Like Koha, its open source, so you can help to improve it if you wish. :) I didn't do any configurations, Koha is a complex, integrated system. If you don't take the time to configure it to your needs, its unlikely to behave the way you need it to. ,i need to place/recevie order and checkIn/CheckOut only. (For this, is it required to add 'item record' for each book,,,) Could u simply say the things that i need to do Without seeing your system, its hard to say what the issue is, from the information provided. But again, check the system preference I suggested the first time. Koha allows you to set |AcqCreateItem |to create an item when placing an order, when receiving the order or when cataloguing. It looks like the default value is 'when receiving an order.' Is that what you want? I hope that helps. I'm off to bed now. Re: [Koha] Installation problem
The link I posted was to my original Ubuntu Installation Manual. I created this wiki post when I installed Koha on Ubuntu. http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_Ubuntu The online version has undergone a few edits and updates by various people. I may take the time to figure out how to submit patches for the Ubuntu Install file at a later date. I don't know that anything I have done needs or should be submitted as a patch though. We started using Koha for Periodicals in August of 2011. It replaced an outdated Periodicals program we were paying $2,000 a year to use. We are also looking at moving our Acquisitions to Koha as that would save us $4,000 a year. The upside is that the Acquisitions looks like it won't be as much work. I am still working on cataloging the item records for our Non-Current Periodicals and that may get pushed back in favor of setting up Acquisitions. Setting up Acquisitions will be a lot more stress though, because I am going to be dealing with coworkers set processes. We may eventually fully switch over to Koha. One thing that we are waiting for is the patch for the Authorities Records to go through. Last I heard it was slated to go into the next update, but that was at least two months ago. -Joe- On Fri, Apr 6, 2012 at 1:03 PM, Owen Leonard oleon...@myacpl.org wrote: Here is the link to my Koha Setup document, if anyone is interested. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21733088/Koha%20on%20Ubuntu%20Installation%20Manual.doc May I suggest you edit the Ubuntu installation instructions on the wiki and/or submit a patch for the Ubuntu INSTALL file if you know of possible improvements? -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org -- Joseph Alway Access Services Coordinator Chan Shun Centennial Library Southwestern Adventist University The World's Great Literary Masterpieces. We have just been shot down. Due to lack of budgeting for KohaCon 2012 in our current fiscal year, our requests here at Rolling Hills Library to attend have been disapproved. I am more than happy to host a regional meeting here. I was planning a late summer/early Fall regional New England Koha group. We have 3 Mainline Koha and 5-6 Liblime Libraries and several in the neighboring states. We have no infrastructure like Madison did, but we are close to an airport and have 2 hotels with buses...with a nice restaurant across the street. We are still in the middle of nowhere suburban Connecticut though. Details on the Regional meeting in a few days. Re: [Koha] Regional Koha 2012 in Pacific Northwest?
OK, so dates? If we set dates, I can talk to the Doubletree around the corner. We've got a conference room here that can seat 70-80. If we're a larger group, then the Doubletree has meeting rooms. They've cut good deals for the Commission in the past. Or actually, BPA has an auditorium right across the street from the Doubletree. Salvete! On 10 April 2012 10:02, G. Laws glaw...@rhcl.org wrote: Oh no, I took your comments as you intended, I think. So KohaCon13 in USA, you are suggesting? New OrleansSan AntonioMiami...San Fransisco Big cities are expensive, how about Lawrence Kansas .. home of NEKLS Chris PS Volunteering unsuspecting people is my thing I disagree heartily with the cities are more expensive thing. Not in the face! I was a rural Library duhrector. I would concur in the case of New York City. Apart from that, some of the most expensive places I've visited have been in the middle of nowhere. By the time you add in the extra money and time that it takes to get to Bumpass, Virginia to stay in its one hotel (read no competition is a BAD thing) you're wishing you had your conference some place a little more on the beaten track. San Antonio is most certainly NOT expensive. Neither is NOLA. Miami gets there depending on season. LBA suggested someplace out in Cali at some point in the past, and I thought Oh wow, that'd be nice... That said, CT could easily work, and someone wants to do it. Bonus :) If people sat on me and held my arms, I might eventually relent and find someplace to give us a home in the Capital District.
