KR> The first KR?
Can anyone fill in the history? I found Fred Keller's Kr1 hanging from the roof of the Alaskan Transport Museum. It says it was the first completed Kr in July 1973? Did he beat Ken Rand then to finish his prototype? Enjoy the gathering.Colin. -- next part -- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... KR> 12th Annual Alternative Engine Round-Up and Experimental Aircraft Fly-in
>From Pat Panzera: Friends, Saturday, September 26th is the big day. Last year we moved our annual event to Southern California, to a beautiful non-towered airport that's easy to get to in French Valley - near Temecula. The paved runway is wide and long for the fast-glass, and the airport is low-and-slow friendly- being the home airport of EAA Chapter 1279, known for building a beautiful, Corvair-powered Pietenpol. The website has been updated with the most current information, and a plea for you to RSVP if you are planning to attend the casual dinner on Saturday night: http://www.contactmagazine.com/roundup.html Thanks! And I humbly apologize if you get this message more than once. It just means that you and I are on multiple email lists together. Oh yeah! PLEASE forward this message to anyone you think might be interested in, especially email groups that are about homebuilt aircraft. KR> Froze my butt
Left SEE about 1 in the morning and stopped for fuel in Merced. That was my chance to put on some sweat pants instead of shorts but I didn't do it. I did, thank goodness, put on a pullover. My renovated cockpit heat system was no match for the 20 degree F temps at 12.5. Trip coming up was an ordeal in survival. Jeff arrived in the pattern at exactly the same time as I did. What's the chances of that happening? I've found a motel and am going to sleep for at least 12 hours. Haven't had any for a couple days between getting caught up with my to-do list maintenance items plus other things I need to tend to when leaving home for a few days. I'm 70 this month and can't go two days without sleep like I used to. I can do it, but then need to catch up so I'm going to catch up before I do anything else. I brought a tent, ground cover and camping mattress but that field is not for camping or parking anything except tractors. Deep holes and serious sturdy weeds that are mowed but thick enough to take out a KR tire, if not the weeds then the holes. Camping should not have been mentioned. Bathroom stank. Didn't even look at the "shower facilities". It's very lush and beautiful up here. It won't be replacing Mt. Vernon anytime soon. Mike KSEE Want to place your ad here?
