Subject: [Koha] A dump of greeck/cyrillic records

Hi to all,

we are tryin to test deeply Koha and UFT-8 (bug 11944)

But we need an help to use real marc21 records with no latin alphabets We
know samething about greek and cyrillic alphabets, so if you use those
script do [linux command line, koha user]:

mysqldump -uroot -p databasename biblio -r biblio.dump gzip biblio.dump
mysqldump -uroot -p databasename auth_header -r auth.dump gzip auth.dump

Then write to me directly, I have a special tool for upload big files to me.

If Arab/Chinease/Hindu people want to help, no problems. But we don't
understand anything of their scripts

[Koha] Check in check out fields losing focus

2014-05-20 Thread Marty
Koha 3.15.00.029 on Debian Wheezy

When checking out items I have to click every time in the check out box,
because the focus disappears. This is most irritating. The same happens when I
check in items, and it slows me down considerably. The librarians have not
killed me yet, but they start looking like they want to.

I tried to upgrade to 3.16.00 which runs perfectly fine on my laptop hoping
that would solve the problem (I could be wrong of course), but I have missing
perl modules I cannot install.

I am missing:

Data::Pagination
HTTPD::Bench::ApacheBench
Archive::Extract
Test::WWW::Mechanize

They all stop at cannot test without successful make.

I did some googling and found a post that advised to install
libchi-driver-memcached-perl, but that does not work either;

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
 libchi-driver-memcached-perl : Depends: libchi-perl but it is not going to be
installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

So, now I need some help. Especially to automatically return focus to check in
/ check out boxes

Thanks,

Marty

[Koha] Add a proposal for hosting KohaCon15

2014-05-20 Thread Thomas Dukleth
Anyone who would like to host KohaCon15 (international Koha conference to
be held in 2015) should add some brief information about their proposal to
the proposals summary table in the page on the Koha Wiki which I have
prepared following the model used for previous KohaCons,
http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/KohaCon15_Proposals .

Please link your summary proposal to a more detailed proposal preferably
in a new page on the Koha wiki or alternately hosted on your own
webserver.

If you have submitted a proposal for hosting KohaCon in the past but had
not been selected, please submit a new proposal if you are interested in
hosting KohaCon15. Do not be discouraged that some other proposal had
been selected over yours in some previous year. [In the interest of
promoting regional diversity in Koha, we have sometimes considered rules
against selecting KohaCon proposals from the same region successively in
case the most populous regions might come to excessively dominate voting
for selecting a proposal, but in practise such rules may not have yet been
necessary.]

Anyone should be free to add additional relevant information to proposal
information in the wiki, such as links and information for local hotel or
other accommodations, attractions, etc. We want whatever information may
be helpful for linking to a community wide ballot for selecting a
particular proposal.

As with all wiki content, it should be easy enough to edit by examining
the form in which pre-existing content has been entered, when editing to
add your own content. If you want more information about MediaWiki
tables, see http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Tables .

[Koha] Importing Marc records from Koha 2.2.9 into 3.14.05

2014-05-20 Thread Elizabeth Wilcox
Hello!

I have been unsuccessfully trying to export records from Koha 2.2.9 by going to
Marc Biblio Export; selecting a call number range, clicking export and saving
the file in notepad (not sure what program to use). The resulting file has a
.mrc extension so I am presuming it is a Marc file, there is also data there.
However, when I try to import it into version 3.14.05 it isn't being recognised.

The steps I am following in version 3.14.05 are as follows:

* Stage MARC records for Import

* Select the file (koha.mrc)

* Upload file
The screen then briefly flashes 0% loading and then disappears. In Staged MARC
management there is then no data.

Any thoughts??
Thanks

[Koha] notes or statistics of transactions in Circulation

2014-05-20 Thread schnydszch
Hello Koha community! I would like to ask if the feature I'll be mentioning
is under development. In the Circulation module, a note or statistics can be
attach to circulation transactions. In our library, some bosses ask their
staffs to borrow books for them, and these bosses aren't even in the
Patron's database of our Koha ILS. I'm thinking I can use the guardian
option (parent-child) but these staffs and bosses are both adults, so it's
actually awkward. Thus, I'm inquiring if there is development for such. And
also, in one of the Koha projects I am currently involved with, they wanted
to know if a certain material borrowed for photocopying can be tag such, so
this feature on notes/statistics on circulation transactions came up again
in my mind. If this feature is off the radar, then I would like to file a
bug for this. Thanks and cheers Koha community!

[Koha] Looking for a bit of report help

2014-05-20 Thread Nicole Engard
I'm looking for some help with reports that require more math than my brain

#1: circulation by % coll code within a date range [50% of DVDs circulated]

I have this one:

I'm not sure how to alter it to show the percentage of the DVDs in the
collection instead of the percentage of all check outs.

#2: DVDs circulating 50% of total DVDs where DVD is a collection code

This might be the same as the above ... unless you all read it differently
than me.

 Ideally the pictures would be made available under something like a

 A set of pictures like this seems like it would be fun and useful to have

[Koha] How to fix a corrupted database

2014-05-20 Thread Phillip Ponchot
I'm running a very old version of Koha 3.0 and have had no problem backing up
the database until now.

Whenever I try to dump the Koha database, I get an error 2013 - can't connect
to mysql server. There is a table and line number that is given showing that
the dump of biblioitems dropped at a specific record number i.e 35432. This
happens also if I try to run a dump via the command line. This happens every
time I try at the same record. Once the 2013 error occurs, no more processing
happens including backing up subsequent tables in the Koha database.

I've tried to run a repair on this table but the repair apparently is not
supported on this engine (mysql). I tried this via mysql and mysqlcheck.

Since I have been able to run a query to find out what the record is, I'm
hoping that the cataloger will be able to delete this record and reenter it
correctly. Hopefully this is the only record in question.

My question is: is there any tool to repair the table that will work.

I've also tried to modify the my.cnf to lengthen the wait time and write time
(since this can also create a 2013 error) but this did not resolve the issue.

Thanks for any info or suggestions.

Phillip
