Assuming you mean Bockens 35/3:
There's quite a lot of difference. Brok 36/2 is a two ply cotton and
Bockens 35/3 is a three ply linen.
Linen always works up a bit stiffer and with more 'body' than cotton,
and with similar fibres a three ply is firmer and rounder than a two
ply.

Size wise these threads are pretty different too - I measured the Brok
36/2 as 32 wraps/cm which would suit a 2mm grid for torchon. The
Bockens 35/3 is only 18 wraps/cm and would suit a 3mm torchon grid

As a general rule (within cotton, or within linen, etc.), x/3 is half again
the thickness of x/2. The upper number indicates the diameter of each ply
and the lower number is the number of plies. So each ply of 36/2 and 35/3
are the same thickness but there are half-again as many plies in the latter.

It's harder to compare different fibers because the measure for linen is
different for the measure for cotton. So linen 36/2 is much heavier than
cotton 36/2.

Brok 36/2 is just about mid way between the two sizes of Tanne that you
have. Egyptian cotton 60/2 is very similar to the Tanne 50. The
tatting cottons are marginally thicker, but if they are double spun
(DMC Special Dentelles etc) the lace will be crisper and won't fold so
well as with Brok.

Twilley's Gold Dust is a thick metallic thread - the type that is made
like a very long length of crochet chain (US single crochet?). If you
pull at the end it will unravel.

I will be doing the Springett torchon fan and it calls for 36/2 Brok
