Re: [Koha] Question on MARC Frameworks and Staging/Importing records

2023-11-06 Thread MoFP Library
Hi Anke,

If your records were imported into the default framework, there are couple
other options to get them into the ones configured by the library.
1. Click on 'Edit Record' to open the imported record
2. On the top right, click on the 'Settings' tab and choose from the configured
framework

OR

1. Go to Tools and select 'Batch record modification' under the 'Catalog' column
2. Choose from the list the modification template you want to change the MARC
record to (ensure that your library configured modification templates)

Hope this helps.

Subject: Re: [Koha] Question on MARC Frameworks and Staging/Importing records

Hi Anke,

we only use the default framework usually, apart from locally catalogued
items, so there might be other tricks I am missing.

The framework use for a record is stored in biblio.frameworkcode. And
you could update it with SQL. Not sure if it's cached and if that would
take effect immediately, but that's easy to find out.

Hope this helps,

Katrin

Some other things to make sure of:

[Koha] Dispaly of OPAC Holdings on Mobile Devices

2023-03-10 Thread Rosewood Farm Library
Dear all,

We are using Koha 22.05.06.

When displaying OPAC holdings on a mobile device, they are in column (or
table) format (like showing on a desktop computer). In earlier versions,
they were not displayed in such a format.

How can I change this to a non-column (or table) format, so information are
more readable?

Kind regards,

Iming Chan

I removed those """ at the beginning and end then got this message:

Quoting Ere Maijala :

If you have those """ at the beginning and end of the file, remove
them. So the first line would be:

Trying to run this:

But get this instead:

String found where operator expected at barcode.pl line 22, near “””
(Might be a runaway multi-line “” string starting on line 1)

syntax error at barcode.pl line 22, near “””

As you can tell I do not know Perl. So any help will be nice.

Removed the quotes but still got the same error message.

how to you get koha-shell ppa to work?

Quoting Jonathan Druart :

Don't include the quotes, it was to delimit the code.

When I compare Jonathon's script with yours, I see some typos in yours:

holingbranch =>$branchcode,

This should be holdingbranch.

barccode=>"barcode_'.$biblio->biblionumber,

The single quote ' should be a double quote ".

)-store;

There should be a > after the -, i.e. ->

To run this script, first use this command to set up the proper environment:

   koha-shell INSTANCE

where INSTANCE is your Koha instance name (it appears to be ppa in
your case).

Then you can run the script using this:

  perl scriptname.pl

When I tried to run barodes.pl all it did was make Koha think it was

Re: [Koha] Br Raphael

2021-02-15 Thread library

Ian,

The answer to you questions is true. I just need to have the right
syntax for mysql to add books to the items. I have the means of making
the whole collection get barcodes within a few minutes. The only
problem is that the barcode thing only does those items that are
connected to a record.

I just need to make all the items connect to a record.

Br Raphael

Quoting Ian Bays :

Hello

Am I right in guessing that the majority of the books (titles) only
have a single copy?  Also am I right in thinking most of the actual
books (items) have no computer-readable numbers such as barcodes?

If both the above are true and if you have access to the
command-line to run some SQL, then we could come up with a simple
SQL command to add a single item for each title.  These items would
have no barcodes to identify them.  They would have to have a branch
and an item type (and usually a location but that is optional).

If many titles have multiple items or the items do have identifying
numbers then is this information held in a spreadsheet somewhere?
If so there may be better ways to get the items created.

Can I ask why you want to add the items?  Is it so that the books
can be issued to borrowers?  If so I think they may need an
identifying number.

Can you say what version of Koha you have as that might determine
what tools are available for some of the other options.

One is never too old to learn!  I'm sure you will get help from the
community.

Best regards.
Ian

[Koha] Spine label printing

2020-02-20 Thread TS Library
I have recently purchased a Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo to print spine
labels individually rather than in batches.

I have set SpineLabelAutoPrint to 'do' and set SpineLabelFormat to

This was following advice I received from a list member.

When I click on the link to print spine label next to an item the print
dialogue box comes up and displays the Dymo label writer at the top but
nothing is displayed in the print preview – just the little blue dots going
round in a circle – and if I click on print nothing happens. If I change
the printer name to Epson which is my main printer the label is displayed
in the print preview and I can print it.
Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong?

