Re: [lace] Gon Homburg
I agree! Thank you, Gon. Hopefully, I will get all of them done, but at this point, I have a very, very long way to go. I hope the page with the edgings stays up so I can work them as I can. Today she published her 100th and final pattern. I have looked forward to visiting her page every week for my little treat. I've decided to make all 100 but where to start? [lace] Bird's eye New Pitsligo lace
Hello All! My first piece of New Pitsligo style Scottish lace is posted to Flickr. Lorri very kindly sent me her Bird's Eye pattern from Canadian Lacemaker Gazette. The 100/2 Egyptian cotton seems sparse so next time I will select a thicker thread. Also wondering if more twists would make it more tidy. Luckily, I used beaded bobbins that corresponded with the colors of the thread paths--it is a bit tricky. Onwards to the next pattern! Hi fellow spiders I'm writing to publicly than Gon and her team of lace teachers and designers who over the last 2 years have produced an edging pattern, pricking and instructions every week! [lace] Fuseaux Normands book. Available in Australia?
Dear Brian, This is a book I was trying to find some years ago. I was told a book seller in Australia stocked it. However my search did not succeed. You are in Australia, and may have more luck. I've changed the Subject line, in hopes it will trigger someone's memory, and be sorted into our Arachne archives in a file that can be searched. [lace] Looking for a book?
Does anyone happen to have a copy of the book, "Fuseaux Normands" I have no more information that that. no author, no publisher. nothing. sorry. I do have an excellent photograph of bobbins from the book and I was wondering if the book has more pictures? Once I had about 7 year old French, now I only remember the rude words! Typical! I say that as I will use a translator if you write to me in French, but I also have a French "near" neighbor that might be able to help me. Keeping my fingers crossed.
