in fact it is an other option.
I think it is more complex to do, but with OAI-PMH and Vufind you can
create a better result.

The advantage of pazpar2:
-- More light
-- More simple to do (my opinion)
Dis:
-- No checks on loans
-- more 'basic' as frontend

2)Do the union catalog with pazpar2, http://www.indexdata.com/pazpar2

Re: [Koha] Translating string at Koha manual 16.11

2017-09-06 Thread Tajoli Zeno

Hi to all,

I think the problem is done by not so standard XML in file manual.xml
ver. 16.05:

Staff members can access their own check out screen by clicking
their username in the top right of the staff client and choosing 'My
checkouts'

 My checkouts

The correct format (for a good transformation into ReST format) is:

Staff members can access their own check out screen by clicking
their username in the top right of the staff client and choosing 'My
checkouts'

 My checkouts

In fact seeking with regexp \S$ gives me 133 results inside
file 16.05 manual.xml.
Seeking with regexp \s$ gives me 1146 results inside file
16.05 manual.xml.

My suggestion is:
1)Fix en .rst files of of 16.11, using 16.05 manual.xml to find
subsections to fix.

2)Redo .po file for others languages.
3)Merges fixes into 17.05 and master.

What do you think Katrin and Bernardo ?

the typo is present also into 16.11, you can see it from here:
http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=kohadocs.git;a=blob;f=en/source/04_patrons.rst;h=98a14c92ea03350756cc78a82bfeab3e1c95f33d;hb=refs/heads/manual16.11.x#l1136

Probably it arrives from transformation from DocBook XML to ReST

In DocBook XML format (file manual.xml 16.05):
28167
28168 Check Out

28170 For instruction on checking items out, view the

28178
28179

In ReST format (file 04_patrons.rst 16.11):
1129 `Check Out <#patcheckout>`__
1130
1131
1132 For instruction on checking items out, view the `Checking

1136 username in the top right of the staff client and choosing 'My
1137 checkouts'My checkouts
1138
1139 `Details <#patrondetails>`__
1140

as you see the subsection ... is not well
transformed into ReST format.

The correct transformation is:

1129 `Check Out <#patcheckout>`__
1130
1131
1132 For instruction on checking items out, view the `Checking
1133 Out <#checkingout>`__ section of this manual.
1134
1135 Staff members can access their own check out screen by clicking their
1136 username in the top right of the staff client and choosing 'My
1137 checkouts'

 My checkouts

I think we need to improve DocBook XML to ReST import.

Dear Tajoli,

Many thanks. We tried your sandbox (Koha 17.06.00.003) with acqusition
module and found that this particular functionality (change of price,
currency and conversion rates while receiving the order) remains the
VERY same as that of Koha 3.22 as given below in the example:

While editing the order line number, the URL passes two parameters viz.1.
ordernumber and 2.booksellerid as shown below:

http://library.imsc.res.in:8001/cgi-bin/koha/acqui/neworderempty.pl?ordernumber=4=1

As you may notice, the parameters passed in the URL hold good for books
acquisition. But for the serials, subscriptionid is another important
parameter to be passed in the URL to identify the particular serial
subscription. This is not provided even in the Version 17.06. We have to
manually pass this subscriptionid parameter in the URL as below to
acheive the

functionality:

http://library.imsc.res.in:8001/cgi-bin/koha/acqui/neworderempty.pl?ordernumber=4=1=4

So, what should happen is that when passing the parameters in the URL
while editing the orderline during the receipt of the order:

For every order number, system should check for subscriptionid value and
should include the subscriptionid parameter in the URL only when
subscriptionid value is present. In otherwords, if the subscriptionid
value is present, then URL will have subscriptionid parameter with
values (=4 for example). If subscriptionid value is not
present for the order number, then this subscriptionid parameter should
NOT be passed at all in the URL. We think this should fix this problem.
We have tested manually.

Kindly look at the codes and do the needful to effect the above
functionality.

With kind regards,

Paul Pandian and Maruthu Pandiyan

Hi,

with those results I think that your problem are based om MySQL setup.
Login into mysql command line and do:
mysql> SHOW VARIABLES LIKE '%char%';

In my Unimarc setup (Koha 3.20.7, Debian 8, Mysql 5.5) the result is:
mysql> SHOW VARIABLES LIKE '%char%';
+--++
| Variable_name| Value  |
+--++
| character_set_client | utf8   |
| character_set_connection | utf8   |
| character_set_database   | utf8   |
| character_set_filesystem | binary |
| character_set_results| utf8   |
| character_set_server | utf8   |
| character_set_system | utf8   |
| character_sets_dir   | /usr/share/mysql/charsets/ |
+--++

Server1 has the same result of Server2 ?

An other possible source of problem is 'locale' setup.
In my server
koha@debian8:~$ locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=en_US:en
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"

LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

As you see there are much more '.UTF-8' that in your 'locale'.

if you setup a different instance you can't do this:

and it might be easier to link their holdings to our
records instead of converting their database to MARC.

