[Koha] Focus lost when using barcode scanner
I have been really puzzled about this one, and I do not know if this is a koha issue, but maybe people have had the same problem. When I scan a barcode for checking out or checking in I loose focus after scanning the first item, I have to click on the box to get my focus back. The focus seems to move to the search box. Obviously this is really annoying if you have to scan more than one item. This behaviour started after I upgraded to Wheezy. When I type in barcodes manually there are no issues. When I scan barcodes in gedit, the behaviour seems to be exactly the same as when I type the barcode. So, if I scan barcode 12345, it shows that barcode and the cursor ends up on the next line, same as when I type the barcode and hit enter. Re: [Koha] notes or statistics of transactions in Circulation
I guess you could just issue the loan to the staffs account and use the function ”Add a message” from the check out screen. But a note tied to a specific checkout (instead of attaching a note to the MARC-record or item) could be useful sometimes given that the message is displayed when the item is returned. We created a way to display a message when certain itemtypes is returned. Some of that code might give a hint on where to start if someone would like to create the suggested function? http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=10513 It’s not a huge overlap though since most of the new code for this should go into the checkouts table in circulation.pl I guess. It might prove useful to look at the records in MarcEdit first - http://marcedit.reeset.net/ to look at your download to check that it is what you expect. It will also validate the MARC which could help you spot a problem. I export and import files all the time into 3.14 and as long as the MARC is valid it works. I don't know if saving it in notepad is causing a problem, but MARC is not plain text. To use your .mrc file in MarcEdit, you have to 'break' it into human readable text. Re: [Koha] On the choice of MARC-format
Good question! Check your UKRMARC. Where is your title proper? 245(MARC21) or 200(UNIMARC). Your MARC choice must keep harmony with Z39.50 copy cataloguing. Taiwan libraries choose MARC21, because Taiwan's Z39.50 servers provide MARC21 records only. However China libraries have to choose UNIMARC, because their Z39.50 servers provide CNMARC(based on UNIMARC) records. 2014-05-12 18:05 GMT+08:00 zolot zo...@imath.kiev.ua: Hello all, Koha 3.14. [Koha] Koha Development Opportunity : Display of images in OPAC from multiple sources
Hello everyone, My name is Melissa Clarkson and I am the Team Leader of the Library at the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants. We have been on Koha for 2 ½ years. We have started scanning book cover images that are not available from Amazon to have them available in our OPAC and also our current awareness bulletin. They display great in the bulletin, but in the OPAC it creates formatting issues and looks plain ugly. I have approached Catalyst IT in Wellington New Zealand about this issue, and they have advised that it will take 28 hours. They will work through the bug that is creating this issue. The outcome will be that we can use multiple sources to get the book covers from, including local images uploaded in to Koha. I can't justify paying for all of this given it is 28 hours, so I'm coming to the community to see if you would be interested in contributing to a joint development of this. If you are interested, please respond by email by 4 June 2014, with how many hours you'd be able to contribute to this development. Hi! If this rather old source (points to the old Koha website) is to be trusted then UKRMARC seems to be based on UNIMARC. http://library.lviv.ua/e-library/library_standarts/UkrMarc/index_eng.shtml I’d not be surprised though if there are some fields or ways of using a field that only exist in UKRMARC. You might have to remap some of the info to new fields in order to successfully import your records in Koha. Other people here knows the most efficient way to do that if that proves to be the case. Re: [Koha] koha item types dropdown instead of library dropdown
It would be quite possible. The following code that Fridolin Somers posted on march 19 could serve as an inspiration. $(document).ready(function() { $(select#masthead_search).append(option value=\yr\Publication year/option); }) What it does is that you paste it into the system preference ”opacuserjs” and it adds a field ”Publication year” to the drop down menu. Koha doesn’t care that this field was custom made as long as it adheres to standard querys that could just as well have come from advanced search. What you need to do is to compile a list of all the codes for the item types you have (look in admin or get it from the html of advanced search that has the item types). Then create a little jquery snippet that inserts a drop down with these options at the appropriate place. You could probably have someone help you with that last part as long as you have a list of the values that should go into the drop down. Re: [Koha] Password Encryption
