[libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice 3.3.3 translation

2011-04-12 Thread Andras Timar
Hi,

LibreOffice 3.3.3 will be released on May 24th. It will contain only
critical bug fixes and l10n improvements.

I see that some of you keep updating the 3.3.x translations in Pootle.
I'll push 3.3.x translation updates from Pootle to git before 3.3.3 RC1
(before May 9th). Please finish your work on 3.3.x by then. It takes a
lot of manual work to update translations in 3.3.x so I would like to do
it only once - before RC1 - then translators can move on to newer targets.

Thanks,
Andras

[libreoffice-l10n] Re: Inclusion of FUEL terminology file at The Document Foundation – Pootle server for Marathi [mr] language

I have FUEL terminology file for Marathi language[1].

I am sending it to you. Please upload it at The Document Foundation –
Pootle server.
Additionally, I have attached the FUEL terminology file for Marathi
language.

[1]http://svn.fedorahosted.org/svn/fuel/fuel-marathi/fuel_mr.po

FUEL file imported. I assume the attachment is the same file as the one
on Fedora's server (I downloaded that one), right?

Would you want me to poke folks at Pootle to include this file into
Pootle by default?

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice 3.4 files updated in Pootle

2011-04-12 Thread Olivier Hallot

Hello Andras

Thank you for updating us.

But please can we have such anoucements in advance?

I was translating offline, I got many files ready for upload back to
pootle until yesterday and now I think I am not in synch anymore.

My LO 3.4 UI was ready and now it is not. For me this is rework.

Thanks for taking care of us.

Hi,

Yesterday LibreOffice 3.4 beta 1 was tagged. According to Release Plan
this also means String Freeze.

Last night I updated LibreOffice 3.4 UI files in Pootle in all

background.

The next beta will be tagged on next Monday, and I will take all
translations from Pootle on Sunday, April 17, and commit them to git.

Hi Olivier,

You do NOT have to re-translate everything again. It's possible and
relatively easy to sync your files with new templates.

I will announce it next time.

I think, if you upload your files and later choose Update from
templates on the Files tab, then you'll not loose anything. By the way
the update was small this time, and affected only the following files:
UI
./sw/source/ui/app.pot
./sc/source/ui/src.pot
./sfx2/source/dialog.pot
./officecfg/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/UI.pot
./cui/source/dialogs.pot
./svtools/source/misc.pot
./scp2/source/ooo.pot
./scp2/source/extensions.pot
./scp2/source/accessories.pot
./svx/source/intro.pot - DELETED
Help
./shared/01.pot
./shared/guide.pot

 [seperate worker for export/zip]
There don't seem to be any drawbacks, so that's the way to go - this
way regular translation will not be blocked/affected by the exporting
blocking all available worker slots or all RAM or all CPU

Unfortunately, real-usage also lets the regular workers grow insanely
(from standard of around 80/90MB to700MB) - thus I had to reduce the
lifetime of the regular worker again as well.

The problem is that the update is not run as much in the background
than it was though, on the contrary it pretty much blocks regular
operation to to the heavy i/o load it causes.

This is partially to blame on a bad database design used by pootle,
and to the fact that the mysqldb currently uses myisam, and that locks
the whole database table, thus limits concurrency.

Yes, this is beacuse it wasn't as much a background task as it was
intended, but did put way too much load on the system, mainly on mysql
- the process has now been interrupted so that mysql can recover.

That limit as it turns out was too high already, as it allowed for too
many extensive operations to be queued up that are all fighting for
ressources, getting over the critical point where the system could not
keep up.

I put the site into maintenance mode to give it a chance to recover.

Please check again in 10 minutes or so.