As I see here [http://catalogue.efdss.org/] you are a mono branch install.
You can add an other without problem then you need two new dns address.
One for the new library and one for 'the general catalog'.
You can mantain the present dns name [http://catalogue.efdss.org/] for
your branch
Read this pdf:
http://www.koha.org/library/resources/Documentation/OPAC-Customization.pdf
To do good result you must done same magic in apache conf files: in the
different VirtualHost section you can insert different system
preferences using SetEnv OVERRIDE_SYSPREF_PrefName Value

. If it's a small bit of digital magic that needs doing, we might be able
to beg some help from a friendly IT wizard.

Is better that to ask him/here to read:
http://www.koha.org/library/resources/Documentation/OPAC-Customization.pdf

Re: [Koha] Acquisitions change in Koha 16.11 and forward

2017-05-11 Thread Tajoli Zeno

I think it is a good idea.
+1

Il 09/05/2017 22:44, Nick Clemens ha scritto:

Hello All,

With the current versions of Koha there have been some changes in
acquisitions and how prices are calculated and there seems to be some
confusion in terms and how things are currently being used.

We wanted to clarify what is happening, propose a change and get feedback
on what needs to happen.

When placing an order there are several price fields:
Vendor price (listprice in db)
-This is used to populate the Replacement cost and budgeted cost on the
order page. It is not used against the budget

Replacement cost (rrp in db)
-This is used to calculate the 'budgeted cost/ecost' in the budget - it
also populates the replacement price in the item created by the aqc process
once received

Budgeted cost (ecost in db)
-This is the replacement/rpp minus any discount on the order - this is the
value that will be encumbered when the order is placed

Actual cost (unitprice)
-This is the eventual 'price' of the item and is the encumbered amount once
the item has been received.

With the changes that were made one can no longer adjust the
'Replacement/RRP' once an order is placed - this is because this value is
adjusted for tax in the db (rrp_tax_excluded, rrp_tax_included) and used
for calculating the ecost tax adjusted (ecost_tax_excluded,
ecost_tax_included)

Some libraries have been having issues as they use 'Replacement' cost
mostly for populating items and are not used to it being unable to be
edited and/or affecting budgets.

We are proposing to rename the current 'Replacement cost' field to match
the db value - 'Recommended retail price' (RRP) and add a new 'Replacement
cost' field, editable at any point, that is only used for populating the
item field.

We think this will clear up how the other values are being used and restore
functionality that changed.

Please let us know if this works or what other suggestions you have here.

Thank you,
Nick, Kyle, Jonathan

Well, if you send fixes and patch on this topic [or you pay developers

check the version of apache on your server.

[Koha] Indexing MARC21 tag 264, why not use indexes pl and copydate

2016-05-04 Thread Tajoli Zeno

Hi to all,

reading the log of 264 indexing setup,
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14198

I see that the final decision is to insert
all 264 data into indexes Providera and pv.

As I have undestand, 264 doen't insert data into pl [place] and into
copydate [year].
The comment speaks "Note that if you search again with pb only one
record appear. This is because the suggestion of LOC".

Can you link me the suggestion of LOC ?
I don't find it.

And about the other two indexes, pl and copydate ?
Why we dont' do something like those line ?

  pl:w
   pl:p

  copydate:w
  copydate:s

In my MARC21 records we are starting to use 264 and we don't use 260
anymore [is an early adopter policy].

Thank you for everything.

in fact your example of 3.22 is a demo that use default setup.

If you go to code of 3.16.x for

you can say that dublin core metadata are inside

So if you prefert the solution of 3.16 in library.software.coop,
you need only to change your version of /xslt/MARC21slim2OAIDC.xsl file

this is a know bug, bug 15431:

You have two option:
1)Wait until next 3.20.x release (next week as I know)

2)Try to fix it with those instructions [from Frédéric DEMIANS]:

- Access your Koha server with shell.

- Locate the file 'checkouts' in your local Koha installation. It is in
'svc'

  subdirectory of the Koha home directory.

- Change your working directory to the directory containing 'checkouts'.

- Run this command:

  wget -O checkouts http://tinyurl.com/zg6ukte

  It retrieves a valid 'checkouts' program.

The wiki page is correct. But your case is much more complex.

Also the wiki page about olb books it is OK, but you can use it
only as basic how-to to undestand how config indexing work.

Does anyone know anything about the steps as suggested there or do we
really need to rework the whole thing because of the Arabic and the
linkages to their respective fields?

You don't to delete part of default indexing config, you need to add 880
indexing. But it is difficult, because you need to backport bug 14217,
http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14217

If you migrate to 3.22 [it arrive at the end of november 2015]
you still need to change default indexing to use 880 more deeply.

I suggest you to open a bug on bugzilla.
Add 10-20 marc record from your catalogue with 880 to do tests.
