Go to www.krgathering.org and look at the 2005 Gathering 
photos.  Scroll down to Joe Weber from Wisconsin.  He used boat 
trailer wheels on his for his grass strip.

If it hasn't already been mentioned,

In many circles the seal you are describing is known as a 'form-in- 
place' seal.  Working on military aircraft myself, we sometimes use  
tricks like wax paper, tape and even plastic wrap.  More commonly, we  
use a spray-on Silicone Release Agent.  Assures a perfectly formed  
seal, cleans up very easily with iso-propanol and won't interact with  
sealants.
