[Bug 1430428] [NEW] kubuntu: fix live cd boot sequence

2015-03-10 Thread Jonathan Riddell
Public bug reported:

Since switching to systemd the Kubuntu live CD no longer boots into a
live desktop.

It'll boot into ubiquity-dm and on clicking Try Kubuntu it'll kill
ubiquity and just show a blank screen. It can't then switch vt at all.

I did get it to boot into a desktop once by switching vt first before
clicking Try Kubuntu.

This is something to do with sddm, ubiquity-dm and systemd.

When we used upstart it skipped over ubiquity-dm because I could not
work out how to get the vt transition to work. sddm likes to work on vt
1 while ubiquity-dm likes good old vt7

[Bug 1430389] Re: intaller crashed when running update grub on my USB HDD

2015-03-10 Thread Phillip Susi
Looks like ubiquity is trying to run things in parallel that need to be
serialized:

Mar 10 14:53:23 kubuntu ubiquity: apt-install or in-target is already running,
so you cannot run either of
Mar 10 14:53:23 kubuntu ubiquity: them again until the other instance finishes.
You may be able to use
Mar 10 14:53:23 kubuntu ubiquity: 'chroot /target ...' instead.
Mar 10 14:53:23 kubuntu in-target: Unexpected error; command not executed:
'update-grub'

[Bug 1430590] [NEW] package kdeconnect depends on deleted (transitional) qca2 packages

2015-03-10 Thread Marko Stanković
Public bug reported:

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System ->
About Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu Vivid Vervet (development branch)
Release:15.04

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or
by checking in Software Center
kdeconnect:
  Installed: 0.7.3-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 0.7.3-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 0.7.3-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/ubuntu/ vivid/universe i386
Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What you expected to happen
Remove "transitional dummy packages":
libqca2-plugin-gnupg
libqca2-plugin-ossl

4) What happened instead
kdeconnect depends on them, so not removing the dummy packages

Proposed solution:
Update the /debian/control file by replacing these two packages with
libqca2-plugins

[Bug 1430428] Re: kubuntu: fix live cd boot sequence

2015-03-10 Thread Martin Pitt
Could be in ubiquity or sddm, picking one for now until we know what's
up here.

> When we used upstart it skipped over ubiquity-dm

what does that mean? Does it disable that job somehow? ubiquity-dm is
for the "install without live session" mode, it shouldn't be involved in
the live session at all.

Either way, need to download a Kubuntu and look into this properly.

Hi. Can confirm that Latin American countries are also affected. The
only way to install Kubuntu 15.04 with no crash is changing the zone to
US.
