7.00 (4.7.0) using Qt 4.7.2

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Same as last time - nothing ;-)
Sorry that I can't give any better feedback. I had Kontact running, the same
resources configured. I really don't know how to reproduce it. The intervals
can be 2 minutes or 2 weeks.
Now I will remove the CalDAV resources which I suppose is the reason for the
crash. Feel free to suggest any other way I can give better feedback.
I haven't done any C++ programming for 15 years, but isn't it possible to catch
an exception (or whatever it's called; I only do Python now) and fail a bit
more graceful?

--- Comment #3 from Thomas Olsen tanghus gmail com 2011-08-03 15:28:07 ---
(In reply to comment #2)
Have you found a way to replicate this issue? Were items removed on the server
before the crash? Have you deleted items locally?

Nothing should have happened serverside. I might have added event(s) to
KOrganizer which would then have been synced to memotoo.com via the traditional
Calendar in remote file resource. BTW: the two CalDAV resources where disabled
(not checked in KOrganizer) when the crashes occurred.

Apparently the dav resource is doing something wrong, but this is going a
little too far in Akonadi's internals to diagnose by just looking at a BT (at
least for me), so I'd like to replicate this to debug.

As it took a while (several logins/reboots) for the crash to appear it might
take a while to see if I can reproduce it.

I'll add the CalDAV resources one by one and wait to see what happens :-)

--- Comment #5 from Thomas Olsen tanghus gmail com 2011-06-26 10:05:35 ---
(In reply to comment #4)
I'm afraid I cannot say what too lock for, except that the issue is most
 likely
somewhere in Qt or in distribution specific patches.

OK. I filed a bug at launcpad:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+bug/802131

[Bug 276449] New: Kontact crashed when adding mail as ToDo item

2011-06-25 Thread Thomas Olsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=276449

Summary: Kontact crashed when adding mail as ToDo item
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tang...@gmail.com

Application: kontact (4.6.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.6.4 (4.6.4)
Qt Version: 4.7.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.38-10-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 11.04

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

While trying out KDE PIM 4.6 I tried to create a ToDo item from a mail. The
first time I tried the ToDo item disappeared. The second time I switch to the
ToDo view apparently while the item was being syncronized to my Memotoo.com
account (I guess). Crash.

I have exactly the same problem with the similar setup.
Please reopen or give better instructions on what to look for in Qt which btw
gives no other problems here.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

akonadi_imap_resource (0.1) on KDE Platform 4.6.4 (4.6.4) using Qt 4.7.2

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I had just installed KDEPIM 4.6 from
https://launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/+archive/experimental. When the KMail2
migration was finishing one of my accounts apparently replied with a wrong
credentials error and when I tried to edit the account the crash happened. This
happened twice.

[Bug 267797] Kmail doesn't connect to kwallet any more

(In reply to comment #9)
I presume this means that KMail now has a problem with writing passwords to
KWallet, and won't change the 'store-passwd' setting until it has, but that it
has no trouble reading from KWallet.

Same experience here in Kubuntu 11.04, KDE SC 4.6.4 KMail 1.13.6.

I have 2 IMAP accounts that works OK but when I added a new POP3 account KMail
can communicate with KWallet. I'll try your workaround and see if it works for
me.

[Bug 259468] Copy text from email adds HTML tags to clipboard

--- Comment #28 from Thomas Olsen tanghus gmail com 2011-03-05 00:57:47 ---
(In reply to comment #27)
I'm still seeing the bug in Kubuntu's 4.6.1 release. Does anyone else still
have issues in 4.6.1? If not, I guess I should take it up with them.

I'm guessing it wont get fixed until KDEPIM 4.6 is released and the devs are
doing their best to make the transition as seamless as can be (thinking back on
all the Akonadi trouble we've had earlier).

In the mean time use the selection clipboard (mark text, paste with MMB).

It's a PITA but I've rather have a _stable_ Akonadi based KDEPIM than having to
deal with unresolved Akonadi issues.

I hope my pidgin like English makes any sense :-)

[Bug 261593] Frequent plasma-desktop crashes [KCalCore::IncidenceBase::isReadOnly, CalendarSupport::Calendar::Private::dataChanged]

For some reason it almost works for me after I've deleted a couple of
activities. The only thing I can think of which could have caused it is the
Micro Blog Plasmoid which was on one of the activities. Now it only crashes on
login and I guess it's because of the Digital Clock Plasmoid.

[Bug 207124] Kontact process hangs after quitting

2011-01-12 Thread Thomas Olsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=207124

--- Comment #18 from Thomas Olsen tanghus gmail com 2011-01-12 11:33:54 ---
Whoa! Maybe not so fast ;-)

I've been wanting to update this bug report for a while but kept
procrastinating ;-)

If you have your calendar or contacts on a remote server (I use
http://www.memotoo.com ) Kontact syncs on close spawning off a KIO process
which can take up to a couple of minutes to complete. Until the KIO process has
finished the Kontact process is still alive, although idle. If you quit Kontact
and then log out before the syncing is complete it will be started by the SM on
next login but fail with an error saying something like Kontact seems to be
running in another process.