I have uploaded a number of patron records via a pup script. However, the password are not working. I have used md5 function. I would like to know which encryption method is used for passwords in Koha. Hi, it's using the Perl module Crypt::Eksblowfish::Bcrypt and it's being salted. I used the following recently when resetting a password in the database: perl -e 'use lib /usr/share/koha/lib/; use Koha::AuthUtils; print Koha::AuthUtils::hash_password(password_here) . \n;' Hope that helps. -- Jason Etheridge | Support Manager | Equinox Software, Inc. / The Open Source Experts | phone: 1-877-OPEN-ILS (673-6457) | email: ja...@esilibrary.com | web: http://www.esilibrary.com ___ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha

Re: [Koha] Focus lost when using barcode scanner
For check-in, are you using page : /circ/returns.pl ? You may clear your browser cache. Best regards, Le 20/05/2014 04:08, Marty a écrit : I have been really puzzled about this one, and I do not know if this is a koha issue, but maybe people have had the same problem. Re: [Koha] Report help needed
Hi Elaine, I'm really not positive this is the issue, but I would double-check to make sure that all of your single and double quotes are standard ASCII quote marks. It looks like several of them are special characters, perhaps automatically converted somewhere along the way in your copy/paste (thank you smart programs like MS Word). Again, just a guess, and maybe those characters were correct when you executed the MySQL in the report and only got converted when entered into your email application. They just look suspect to me. -Original Message- From: Elaine Bradtke [mailto:e...@efdss.org] Sent: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 12:58 PM To: koha Subject: [Koha] Report help needed I'll admit, I'm the queen of cut and paste. Thanks Viktor! I'll try this. Cheers! On Wednesday, May 21, 2014 3:52 AM, viktor.sa...@regionhalland.se viktor.sa...@regionhalland.se wrote: It would be quite possible. Re: [Koha] Report help needed
It looks like the issue is '//datafield[@tag=“022”]/ subfield[@code=“a”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, monthname(datecreated) AS month, year(datecreated) AS year, biblionumber AS The last ExtractValue(b.marcxml, doesn't have a closing ) and you've stopped extracting XML so that is causing one error use //datafield[@tag=“022”]/ subfield[@code=“a”]’), monthname(datecreated) AS month, year(datecreated) AS year, biblionumber AS You've also got a mix of ’ and ' which are slightly different and causing MySQL to misread the sections. Likewise on the line '//datafield[@tag=245]/subfield[@code=a]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=245]/subfield[@code=“b”]’), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, you'll note the a and b subfield codes have different quotation marks, the one around a are right and the ones around b are not, a lot of the tags and codes are using those and MySQL often errors out due to the that. The first query you sent has all of those properly formatted. Here's a cleaned up copy SELECT ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=100]/subfield[@code=a]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=245]/subfield[@code=a]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=245]/subfield[@code=b]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=245]/subfield[@code=c]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=260]/subfield[@code=a]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=773]/subfield[@code=t]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=773]/subfield[@code=g]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=260]/subfield[@code=b]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=260]/subfield[@code=c]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=300]/subfield[@code=a]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=020]/subfield[@code=a]'), ExtractValue(b.marcxml, '//datafield[@tag=022]/subfield[@code=a]'), monthname(datecreated) AS month, year(datecreated) AS year, biblionumber AS biblionumber FROM biblio LEFT JOIN biblioitems b USING (biblionumber) WHERE datecreated BETWEEN Between (-mm-dd) AND and (-mm-dd) Daniel Sanford Assistant Technical Librarian for Digital Infrastructure American Philosophical Society 105 South 5th Street Philadelphia, PA 19106 Telephone: (215)-599-4313 On Tue, May 20, 2014 at 12:57 PM, Elaine Bradtke e...@efdss.org wrote: I'll admit, I'm the queen of cut and paste.
