Re: [Koha] Summary of Open session at KohaCon13 - with a focus on Funding the Future of Koha.
I plan to write something, but I need help from a UX person. I want a simple taskboard, with bugs, that people can claim by a simple click. Then a simple karma type system. ByWater have signed off 10 Catalyst patches, Catalyst have signed off 5 software.coop and 1 Bywater patch, leaving Catalyst 4 patches to go ... kind of idea. It's not fully formed, but if it sounds like something people would to see, or explore further, let me know and I will devote some evenings to it. I would totally be behind an idea like this. Ideally it would be great to easily see if we (ByWater) really are doing enough to eventually get our patches signed off. Something like this would give us a great snapshot of where we need to quickly pick up the slack or just help another developer/company. Although I usually look for patches that are within my skillset to sign-off on, the company or person that submitted the patch is never an issue or goal for me to test or sign-off and I would urge that mind-set stay in the forefront for everyone (which I'm pretty positive that it will). [Koha] North American Users Group
Hello All - Can anyone that is interested in setting up a users meeting in North America for sometime next year - please contact me (you can reply here or to me directly). I'd like to put a little group together to plan something like this out. I am willing to put the group together and provide conference lines, etc. (perhaps with the first meeting in a few weeks) But I really want this to be lead by the users and not a support company. So I'll help as much as I can - but I'm looking for a librarian and/or a group of librarians that want to take the lead and get this going. As I said earlier, I will be happy in leading setting up a hackfest. Thanks, Brendan -- --- Brendan A. Re: [Koha] North American Users Group
I'm fairly confident (we're hiring a new director, so somewhat uncertain) Rolling Hills Library would be interested in sending people to a conference. I personally don't want to be President, King or Chairman of the Board, but I could be in charge of coffee pot operations or something. -- Greg Lawson Network Administrator Rolling Hills Consolidated Library 1912 N. Re: [Koha] Software errors while searching webopac by author field
Shiva Kumara schreef op wo 13-11-2013 om 17:06 [+0530]: We had installed koah 3.12.06 on ubuntu, we noticed that while searching webopac by author field got software errors. But we noticed small “a” prefixed with author name, if we go search like “aAuthor” then only search results are positive. What could be the problem? You don't tell us what the software errors actually are, without them we can't do anything except guess. It sounds pretty strange though. Can you also include the URLs that result when it works and when it doesn't? For searching issues, it's also worth doing a full zebra rebuild, just in case something has upset the search index.
