have you tried rebuilding the zebra 'authorities' indexes/database?

mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.49, for debian-linux-gnu (i486) using readline 6.1

And still have the same problem as outlined below.
Any thoughts?

I am trying to export a group of biblios in order to batch edit them.
These are biblios without item records (they are actually components,
part of a larger bound volume, not physical items by themselves).  But
when I go through the steps in MARC export  and select item type:
component, it produces an empty file.  If I select all item types, it
only exports biblios with item records attached.  Which is precisely
the opposite of what I'm trying to do.

I also tried  selecting 'don't export items' to see if that made a
 difference.  It doesn't.

Is there any way I can extract these MARC records, or do I have to fix
them all one at a time?

We're running 3.04.02.000 - have been too busy with a major move in
the past six months to upgrade.  If this is a problem that has been
fixed in a later version that would be useful to know.

Re: [Koha] MARC Export problem

2012-01-04 Thread Jared Camins-Esakov
Elaine,

Limit by item type only works for records with items. It does not use the
942$c. I'm not sure there is any way to export only those records. Perhaps
your best bet would be to export all records, and then filter out those
records that have items? I'd probably convert the export to MARCXML and use
a simple XSLT stylesheet for the filtering, but I'm sure MarcEdit has some
sort of filtering capability.

Jared

Hi Cecil

In the staff interface, if you do a catalogue search, and then click on
the record.

In the edit drop down, there is an option to delete record, it will be
greyed out and unselectable if the record has items attached.
Otherwise selecting that will delete the record.

Hope this helps

Re: [Koha] MARC Export problem

2012-01-04 Thread Chris Cormack
2012/1/5 Jared Camins-Esakov jcam...@cpbibliography.com:
You can export records without item records, just not by specifying an item
type. You have to use a different criterion, or, as I do, export all records
and filter out the records I don't care about. I am sure it would be
possible to add an option select only records with no items, if someone
were interested in sponsoring such a development.

Or even to change it, so that if you didn't have itemlevel itemtypes
switched on, it filtered via the biblio level itemtype.

Or do both :)

koha@nelson:/usr/share/koha$ KOHA_CONF=/etc/koha/koha-conf.xml

19:12:09-04/01 zebraidx(9447) [warn] Record didn't contain match fields in

So -- just the two warns. Can anyone tell me if the skipping rest
refers *only* to the one record, or if it aborted the whole
re-indexing? I'm guessing it aborted the process, as a quick look shows
that none of the missing authorities have magically re-appeared.

Also, is the zebraidx(9447) referenced to the Koha biblio # 9447 (nothing
appears amiss in it) or if there is some other way of finding which record
is giving it indigestion? I have no experience with zebra.

Many thanks - Paul

its skipping *all* records after. looks like you have a bad bib record

I'm guessing it aborted the process, as a quick look shows that none of the
 missing authorities have magically re-appeared.

How about trying it without the -b, just -a to reindex authorities. Id
 add -v for verbose too

yes indeed - there was an small bug with rebuild_zebra.pl script when indexing
both bibs and auth records using the xml switch (not sure if its fixed yet?)

for best results, use the -x (for xml option) on authority records alone, like
this...

$ ./bin/migration_tools/rebuild_zebra.pl -a -r -v -x
