Re: [Koha-devel] Translator tool, changing ?

2013-03-07 Thread D Ruth Bavousett
As a non-translating tool-wielding person, I'll just say that I'm willing
to support whatever tool you folks need!I'd like to hear from some
other prominent translators on this!

The only "weakness" I see in transifex is that if they ever change their
model to start charging FOSS projects, they've got the data and can cause
some mischief. If we want to change from Pootle, but still control the
server/data, take a look at http://weblate.org. The interface is a little
like Pootle, but I'll leave judgment calls up to the people that actually
*use* it; I just know a peer who has used it, and liked it.

Yay, you remembered the name :) I didn't :( We briefly talked about
it last december
http://irc.koha-community.org/irclog/koha/2012-12-10#i_1143014

I still think we should try it, but I have something like no time at
all until at least April

PS. we should decide on one list to continue this discussion, I
would say koha-translate seems more appropriate?

I agree it's a big concern. Isn't
http://help.transifex.com/features/api/index.html at least partially
answering it ? (I haven't checked what it provides)
