Re: [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1583288] Re: Realtek Wifi card rtl8723be [10ec:b723] WiFi not available
Hi Podsgrove, I really understand what you mean. I told my friends too to buy HP because before it was always running smooth with all available Linux distros. But this is crazy. Two HP 455 Laptops with these stupid wifi adapters. As if there were not other adapter avail. I just hope this will change soon or I will to advice my friends to switch brand too. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1583288] Re: Realtek Wifi card rtl8723be [10ec:b723] WiFi not available
This apport was now generated under Linux Mint on a slightly different HP 455 Laptop. Here are the options: options rtl8723be fwlps=0 swlps=0 msi=1 in /etc/modprobe.d Without the msi=1 it did not work. Another HP laptop same Model (also HP 455 but diff look) wifi does not work with this option. Strange although it is the same wifi adapter. Hope this helps. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1583288] Re: Realtek Wifi card rtl8723be [10ec:b723] WiFi not available [SOLVED]
Hi Brad, I cannot run any scripts nor I can I test any new kernels right now because I was configuring these two laptops for friends. I do not own any of them myself but if I find the time I will try to give response to any question. I will then first upgrade to the newest kernel (4.6) then check and report back here. [Kernel-packages] [Bug 1018561] Re: e1000e needs updating due to 82574L keeps dropping RX packets
I have the same problem. The driver seems to work - tries to get connected - but then does not finish. Error messages are not really helpful. I tried a lot so far. I made a backup of the old e1000e.ko and tried the knew driver mentioned in answer 22 here above. But to no avail. Compiling was good though. Loading of the module was ok too. But no change finally. And I am not really willing to switch off acpi cause then my os is slow like a snail. I just hope there will be a working e1000e driver available soon. Thanks. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kernel Packages, which is subscribed to linux in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1018561 Title: e1000e needs updating due to 82574L keeps dropping RX packets Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Description:Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Release:12.04 Networking driver e1000e needs updating due to 82574L (and others?) keeps dropping RX packets. Information about how to fix it can be found here (http://www.doxer.org/learn-linux/resolved-intel-e1000e-driver-bug-on-82574l-ethernet-controller-causing-network-blipping/) but including it in the default kernel or official package would be preferable. This controller is popular in Supermicro servers.