This is Kontact 4.4.9 on KDE SC 4.6 RC2 on Kubuntu 10.10.

[Bug 261593] Frequent plasma-desktop crashes [KCalCore::IncidenceBase::isReadOnly, CalendarSupport::Calendar::Private::dataChanged]

2011-01-10 Thread Thomas Olsen

--- Comment #8 from Thomas Olsen tanghus gmail com 2011-01-10 11:40:06 ---
Should this be moved to another product?
I looked at the code in
http://websvn.kde.org/branches/KDE/4.6/kdebase/workspace/plasma/generic/dataengines/calendar/akonadi/calendar.cpp?revision=1211754view=markup
but saw nothing obvious (mainly due to my very rusty C++ knowledge).

It looks like the crash is in KCalCore::IncidenceBase but I have no idea where
that lives in the svn tree.

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Same as last report. I had just logged in but this time just waited for the
crash.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:

Events aren't shown when hovering over the clock/calendar applet as they where
before upgrading to 4.6 RC1. My calendar is a classic KDE network resource
running agains www.memotoo.com.

Is there anything I can disble or otherwise do to try to limit this to a
specific component?

BTW: any typos is probably because I'm writing blidly becuase of font
corruption.

[Bug 261211] New: Akregator causes Kontact to crash

2010-12-25 Thread Thomas Olsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=261211

Summary: Akregator causes Kontact to crash
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tang...@gmail.com

Application: kontact (4.4.9)
KDE Platform Version: 4.5.90 (4.6 RC1)
Qt Version: 4.7.0
Operating System: Linux 2.6.35-24-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.10

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I had just started Kontact (which started with showing the Contacts even though
they were not the last part I used and they are non-functional because
akonadiserver reports protocol 27 but 28 is expected but that's another
bugreport to come ;)
I switched to Mail, then to Akregator to get it to load the feeds, then back to
Mail, and Crash...

15 minutes earlier I had to do a hard reboot because after upgrading to 4.6 RC1
the system suddenly think it should suspend/sleep but couldn't wake up the
monitor again. This could have resulted in file corruption in Akregators
metakit(?) backend? I've yet to test that.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

kontact (4.4.9) on KDE Platform 4.5.90 (4.6 RC1) using Qt 4.7.0

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Almost the same as before. Started Kontact (it started at Contacts again),
switched to Akregator: Crash

I'll attach some output from ~/.xsession-errors which looks useful.

I have renamed ~/.kde/share/apps/akregator/Archive and now it starts up fine. I
still have the original - corrupted - files, if they could be useful for
debugging?

If you see the two attachments above is this what you are referring to?
The HTML part contains a table with 100% width. The table should only use the
space available (like the header does) but instead it uses the length of the
longest sentence.

[Bug 244042] New: HTML mail with 100% table width too wide

2010-07-09 Thread Thomas Olsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=244042

Summary: HTML mail with 100% table width too wide
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.5
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: messageviewer
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: tang...@gmail.com

Created an attachment (id=48720)
 -- (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=48720)
Example mail

Version: 1.13.5
OS:Linux

HTML mails - e.g. from reviewboard.kde.org - that contains tables with
width=100% shows up with the width of the longest sentence instead of the width
of the message viewer (like the headers do).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
View a mail with a table where width=100% and a td tag containing a long
sentence.

Actual Results:
The message view is too wide with horizontal scroll bars.

Expected Results:
The message view should fit in the message viewer.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-24-generic
Compiler: cc
KMail: Version 1.13.5
KDE SC: 4.4.5 (not possible to select in dropdown)

--- Comment #9 from Thomas Olsen tanghus gmail com 2010-06-24 12:35:35 ---
I experience the same when viewing mails with inline images from an online IMAP
server. If I hit the 'v' key to view the source the image is loaded in the
mail. If I save the mail locally as an .mbox file and view is using KMail View
the images are loaded correctly.
I'll attach an example mail.

BTW: KMail 1.13.3

As the first issue has been resolved (KMail 1.12.4 and Summary v. 1.1) and
seeing Comment #3 I think this bug is resolved.

This thread:

http://lists.kde.org/?t=12596034493r=1w=2

suggests that it may have something to do with having month view selected in
KOrganizer when shutting down Kontact.
I tried Anne's suggestion and could confirm it. Others couldn't confirm it
though.

[Bug 216085] Kontact crashed when saving ToDo entry

2009-11-25 Thread Thomas Olsen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216085

--- Comment #2 from Thomas Olsen tanghus gmail com 2009-11-25 16:12:49 ---
Yes it does look like bug #209959.
I had another crash a while ago in another situation but didn't check the bt.
But I found out that I had a permission problem with GCalDaemon which I fixed
rather unsafely and now it says that I cannot edit the ToDo because it's locked
by another process. I guess it is a GCalDaemon problem? I'll try too
investigate.

Confirmed on KDE 4.3.3 with KMail v. 1.12.3. Kubuntu 9.10.
The splitter placement is forgotten when you go to another folder.
