KR> KR Plans

2015-01-05 Thread Alex Pearson
All plans from my understanding still are obtained through Jeannette Rand.
NVAero was providing them as a service to the community not something they
made very much money on, Also from what I heard that Jeannette prefers to
handle multiple orders at one time since there are large scale plans and
the build book to be copied.

If someone has a way to email Jeanette Rand that most likely is going to be
the best way to get plans without purchasing someone elses project.

KR> How to add fluid to brakes / brake bleeding

2014-11-13 Thread Alex Pearson
Brake Fluid Pump System not Break - funny. I will leave the step by step to
the article but it does make use of a standard handheld plastic pump
sprayer. The article points out a short 7 item bill of materials of parts.
Looks like about an hour to build once you have the parts.

KR> KR2S supplement

2014-10-12 Thread Alex Pearson
It would seem to me though unnecessary to on a group forum to bring all
this up so publically. I have been part of the KR2 community a few months
now, a very short time compared to many of you, and have found everyone to
pleasant, patient, friendly, and helpful. I doubt that any of us can say we
executed 100% of the time on everything we commit to.

I am a business owner myself. I would imagine the KR business, due to the
relatively small size of the community, is not a run to the bank with
wheelbarrows of money business for Steve. There has to be a lot of doing
this for the love of the plane and the community.

I am sorry that you didn't get the plans you want in the time frame you
wanted however from the thread it appears there was some miscommunication
going on. People deserve to be paid for their intellectual property and the
things they sell to run their business. Scanning of information that
represents someones livelihood is not right. You wouldn't want someone
taking your car out of your driveway.

Its time to take this out of the group list. Sorry for the long winded
response however I am involved here for the joy not the politics.

KR> A-790 Vernier Control Cable

2014-10-02 Thread Alex Pearson
I am nearing completion of a KR2 with a Revmaster engine (big night last
night was able to finally get the engine running smoothly!). I changed out
the Posa carb that was on the engine with a new Revflow.

In changing out the carb I found that the mixture cable was too short so I
bought a new A-790 Vernier Control Cable from Aircraft Spruce (an ACS
Products control) that needs to be cut to length.

My question is what is the proper method to cut the control to size? There
is a galvanized steel casing with a Teflon internal coating and a solid
wire core.

KR> New to the KR Family

2014-09-09 Thread Alex Pearson
Hello all! I decided to introduce myself since I am new to the group and
the KR family. My name is Alex Pearson and I live in San Antonio, TX. Took
my private written in 1976 and became a certified pilot at 30 (1989). I
have a bit over 500 hours however I have not flown since 2006. Starting
tailwheel combined with recurrent training tomorrow.

In the last 3 weeks I have purchased 2 KR2s and 1 KR2S all with VW motors.
1 KR2 and the KR2S are both projects however one of the KR2s is a mostly
finished machine ready for an Airworthiness Certificate.

I would have liked to have been at the Gathering however I was driving a
KR2 from Louisiana. I look forward to the opportunity of meeting others in
the KR family and being a part of some of the Gatherings. If any of you are
close to San Antonio let me know.

All three planes are in a hangar at a private airfield south of San
Antonio, 28TE. I am the only renter out there right now so there is room
for more.