I think you may have syntax error inside it.

[Koha] Koha upgrade from 3.20.00.000 (2015) to any latest and stable version

2019-08-26 Thread Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center Library
Hello,

Our library is planning to upgrade Koha from the version 3.20.00.000 to any
Koha latest and stable version.

- What Koha version do you recommend us ?

- Could you please give us a complete tutorial, system requirements, and
the things we have to do (backup ?, etc,) before starting the upgrade ?

- Is it possible to upgrade directly from 3.20 (2015) to the latest version
? or we have to upgrade to lower versions before?

Given that almost all Koha modules are up-to-date.

Best regards,
Walid

Re: [Koha] 8. Introducing In - Out Management System based on KOHA ILS (Omkar Kakeru)

2018-03-01 Thread PDIT Library
Thank you for a fantastic work. It is a good look at a great program.

Thank you for developing this interface. I sincerely appreciate your
work. This feature is an addon advantage for Koha users This is very
much needed by Indian academic Libraries as NAAC and MBA needs these
reports. I installed this in my library. When patron enters into the
library by swiping the card, Patron photo and details displayed. This
gate register interface is helpful to get statistics of library
visitors. Earlier one developed by Sri A J Thomson was also good but
it doesn’t contain exit system. This plug-in contains both entry and
exit. Reports are also very good and easy to generate. This will help
to library staff in collecting statistics of how much time students
spend in library

Again, thank you Omkar Kakeru so much for your help. I greatly appreciate
the assistance provided by Omkar Kakeru during installation.

Best Regards,

doubt regarding the serial planning. Now I am doing a journal LANCET which
is a weekly having 51 issues and the vol changes with 25th issue but the
issue no is continuous up to 51. my problem is the issue no has got 5
digits and in the prediction pattern while giving 10064 in BEGINS WITH
column OF ISSUE NO and while going to the test prediction pattern, it will
begin with 10064 but the next issue will be numbered 1 next issue will be
numbered 2 and so on. The actual pattern in which the journal arrives is
mentioned below.ie

1.vol no 389 iss no 10064
2.vol no 389 iss no 10065
3.vol no 389 iss no 10066
4.vol no 389 iss no 10067

[Koha] Early morning KOHA problem

2017-01-17 Thread Jezzine Library
Greetings

My small library has been happily using KOHA for about 6 months now, but
one problem has persisted. First ting is the morning the contents of the
catalogue are 'undiscoverable'. They remain so until our IT Guru resets
something in the back of the program (which takes about 5 seconds, & one
day, he says, even *I* will be able to do it.) I would much rather
have a solution!

Even items I catalogue before the reset are undiscoverable once I hit save,
even though they turn up quite happily once the reset is done.

Our IT Guru is professionally trained and has worked internationally for
recognised organisations and this is driving him crazy as he set up KOHA
for me is about 30 seconds flat with this as his only problem. He is more
than willing to 'talk tech' to anyone who thinks they can help.

I have tried logging out properly, not logging out at all, changing
username and password, turning the whole machine off and on.

Cheers

[Koha] Error adding new records

2016-08-08 Thread Blake Library
Hi all. I'm using Koha version 3.11.00.008

When I go into cataloguing and "Add new record" everything looks ok, but
when I search for the record after saving I cannot find the data I entered.
I can edit and delete items but there seems to be a problem with the
records.

Any ideas about where the problem might be - server, MySQL, Koha version
bug?

Have lots of books waiting to be added.

[Koha] Outstanding order (only one order per subscription is allowed)

2016-03-09 Thread library
Hi

I am having a problem entering serials information in the Acquisitions
module. I keep getting the message

"Outstanding order (only one order per subscription is allowed)"

when I try to enter a subscription into the new basket for the vendor.

I don't really understand the relationship between renewing a subscription
in the Serials module and entering budget information in the Acquisitions
Module.

Can anyone direct me to more information than is in the Manual.

I am using 3.20.4

2016-03-08 Thread Celtic Studies Library

Hi

We are unable to see parton's reading history. We can only see what they
currently have on loan.

opac privacy and opac reading history are set to ALLOW.
Is there something we are missing?

Many thanks

Margaret
