[lace] Christiane's travel pillow

2008-02-04 Thread beth
Instructions & pattern went out to 18 people today, and 5 more should go in
tomorrows post.

I can't handle any more requests for the moment (I've got a very busy week
ahead, and I've spent my lace budget for the month on copying and postage),
but I will eventually try to type up the instructions into an email-able
format to cut down the photocopying and postage cost (the pattern sheet
itself will still have to go snail-mail, as it's too large for even an A3
scanner/copier so has to be hand-traced onto tissue paper) and will let you
all know when that's available.

May your threads never break

Beth

[lace] Christiane's travel pillow

2008-02-01 Thread beth
Hi everyone

I've finished translating Christiane's instructions for the pillow/bag, so I'm
intending to photocopy everything tomorrow and hopefully get to the post
office with them on Monday for those who've sent me their addresses. Anyone
else who wants them please email me a snail-mail address.

You'll need to bookmark Christiane's photo-album of pictures of the bag "under
construction" to use alongside the written instructions - some bits are clear
as mud until you see the picture, others make more sense written:
http://dentelledechristiane.over-blog.com/album-248874.html
I'll try to translate the picture captions and email them out to those who've
requested the instructions.

I'm almost tempted to make myself one of the pillows myself , it's such a
lovely and practical design. Crafty in all senses of the word. (I need
another pillow - of any size - about as much as a fish needs a bicycle, I
have more pillows than storage space and next to no lacemaking time)

After all, one of my two travel pillows is falling apart (old age and much
use) and the other isn't really all that good a design (it was crafty
though - someone made it out of one of those square catering size margarine
tubs!). I shall clearly have to book the sort of holiday where I need to take
plenty to do in the evenings...

Regards

Beth

(In Cheshire, where we've had thunder and lightning, hail, sleet, rain, strong
winds and sunshine all in less than 48 hours - that's enough weather to last
us till summer! But I did discover today that my "pet" Robin is actually a
pair. No doubt their will be lots of little Robins begging for mealworms
before long)
