Good Evening KR Builders - I hope Fridays are still fair game to list Airplane 
for sale

C-GGGW
Has flown 350hours on a 1835vw by the original builder/Pilot. I believe the 
logs say fall of 1985 was first flight
Until she tried out the engine with a  serious oil leak.  Yes she still had a 
Safe landing 
She played Hanger queen with the next two  owners

I took her on as project with only 10% left to return to the air;  you know the 
rest of the story.

I'm out of funds and lack the time.

She flew all her hours on the origin retract landing gear. The owner and 
builder has something like 15000hours of flying and said it always wanted to 
nose over on grass or runway with water or snow.
So with my limited 150hours and 10 of which are  tail time I figured I best 
give myself a fighting chance and  remove the old gear and go to fixed gear.  

This is one of two reasons  I'm stalled and in a downward spiral.

The second reason is I have a 1835VW complete firewall forward setup (not the 
one with the oil leak).  After listening again to too many type A 
pilots/builders I dissembled the engine for full rebuild. 

Like all good plane projects I have a lot of money tied up in it. Some $6000 

If someone makes me a fair offer I will let her go.

Plan B - Offer- If the right person came along and wanted to finish the bird 
and share it with me in a partnership we might have something to talk about.

I also have a Continental A65 full firewall forward setup for sale or some Plan 
B offer of partnership on a Plane that needs an engine.

It has come time for me to give up on my dreams of completing my KR-2. So

completing  the build process and letting her take to the air...

The boat portion of the fuselage is completed as well as the wing stubs.  
She sits on original RR landing gear. Tail features are built and installed. 
I  have the original engine cowling as well as the original canopy and 
frame. They  have not been installed at this time.

I also have two (2) corvair engines number correct per WW info. Both  
motors are complete. One is in the process of being torn down.

Here is what its about, I saw this 80's vintage KR on e-bay about a year  and 
1/2 ago and was high bidder, yea!  Well the plane was in a garage/house  deep 
in Southern VA.  Can anybody say "Hillbilly" cause that is
who had the plane, why I will never know, all I can think of is the banjo  
boy in the movie "Deliverance", yep they all looked like that.  I brought  it 
back to PA and started repairing the wings first, they are complete with  paint 
and LED nav lights and landing lights.  Now the fuselage, flipped  over and 
repaired anywhere there was
a crack or something I did not like, which was most of the bottom, rudder  
rebuilt, and new spar etc for elevator, this is where I stopped.  Your  asking, 
is that all there is? no, put on that leather bomber jacket and
check what we got.  0 time RevMaster 2180 - 80 HP, w/RevFlo carb, 4  into 1 
stinger exhaust stainless.
All new Gerds wheels, tires, tubes, brakes.  Additional complete  retract 
assembly, even though the one in the plane works fine, new Haig style  tail 
wheel 
assembly complete.  All the instruments for flight and EGT and  CHT. New in 
the crate Todd's Canopy. There is probably more but I would  have to go look.
Anyway it is all yours for $6000.00, no negations, the engine alone is  worth 
the total I am asking.  Oh! why
am I selling, I want to fly not build, I have a Pitts S-2 and just bought a  
Micco 206 for traveling.

  I am interested in your KR-2 if it is a flying KR-2.  I am not concerned 
about the interior and the headroom.  I am large myself, but I will convert it 
into a KR 1.5.  Do you have good records for it.  Is it registered with FAA?  

  Here is my situation.  I cannot get to Houston until December 19th, weather 
permitting, December 20th if weather is unfavorable.  I want to trailer it 
home, rather than fly it.

  I have no idea about the geography as to where you have the airplane, but if 
you are out of the country by the dates I have given you, then could you leave 
my identification, which I will provide upon conclusion of the sale, with your 
airport personnel, so they can let me into your hangar to get the plane?

  My major request would be for you to have all the paper work in order and in 
an envelope which could be mailed to me when you send the receipt for my 
payment.  

  I would also like for the wings to be off the plane and the connecting parts 
for the wings to be placed into two plastic freezer boxes labeled "left wing" 
and "right wing" so that it will be relatively simple to put the wings back on 
when I get to Indiana.

  I can pay you via PayPal, Cashier's Check or Personal Check.  I am offering 
you $7000.00.

Checking the registration on this KR-2, I see the builder was John
Forrrester.  Some of you may remember John as the KR newsletter publisher
back in the early '80s.  There should be a picture or two and maybe an
article on it in the KR newsletter archives.

Last February 17th, the FAA sprinkled holy water on my KR-2 and officially made 
it an airplane.  It is a standard version with a Great Planes 1915 cc VW with a 
rear drive and Ellison throttle body.  Instrumentation and avionics exceeds 
what most people would plan for.  It has about two hours of ground time on the 
engine but has not been airborne.

I am going to offer it for sale.  Between the surgery, chemotherapy, and 
recovery, I have no idea when I will be back into flying--if ever.

If anyone is interested, please contact me offline and I will provide a spec 
sheet and pictures.

If it's Jeff Duvals' airplane, Troy Petteway says it's the sweetest flying
KR he's ever flown (but then that was before he flew mine).  Last I heard,
it had an A-65 engine.  It lived in a hangar in TN for years before Jeff
bought it.  He flew it to the Gathering at Columbia (see

lot of work on it since then...
