[lace] More lace...
"...I like to think that I would show lace off better than she does because, being much larger, there'd be more of it to see on me!.."' Jean, I fully agree. I have made myself 2 "Victorian type" plastrons - Long triangular shaped pieces for down the front of a dress, in mixed beds with Needlelace centres - and they drape Much better over my ample front, than they would on a flat, skinny person!! (big grin!!) (I will never fall Flat on my face, that's for sure! I "carry all before me", as my little sister once commented!!) [lace] LaceNews channel
Laurie There are a lot of lace making videos on YouTube. It would be very nice to have them all indexed by someone who knows what they are. Keeping it up to date could be a nightmare. [lace] LaceNews Channel on YouTube
So I signed up for YouTube with LaceNews, and suddenly I have a YouTube channel! They call it "Lacenews's Channel" (hopefully I can adjust that title a bit, still learning how this works). I've been searching YouTube for every lace-related video I can find, and organizing them into playlists on the new channel. I've also got a few old films that need to be converted to digital that I will be downloading in the future. The address is: http://www.youtube.com/user/lacenews I have no clue how well this is going to work, but take a look, comments very welcome. Thanks! This is one of my favorite albums, and I listen to it frequently, especially while making lace!! I still have a sticky note on the inside of the case which tells me how to contact them to purchase a copy (if anyone is interested!! - in which case, contact me privately...) Clay A number of years ago they put out a second CD, too. Can't remember what it is called. [lace] more lace on Kate?
When I suggested that she was too thin to my Monday lace group, there was a sharp intake of breath and I was told I shouldn't say that, but they did agree. Apparently she's a UK size 6. I like to think that I would show lace off better than she does because, being much larger, there'd be more of it to see on me! Re: [lace] more lace on Kate?
The fashion industry hasn't had a "walking billboard" like Kate since Dianna died! Everything she wears will become instant fashion hits. She is lovely, and it's fun to watch what she wears. Personally, I think she looks *too* thin, and will be more attractive when she has gained 10 - 15 pounds. Given her position in the public eye, she could do a lot of good for young women if she were a healthier weight. She may be one of those people who is genetically disposed to be very thin, or it may be that her weight is carefully controlled (her mother and sister are both very trim). But eating disorders among young women are a major health issue, and unfortunately, glamorous women like Kate and most movie stars only perpetuate the problem.
