Seems I didn't express myself clear enough.. I meant that the locale
data is not available in Weblate, it's core source code, and thus "the
nth numbering style (LC_NumberingLevel) defined by your locale" has no
context and gives no clue.

Since "migrate to boost::gettext" we gained extracting comments via
xgettext which we use with something like

xgettext -C --add-comments --keyword=NC_:1c,2 --from-code=UTF-8 --no-
wrap foo.hrc

I tend to prefix comments targeted for translators with "To
translators: "

Perhaps I misunderstand, but Weblate DOES show that comment in the
String Information box.

yes, see here for example:

But what I said is nothing new. This has always been true. I'm just
trying to make it very clear - especially since a change has been made.

thanks for that! for a better understanding of the situation, people
also can read the bug commets

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56258

Is there anything that I should be doing differently? I have no problems
reverting my change(s) if I am doing something wrong, or if there needs
to be better coordination.

[libreoffice-l10n] RID_SVXSTR_OUTLINENUM_DESCRIPTION change

2023-04-27 Thread Justin Luth

Hi,

In https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/150805 for 7.6 I
re-arranged/changed the first 6 RID_SVXSTR_OUTLINENUM_DESCRIPTIONs. It
is important to note that this text should only be translated for
locales that get their LC_OutLineNumberingLevel from en_US.

The source string description (for RID_SVXSTR_OUTLINENUM_DESCRIPTION_0)
says: “do not translate this; instead describe the nth numbering style
(LC_NumberingLevel) defined by your locale”

Suggested translation order:

-cut _3 and paste into _2

-cut _0 and paste into _3

-cut _4 and paste into _0 and fix description

-cut _5 and paste into _4

-cut _1 and paste into _5 and re-define

-re-define _1

Hope that helps,

Justin
