So finally, my first live DVD has been released. I asked some people about live dvd, and i agree about using live DVD for testing and for education, not for production (the biggest reason, i think, is security). So i left everything as default, no more modification and no more feature. http://sourceforge.net/projects/koha-latest/ If anyone has any ideas or requires, please tell me. I am using ubuntu 12.04 and koha 3.8.7. I have about 1000-2000 books. My search about 2s. your problem is, maybe, large database, next ram is low (check it with free -m), then check %cpu is working! I think the problem is $100a is a authority record, which mean that you can't import new value to. You just only can pick its values. Each 6 months, a new version of Koha (3.4, 3.6, 3.8, 3.10...) released. And then, people will support more to make update once a month (for example 3.x.x). There are lot of problems with update upgrade Koha earch version. Koha 3.6 was old-stable, but it is still supported, for someone who does not want to upgrade to Koha 3.8. Now koha 3.8 is stable version and 3.10 is new freeze version. Of course 3.10 has lots of bug fixed, better features, but has some new error, too. I'm trying to search for my language, using English alphabet. For example, when i type a, Koha can search for â, ă, á, ạ, ả (these are some alphabet in my language) I'm now watching this file: /etc/koha/zebradb/etc/word-phrase-utf.chr I tried to edit this file, add some word to map some alphabet in my language some english alphabet but it didn't work. [Koha] Problem with Zebra Index - Koha v3.08.001
First take a look at all preferences with keyword zebra, make sure zebra is enabled. Next, look at the cronjob in koha. Try with this command (for Debian) $sudo ps aux | grep zebrasrv (or something like that) to check zebra index server is working on your server. Then look that the koha-common file in /etc/cron.d/koha-common ( you can search with command $locate koha-common) and check for right command crontab. (I'm using Koha packages installed on Ubuntu). If Zebra is not working, you can search for barcode with search the cataloge, but now with the title or name... I install Koha on a VPS. I create instances for my student and other librarians to test and learn about Koha. I have some questions: 1. How many instances can i create? (it's subdomain www.xxx.mylibrary.com) 2. And for example, 100-200 instances, is that problem with my VPS when they all work together? Do i have to care about my VPS's RAM, chipset, HDD, internet bandwidth, or something like that? What OS are you using? Debian or centos...? I think your problem is because of wrong configuration apache before. You should remove apache and all its configurations then install a fresh apache2. If u are using debian, ubuntu, you can check for koha packages install on ubuntu, it's an easies way, i think. Here is some command if u can't reinstall your Os. $ Sudo apt-get remove - -purge apache2 apache2.2-common This will remove all configurations file, maybe remove koha , and mail server. Be warning about this. Next $ sudo apt-get autoremove This clear all another dependence program and their config files. Next try reinstall apache again. Hope this help! First, i have problem with this, too. I downloaded original file patron_import.csv, opened it with Libreoffice Calc, watched table borrowers in database by Phpmyadmin. Then i tried to fill all file with the similar values as what i did before (add patron manual). Next i saved file as .csv file, and tried import patron. I failed with message: Line 2 Critical field surname missing (borrowernumber: UNDEF; surname: UNDEF)... Next i tried to change fomats all fields in their fomats (text, number, date), esspecially date YYY-MM-DD. Then i saved file as .csv file, and tried import patron. I failed with message: Line 2 Critical field surname missing (borrowernumber: UNDEF; surname: UNDEF)... (same error) I saved .csv file as .ods file, and tried import, once more time fail. Last time, maybe i was lucky, i use that.ods file, saved as .csv file, then i received a message: Export text file... field delimiter , text delimiter I press Ok, then saved. And i imported patrons without error. I don't understand it very clear, but just wanna share experience. [Koha] Prolem with setting 1.2.3.2 IndependantBranches
I'm trying to install Koha for sharing for 20 branches libraries in my province. I Prevent staff (but not superlibrarians) from modifying objects (holds, items, patrons, etc.) belonging to other libraries. Now a staff can't check out, check in for patrons or items belongs to another library. It works great. But when a staff (not superlibrarians )search in catalog, he still can see results belong to another branches libraries and can edit item, change item's status (lost, damaged). I don't know it's a bug or i forgot somethings? In relations with this setting, i have changed some system preferences 1.5.3.6 Don't allow patron hold or check out from other branches. 1.11.1.6 Add a choice branches on search opac (really nice, when patrons can search only in their library ) 1.11.3.10 Limit patron search on their own branch 1.11.3.11 Alow hold on only their branch. I'm wondering, shoult we put a preference, limit staff search on their own branch. So they can't see items belong to another branches libraries and can't edit it. Thanks for reading. Best regardes!
